Before we even set foot on the car lot, I had sent in all my documentation (Drivers Licence, Proof of income, residence etc.), Brian and John (I think that's the right name) checked my information, interviewed me for the loan and had an approval amount before even getting there. Although we chose a car we absolutely loved from the internet pictures, it happened to be about $4,000.00 more than our approval, but they worked with us, our down was only $500.00 more than for something in our approval amount, we received a much lower interest rate than expected. They deal with people from all walks of life, from those making minimum wage to those making over $150k a year...no matter what your situation, you're not brought in with a false sense of what you're approved for then sent to what I call the "Dog Pound" of ratty cars, you know up front before even going what you're approved for and are given a choice of late model, quality vehicles (in our case we were determined to get the one we fell for). Brian had the car we were interested in waiting for us when we showed up, handed us the keys for a test drive and when we returned, it was a matter of getting the car on our insurance, signing the paperwork, paying the downpayment and we were on our way!!! You will be treated with the respect and integrity you deserve, nothing hidden like 99% of the car dealers out there. Everybody was friendly, they make you feel like family, they're professional and don't pull anything over your eyes... If you're looking for a car, bottom of the barrel horrible credit or top of the chart excellant credit, you're going to get awesome treatment... Very professional and a nice man with good comm skills and great manner. I was having some trouble with the rear hatch sensor. It's activated when you wave your foot under it. It worked when I first got it but it's been about a year and I don't use it that much. Jack brought the 'expert' in and he demonstrated a technique I wasn't aware of. It works, now that I know the technique. An example of their attention to detail and my concern about an important but rarely used feature. I've never once regretted my decision to purchase this vehicle.

When I was first talking to Jaser (the main guy) I was guaranteed that if there was a major problem they would fix it. 30 minutes into my drive home the day I bought it and it overheats. So the very next day I come back and they offered basically no help. After a couple of weeks trying to get them to take back the car, that overheated the day of, they "agreed" to help. They suggested that I leave the car with them and they would sell it for me. I was told that the car would sell in 3-4 weeks. So after 3 months I came back and and the car was not on any list on their site, something they told me they would do, and the car was a mess. The battery was dead, the front left tire was completely flat... So they said that they would definitely get their mechanic there to look into it. They had the car for one year total! Literally nothing was done to it. They also in between this time recommended me to their mechanic a guy by the name of "Tariq" who told me that the car needed a new sensor. So i got the sensor replaced and then he told me HE had to be the one to replace it. So he replaced it with another sensor charged me $75 and told me it didn't work. After the year of them holding onto the car I called hoping to get some answers on their progress and was told that I need to get my car off their lot or they'll call the cops. Then, it sounded like the person on the phone was speaking to one of his friends when I heard "I'm so f***ing tired of this guy, lets just get a truck up here and toss his car" to which his buddy replied "I got a gut with a tow truck we can grab it now..." So needless to say I towed it home and have been learning to fix it myself. It still overheats. Anyway, back to my main point, I would not recommend this car company one bit unless you really want to learn how to fix a car. Your money would be better spent elsewhere. I would literally spend an extra $3000 somewhere else and get a car you can actually drive. I would rather have spent it buying 6,000 McDoubles from McDonalds than a car from them.

