Can't in good faith recommend this location. The service is extremely slow, my food was burnt, my partners burger tasted like dish soap and the workers here did not seem to know what to do to rectify the situation. No one was available to help and we had to find and flag someone twice, once to be seated and then to try to figure out when our food was coming. We were sat for 2 hours and visited by our server all of 3 times. We only ordered a water, Dr. Pepper and two entrees which took 40 minutes to come out. As mentioned in other reviews, the selection of games is a lot smaller than other locations, some of the games are great but will malfunction often which makes it hard to play. The restaurant needs work don't waste your time it took me 2 hours for a dr. Pepper, two burgers, one being burnt, the other tasted like dish soap and then had to wait another 40 minutes for them to remake it to go in an empty restaurant. SECOND REVIEW: I'm updating my review after giving this location another shot, especially since they had given a 50% off certificate when they were closed during our first visit. We went on a Thursday late afternoon, and while everything ended up being fine overall, a few things stood out. My husband actually had to walk back to the host stand to ask if we'd been forgotten. Right after that, a server came over--and to her credit, she was great. Super friendly, attentive, no complaints at all once she took over. The food was also really delicious. My main gripe is the size of this location. It's hands down the smallest Dave & Buster's I've ever been to. It honestly felt more like a mini version. Buy or reload a card with a coupon on a non-Wed (B20G20), then play on a Wed (1/2 price games). This allows you to play for much longer. We are usually there for 2 hrs for $20 each on a Wed. Still means $60/3 kids but a fun outing. Would be $180 without deal on a reg day, yikes! We always leave crazy over-stimulated and then walk to get an ice cream cone. Overall, food is meh, it's standard bar food done like a generic chain would. They were running a promo of 1/2 price food M-Th for members, so this was a bargain at $28+tip. Service is always a little slow and lazy; sounds mean but it's just accurate. Servers just look like they are bored and not happy to be there. I love playing games. They do seem to regularly switch out my favorites in lieu of games that you try to win and collect cards. Stopped into Dave and Buster's for an impromptu date night, after we saw an ad for their Wednesday night half off games! You spend the same amount, but each game costs half the usual number of "coupons", meaning you get more games for your money. Games: We honestly had a great time- games were almost all in working condition, and they had a ton of different options. There were several families here with a lot of kids, but there were so many games that there was plenty of room and stuff to do for everyone. Food/Drink: We shared a beer which are $5 for domestics during happy hour, although we paid $9 for a Stella Artois because we're out of the domestic beer we wanted. We did not have any food. Service: The guy at the front explained everything to us really kindly so we knew exactly what to buy. They're doing a "buy $50 gift card, get a $10 bonus card" deal, so we did that and then immediately used the $50 towards a game card, and he worked with us so we could have the deal! The bartender was really nice as well. Cons: Slightly dirty, as it's an arcade. Our beer also had a small crumb floating in it, which wasn't super appetizing. Some of the games were glitchy, but there was an employee working on one as well. We've been here before and had a great experience. After today, we will rethink coming back. A month or so ago, we reserved a table for 10 people for a kids birthday party. Today, more people showed up than who RSVPd. Very quickly, we had more people than seats. Our server wasn't telling us what to do about the overflow. She simply said that since we had people at a table next to us that was another servers section, we needed to divide up by who had tabs with her at her tables and who hadn't ordered yet. I tried to explain the situation but she left and didn't let me finish. I tried to explain to everyone what she said but it was loud and hard to hear. After a bit, the manager came out and yelled at us to sit down so they could get our order. The thing is, the server had come by a few times and was selectively taking people's orders. She was missing half of the people even though they were seated. One family member asked a server if she could sit at a specific table and was told yes then was told by someone else the table was reserved and she needed to move. She moved to another seat in the same servers section but they complained about that. Our drinks were never refilled for a single person in our party. My mom got the cauliflower and said it was not appetizing nor were the sliders my cousin got. My son did have fun playing games, but the staff were not pleasant at all. I don't know if we'll be back to this location or not just because of how rude the manager and server were. There was no need to yell at us, especially when she didn't even know the full story about the service we were receiving from the server. At one point I told the server it was 3 of us on one check and pointed to who. She walked over to someone completely different and never took my mother's order. I understand it wasn't what was planned with how many people showed up but I tried to help fix it and she couldn't tell me how to make things easier on her before sending the manager out there. Some I have never seen before. Life size hungry hippos was so much fun. Dualing basketball was a new one we really enjoyed. The service here is abysmal. It's not a one time thing but every time I come here. The bartenders are not friendly or attentive and it's really sad. The food is usually mediocre and slow to arrive. I only return to this location because it's close and I like the games. One positive I can say is that the green