    Chicken sandwich and shrimp
    Tee B.

Service: 5/5 our waitress was amazing! She helped us navigate thru the extensive menu! She made suggestions and also checked in often! Food: 2/5, our waitress stated the sausage dip was popular so we gave a try, super thick with a ton of rotel, light on the sausage but tasty. It was advertised to have fresh chips but they were clearly semi stale bagged chips. We asked for jalapeños which did make the dip better. I ordered a chicken sandwich and fries where the sandwich consisted of two over fried chicken tenders and toppings. The bun was decent but the chicken was temperature hot but super well done. Fried tho seasoned well were cold. My mom ordered the fried shrimp which were good sized and temp hot but again over cooked, same issue with the fries..cold. Our waitress did make it right by bringing hot fries, we made due with the over cooked entrees and ate what we could. My daughter ordered two other items which were slated as popular the wings and breakfast burger. She stated the wings were great tho they are not sauced (they bring you your choice of sauce), tater tots again were cold and the burger was just ok seasoned well but nothing to write home about. Ambiance: 3/5 local sports bar vibes. Plenty of tvs with an array of sports playing.

I got the breakfast burger and it was cooked perfectly. No picture, I ate it too fast.

The wings are amazing and have plenty of sauce on them if you tell them the flavor you want. The beer is cold and prices are fair.

Jalapeño poppers are lousy, for 7 dollars you'd think you get more than precooked frozen ones‍.

The patio outside was really cute and cozy, the various seating areas is really great because you get a different feel from different angles. Our server recommended a Mexican lager.. it was SO GOOD! Try the lager!! My only gripe, the downtempo music changed to club music around 12am and got much louder. My date and I had to raise our voices to continue our conversation, we wanted to take our drinks outside but were told the patio closes at 11 :( We got lucky as the crowd was really thin but most weekends our server said it gets packed.. it's such a small place, I can't imagine what it would be like with 100 people inside!!

Yes, it's hot outside but c'mon, will the entire clientale die within 30 seconds of heatstroke? Fine, no worries, let it pass, walk in just wanting to grab a quick drink at the bar, AGAIN, accosted by the hostess that DEMANDS that I go back to her command center to talk to her, whereupon she really happily informs me that I can't even stand at the bar to have a drink and she would reluctantly put me on the bar waiting list which would be a minimum of one and a half hours... to grab a drink at the bar. tldr; AVOID unless of course, you love being judged at a low rent tiki bar...

A must stop in the downtown Richmond area!…read more It's truly a speakeasy with the door posing as a bookshelf. To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. We stopped in for drinks, but it was nice to have tapas. I got the popcorn with the Tequilla lime butter, which was the perfect balance of salt. I had a mezcal drink which was perfect! I'm such a fan of mezcal and am excited when I see it on the menu. Our waitress was a delight-super attentive and also a bartender so she was able to answer all of our drink questions. It was very spacious with outdoor seating. Definitely a 10/10 experience. I would definitely go again!

He asked for the password and we, unprepared, had to tell him a joke or an interesting fact. Luckily, my partner had one on hand. The atmosphere was lovely, very reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, or at least what you'd imagine it to be like. Our server came by within a few minutes of us being seated. She lacked enthusiasm, unlike the host, unfortunately. Her service turned out to be lackluster as well. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the filet mignon with asparagus. For drinks, the Grape Gatsby and Maine root beer. The food, like our server, lacked appeal. The saving grace was the host and the atmosphere. The view was lovely and the intimacy of the setting was a welcome experience. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding, and it was tasty, though nothing special. The burned odor that we smelled prior to its arrival turned out to be the bread. I can recommend Grandstaff and Stein as an experience, but you should not expect much in the way of culinary delights or exemplary service. We probably won't be back, but if you've never been, it's worth trying at least once.

I was there for a private event. The crowd was warm and wonderfully mixed. There was a little chat before the event began that basically told us to not get kicked out by being mean or non-inclusive. Not sure how I felt about that. Parking in Carytown is its own contact sport. Come early -- your blood pressure will thank you. I parked 6 blocks away and was lucky to get that. Bottom line: Weird, welcoming, and worth every lap around the block looking for a spot if you're into crowds and are looking for something different.

The charcuterie board we ordered was excellent and a highlight of the night. The location is also great for nightlife. That said, the drinks didn't quite hit the mark for me, and the service was inconsistent. We were told guests are expected to be quiet during the sets, yet another group was talking loudly and nothing was addressed, which felt a bit uneven. Overall, it's not a place I'd return to, and I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a more diverse crowd.