I told this to the (new) service manager, Mat Johnson when I got to the dealership. Matt called back a couple of days later, told me the fuel pump was dead, and I authorized a replacement for ~$1400 and asked for an oil change as well. It was an extensive repair: the fuel tank needed to be removed and the exhaust system had to be dropped to allow that to happen. On March 11th, I received a call from Matt at roughly 12:10pm telling me that I could pick up the car. I called him back and explained that I wanted to go ahead and resolve an existent coolant leak. Both repairs were "completed" on March 13th. The issues began when I went to pick up my car, with the assurance that the fuel pump and coolant leak had been resolved. Total cost was $1755.29. When I started my car, I immediately noticed a loud metal rattling sound. Matt and the technician who had worked on the car came out to look at it. The technician looked under the car and stated that he had forgotten to put a bolt back in. He put the bolt back in - which didn't solve the rattle - and then determined that he had damaged a clip that held the exhaust lines. It would probably need to be replaced. He tightened a bolt and temporarily fixed the rattle. He then apologized to me and said that he didn't hear the rattle during the test drive because he had his earbuds in. I was allowed to take the car home, and was told to call/bring it back in if the rattling started up again. It started rattling again on the way home, and Matt told me they could get it in on March 19th. Over the next few days, I started to notice the issues with the service. I pulled the oil dipstick and discovered that the oil had been overfilled; also, the work order showed that the technician had used 5W/30 oil instead of the 10W/30 the engine calls for. I was confused, because the car's oil cap literally says 10W/30 on it. The radiator was low on coolant and the overflow tank was empty. There was a used shop towel in my passenger seat, the cap for the valve on the fuel rail had been left off (I found it on my windshield), and my oil pressure was reading 20 PSI higher than it had been. I called Matt on March 18th at 10:54am, and told him of the issues with the service. I wrote down a list of what I had found (see picture), gave it to Matt, and dropped off my car again. I showed Matt the issues with the car, including the massive oil pressure spike; he blamed it on an aftermarket oil pressure sensor that I hadn't seen before. March 19th, I received a call from Matt telling me that the low coolant was caused by a 2nd leak. They didn't pressure test the system after resolving the 1st leak. The second leak was found on the intake manifold; I asked Matt how difficult that would be to fix, and he said, roughly, "I don't really want to get into something like that on a car this age, because something is going to break in the process." Matt also revealed that the technician had installed the mystery oil pressure sensor himself because he broke the original part while working on the car and had not recorded the incident on the work order. From there, Matt proceeded to belittle me and act in an extremely unprofessional and condescending manner. He waved the dirty shop towel that was left in my car in front of my face, pointing out that it wasn't actually all that dirty. I reminded him that the towel itself was a minor issue and was simply another example of the carelessness the department had displayed. He then picked up my note, waved it around, and said, sarcastically, "Well I just want to make sure we talk about it, because it was #9 on your list." Matt continued to be unprofessional, and pointed out that he had made the original tech work on my car from 8am-12pm to fix the issues. Everything was presented to me as though I was being done a favor; even though every service after the first was just fixing mistakes made by the service department.

This dealership is nothing but a den of scammers, ready to swindle you out of your hard-earned cash. Their mechanics? Nothing but liars. I reached out to inquire about a 2009 Volkswagen GTI with 85K miles, as advertised on Carfax. They assured me it was ready for a test drive. However, during the drive, the car behaved strangely, and a mysterious light popped up. When I questioned the Sales Manager, he brushed it off, attributing it to my driving on a rough road. Their mechanic magically turned off the light. They assured me the car was in excellent condition and well-maintained, but that was far from the truth. The Carfax history was sketchy, indicating no recent inspection. When questioned, they hastily explained that they had performed all necessary repairs after receiving the car as a trade-in. False assurances were given that any issues could be brought back for fixing--empty promises. After shelling out $8000 and driving home, the check engine light illuminated, and I discovered severe windshield damage undisclosed during the purchase. Upon contacting Juan, the Sales Manager, he requested I return the car the following week. Their mechanic, using ODB2, erased the check engine light, claiming they forgot to reset it after maintenance. Skeptical, I consulted another mechanic who provided a lengthy list of issues: steering wheel column problem, transmission malfunction (no reverse), cooling system problem, and mass airflow problem. Returning with a written diagnostic from an independent mechanic, I requested that they fix the issues. Speaking to Juan in Spanish, the mechanic confirmed the problems because using an ODB2 scanner he saw the same errors. He declared they wouldn't fix anything because they sold the car "as-is." I reminded him of their obligation to disclose all issues, per the law. In response, he exploded in anger, even threatening violence if I didn't leave. I walked away. Before leaving, their mechanic, at Juan's instruction, erased the check engine light once again. Doing extensive research on the car's VIN number revealed that it had failed safety and emission tests before being sold to me. I am now stuck with a car I can't drive because it is not safe to operate. I am also out of over $8000. I strongly advise staying away from this deceitful company. Save yourself the trouble and keep your money safe.

Needless to say, that was getting expensive. I told the guy at the front (who I presume to be the owner) and he responded "you definitely have a problem!" He further said that he would look into it. He looked up the belt in his system and cross checked it with the numbers on the piece of belt that I handed him. He had a NAPA belt delivered from across the street. After the belt was delivered he noticed that the belt was actually too long to leave room for adjustments. In other words, the belt would fit but detention adjusters didn't have any room left to make any additional adjustments. He told me that's what the issue was and he was going to go back across the street himself and get a shorter belt. This solve the problem permanently I hope. Think about it though. I took this vehicle to two other mechanics who just went by what their system said was the part and installed it whether it fit correctly or not then sent me on my way. These guys took the time to make sure that the part actually fit. They told me how much it would be up front and got me in and out in a little over an hour. I have nothing but good things to say about these guys! I highly recommend Hi-Tech Automotive!
