Hooray, Michelle has her own salon now!…read more I found Michelle in 2016 (when she was at Salon Bisoux) when I wanted to do a yearly Yuko straightening for my long, wavy in some places and crazy curly in one part of my hair. I can't blow it out (I actually had a round brush stuck in my hair once) and while I LOVE my flat iron, the damage that it does is not pretty. The Yuko makes my hair so smooth and soft it's like I had a hair transplant. Really, I walk in with crazy hair and walk out with the opposite. Instead of fearing rain and humidity, I have hair that looks like I just left the salon all of the time! I moved back to Boston in 2020, but knew that I would continue to have Michelle do my straightening because someone who doesn't know what they are doing will screw up your hair (trust me, that is what happened the 2nd time I had it done in Boston years ago). When you go for touch-ups, the product only goes on your new growth; Michelle goes bit-by-bit to make sure she isn't touching any bit of hair that has been previously straightened. Online booking is easy and you have no excuse for not making an appointment when you can book it at 3am if you are awake. Extremely Disappointing Experience with Zero Compassion…read more I had a haircut scheduled with Cara at 11:00 AM today. At 7:00 AM that morning, my 3-year-old daughter woke up with a 104.2 fever. Any parent knows that means an immediate call to the pediatrician or urgent care. At 7:15 AM, I emailed the salon explaining the situation and asked if I could please reschedule to next week. Their response was simply that their policy requires charging 50% of the service cost for missed appointments, and that they would "gladly reschedule" once the fee was applied. (see image attached) While I understand that businesses have cancellation policies, this response felt surprisingly rigid given the circumstances. Then, about 20 minutes before the appointment, my daughter began violently vomiting everywhere, making it impossible to bring her with me and confirming that she needed immediate medical care. Despite all this, I still went to the salon briefly to explain the situation in person, hoping that speaking face-to-face might allow for a little understanding and how they should consider extenuating circumstances to retain customers. I explained that my child had a 104 fever and was now vomiting, and asked why there wasn't any flexibility. The front desk called the owner, but instead Cara came out to speak with me. What followed was honestly shocking. Her response was chillingly cold and essentially she said policy is policy over and over. Frankly, it was incredibly weird and off putting. There was no pause, no concern about the situation, no attempt to work with me -- just a flat statement that the charge still applies regardless of the circumstances. Mind you, at that point I was already in the salon, so it wasn't a cancelled appointment at that point. I was seeking non robotic clarification. She said it so many times that I felt pushed out. It was weird and creepy. I fully respect that businesses need cancellation policies. However, the complete lack of empathy or discretion in an obvious medical situation involving a small child was deeply disappointing. Policies matter. But how you treat people when real life happens matters more. If you choose to book here, just be aware that there appears to be no flexibility even for legitimate emergencies.

I got a call from the receptionist 20 minutes prior to my appointment telling me my stylist was running 15 minutes late. Upon asking how long it would take to be done, the receptionist called to tell me I should have booked a consultation and they need to cancel my appointment. I feel confused and treated differently because of my dreads. I don't recommend this salon. Never have I been to a new salon and have been asked to do a color consultation for a simple root touch-up and my natural hair is brown.

When I arrived for my appointment the receptionist informed me that Kelsi was out sick but Theresa was available to cut my hair and she was "just as good". I wish I had known that before but I was a new client and they didn't take my number when I made the appointment. I had to wait for Theresa to finish with her client but I didn't mind. Theresa's client left happy and she was immediately ready for me. She sat me in her chair and asked what I wanted. She confirmed that she was going to cut my hair to just below my collar bone taking about 4 inches off. She took the time to section out my hair and cut small sections at a time making sure they were even before moving on to the next section. I have a lot of hair but it is very fine so if you cut it uneven it is really noticeable. I was very pleased with the cut. She also blew out my hair in sections which a lot of stylists don't bother to do since the texture of my hair is so fine. I would recommend Theresa and Envy Salon to my friends. It is brand new, clean and the staff is friendly. It is kind of hard to find, you have to go down the steps and around to the back of the building and they are not listed on the building site map yet.