ghost glow kone is delicious and they let you keep the cool light up ice cube. They don't post the price of their drinks but you can see the calorie content. They have a connect four basketball game that is super fun and my favorite, time crisis. They have a cornhole game I like but it's been out of order a few times or operating very slowly. Mario kart is often broken as well as guitar hero. The prizes are pretty good and range in appeal. I do like that you can check your tickets yourself and reload your card. Dave and Busters here was a 4 stars, perhaps 3 in some ways. It was a good combination of a place where you can eat and play games with friends and family. Adequate seating for most and a good variety of the latest arcade games to play. With a darkened interior lighting, the games light up the room well. The employees were okay. They helped and greeted, but not anymore than they had to. You know, that high school/college type worker that'd greet you, and then turn around the next second to continue chatting with their co-workers. With that said, there is one worker there that I give high regards to. Her name was Chelsea and she was our waitress. She was upbeat, very friendly (leagues above the other workers), and more than happy to help with any request we had. My boyfriend and I did eat there and the foods were excellent for all things considered. It was hot and well cooked, nothing rushed here despite how busy they were. The only issue was that the dish my boyfriend originally ordered, they couldn't make (out of ingredients I assume), so he had to choose another. Chelsea apologized for the inconvenience, gave a few suggestions, and gave him extra spices since he wanted it spicy. Gaming wise, it was awesome! They had plenty of higher end gaming machines and newer ones. Games like Kung Fu Panda (where you hit the pads to hit the objects on screen), a jet fighter simulator (though controls were a bit delayed, but a nice setup), and my boyfriend's favorite; a wall of light orbs that'll light up and you hit them as fast as possible within a time limit (they light up for short periods of time and at random locations). Of course, they had a few classics you'd fine at other arcades such as Donkey Kong and basketball too. Also worth mentioning, everything is done on a card, so all your credits to spend and tickets are digital. Very clean system. The reason why this place gets a 4 (or 3) and not a 5 star rating is because most of the employees service were sub-par, the noise level was a bit too much (expected), running out of food is a possibility, and the number of games available could be more. This is also the venue when the boys first met. I've always had a good time here save for one time I met a bizarre co-worker and his girlfriend from Syria. I even have a fond memory of playing cards against humanity here. I've always managed to have a good time. CON'S: The food is very basic. Back up the Performance Food Group truck and open a can or a box. Typical junk quality food. The crowds can be overwhelming. You are literally among a herd of wild animals at the watering hole. Located in Glen Allen, it is nestled among many shoppes and homes/apartments. There is street parking and a free garage nearby. There are many food options and many include a play card. Sarah, the server, was pretty attentive and nice to us. It was super busy when we went there, but we never felt neglected. She got us everything we needed in a timely manner. The food was ok - My steak was kind of dry/burnt. I didn't eat much of it. My kids had fun though, so that is what meant the most to me. I just wish there was a better variety of games. They have games pushed against the wall when you first walk in and a whole bunch of games crammed together in the inside of the arcade. No space to move between games. Dave and Busters is one of my favorite places to go for fun in the Richmond area, though unless you plan it well, it's going to be pricey. Also, as someone who was spoiled by going to the Bethesda, MD location in the past, this location doesn't measure up to it. I had dinner and played games with a lady friend here last week and it was very enjoyable. The food was stellar (wish I had taken pictures) and, since I brought a buy one get one entree coupon, the price was definitely right. My receipt even allowed me to fill out a survey so now I have a free appetizer coupon for next time I go. Great deal! Wish they gave out the BOGO coupons more than once or twice a year, though. While I had a coupon for $20 for $40 worth of gameplay, the credits still didn't last very long. They've raised the credit costs (the money you're paying) of every game, and frankly, if the actual costs of playing each game weren't hidden by the veil of "it's credits not money", you wouldn't throw your money away on half of these. The one exception is the new fun "beer pong"-style game in the corner of the game area near the bar, it's a ton of fun. Your tickets won't take you too far in the redemption area, unless you really, REALLY like pixie stix. So, here's the scoop on savings: 1) Don't dine there without a coupon. It's great food, though you'll leave with an empty wallet. 2) Don't play unless you have a 20-for-40 gameplay coupon or it's Wednesday (half-price game night). If you REALLY want to make it work, charge a card with a 20-for-40 coupon on a non-Wednesday and then go spend them on a Wednesday (they won't let you use a coupon on Wednesday itself; if you do it as I mentioned, you basically get $4 of gameplay for every $1 you spend), and 3) Drink during happy hours. Their happy hours are a great deal and this is the BEST place to take girls (or effeminate guys) who love unique cocktails. In summary, if you're a smart consumer and a coupon guru, you'll come out of here feeling like a million bucks. If you go in couponless and without good timing, you'll leave reasonably happy, though minus that million bucks. Or at least minus quite a few. Overall: 3.5 stars --------- Pros: - Food is amazingly good and the portions are generous.
