    Tuesday special - 10oz Prime Rib ($49)
    Sylvia Y.

Glowbal has been a long time establishment in the downtown Vancouver neighborhood, surprisingly enough, this is my first time at Glowbal though I do love the menus & service at the other restaurants under this chain of establishment. The location is super central close to both the Canada and Expo lines for easy commute to and from - which made it a perfect dinner location on the odd work day. We came on a Tuesday and they had a great 10oz prime rib deal. The surface is offered table side and the guarantee that you were always offered more but no less than the 10 ounce stated. Was offered with a side of greens and a Yorkshire pudding. The prime rib initially looked a bit fatty, but was cooked so tender and juicy. It was very satisfying to have more than anything I could do at home in my books - worth! We were seated in the covered patio space and it was cozy & vibey complemented with FIFA live broadcasted. Service was a teeny tad rushed but all else, our dining experience was fine. I'd say Glowbal is a steady and stable dining option, not much flare or surprise, just solid which is good enough.

We came to Glowbal for the Buy Up Before Time's Up dinner and overall had a mixed experience, although there were definitely some highlights. Before our reservation, I had added a dietary restriction note explaining that I don't eat raw seafood. Since the appetizer choices included freshly shucked oysters, smoked salmon, and a West Coast seafood salad, I was hoping there might be some flexibility to have a seafood option fully cooked. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told they weren't able to accommodate the request. I was honestly a little disappointed because I was really looking forward to enjoying the seafood portion of the menu. The manager suggested ordering the calamari separately from the regular dinner menu, which I appreciated. The calamari tasted good and was nicely seasoned, although I found it a little too oily for my preference. I just wish there had been a cooked seafood substitution available within the set menu, especially since seafood was such a big part of the experience. Thankfully, the main course completely turned things around. The tiger prawns were fantastic, and the steak was excellent , definitely the highlight of the night. We had been to Glowbal before last year, and I actually thought the steak and prawns were noticeably better this time. The steak was cooked really well, flavorful and satisfying, and the prawns were delicious. Overall, I enjoyed the main course a lot and could definitely see the improvement compared with our previous visit. I was just disappointed with the lack of flexibility around the raw seafood options, especially after mentioning the restriction in advance. I understand that promotional/set menus can have limitations, but having even one fully cooked seafood appetizer alternative would have made the experience much better for me. The steak and tiger prawns were fantastic and absolutely worth highlighting. I just wish I could have enjoyed the seafood appetizer portion of the experience as much as the main course.

Fun and beautifully decorated for Christmas. We went for brunch and had a great meal. Food was a little slow but they gave complimentary smoothie shot and mini donuts to all tables. The $12 Benny was a great deal and the chicken and waffle was made perfectly (although we thought there was too much going on with the butter and bourbon syrup) Their side of bacon was a good try as it was cooked well and had a perfect smoky taste.

I don't know why people are so angry at this place lol they deserve much better rating. Went there for the 2 ppl dinner deal, it was amazing. I was so full I couldn't walk afterwards. The steak was amazing the fried rice was so delicious, I also really enjoyed the calamari. We thought the food wouldn't be enough so we added bread, it was so delicious but we made a mistake by ordering too much. The dessert was huge too, I didn't really like it since it was lacking some coldness element, maybe reduce the size of the cake then add a scope of icecream? Service is pretty good! It's a beautiful restaurant.

Cheap 12 eggs Benedict, complimentary smoothie and donuts. Not much more to ask for paid 40 for breakfast. Paid 80 in the states for far less. No waits for 10 am brunch

We came for happy hour on a Friday and the place was empty at 3:30pm Fried Mac and cheese ($12) - not enough cheese inside and the outside wasn't crispy enough Mussels ($15) - were kind of small and the portion was small too. Flavour was they were okay but nothing I would go back for Chicken foie gras ($18) - no foie gras flavour whatsover. The sauce was way too sweet and the whole dish just didn't go well together. The truffle fries ($10) - the truffle fries were the best thing of the night. Crispy and fresh We also has a Cosmo, a sangria and a martini all of which were not memorable and didn't stand out. Overall I would not recommend glowbal for happy hour. Their happy hour menu has a lot of options but execution wise it wasn't great. I wouldn't go back for it and would choose their sister restaurant Riley's instead

On our last trip to Vancouver, we were happy hour hopping and noticed this restaurant with a patio really close to our hotel and decided to check it out! We weren't starving since we had already been to a few places, but we stopped in for drinks. The patio we sat in was really cute, and our friends had oysters which they said were fresh. The service was great, and my absolute favorite part was the drink they can print a picture onto!! Not the best tasting drink at all, but having a picture of my dog in the drink was so fun! I would come back to try other happy hour food items. We had a great time.

Stopped in for drinks on a busy Friday night and the place was packed. Short wait before grabbing bar seats with a great view of the kitchen. The holiday Nutcracker whiskey cocktail was excellent with a fun smoked presentation. Drinks took a bit due to the crowd, but the staff was incredibly friendly and even brought complimentary prosecco (non-alcoholic for my pregnant wife) while we waited. One downside: the downstairs stairwell to the bathrooms had a strong odor--definitely needs attention.

The "54oz Canadian Angus Beef Tomahawk Steak" was bland and tough, even at medium rare. The "Glowbal Chop Salad with Chili Lime Vinaigrette" was aggressively sour. Not balanced, not refreshing, not delicious, just sour. The "Fried Brussels Sprouts" salad was punishingly salty. Not an enjoyable dish. Then came the complimentary surprise birthday cake slice. Nice gesture, terrible execution. The cake was tiny, basically a tablespoon sized sampler. That's not the bad part. Instead of a candle, they stuck a sparkler directly into the cake, the kind that shoots bright sparks into the air. It showered black combustion particles onto the plate and cake. Yum. Nothing says "happy birthday" like dessert dusted with pyrotechnic residue. The restaurant, food, taste, value, and planning get 1 star. The server gets 5 stars. Excellent service, and honestly the only redeeming part of the whole experience

Friday Burger and Beer lunch special. Burger upgraded to ultimate with avocado, bacon and mushrooms for $5 extra to total $25.

This place is amazing. And they have a great deal every day during happy hour Monday to Friday. It's usually a $20 lunch. My favorite is the Friday burger and beer and for another $5 you get avocado, bacon and mushrooms along with it. Shout out to Garbrielle for being an awesome server. The ambiance here is fantastic as this is Glowbal after all. If you're looking for an affordable weekday lunch, come to Global!

I went here tonight for a team dinner. This is definitely upscale prices so plan ahead, but tonight they were offering a 3-cource meal starting at $49 that came with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I thought this was a fantastic buy so this is what I chose over the $230 tomahawk lol. For my appetizer I started with the Burrata Salad. It came with a whipped ricotta on the bottom dotted with orange segments and roasted beets topped with a half a burrata, endive, puffed rice and pistachios. This was very tasty and well-balanced. I haven't had beets in years as I'm not a fan, and these were good. The burrata added great creaminess and the puffed rice added great texture. For my entree I ordered the strip loin steak medium with roasted brussel sprouts, a pomme puree, topped with a black pepper gravy. This was very tasty and my steak was well seared and tender. I loved the brussel sprouts and the black pepper gravy tied the whole dish together. For dessert I chose the creme brulee cheesecake and it was beautiful. It had wonderful fresh elements with fresh fruit yet the cheesecake was so creamy and not overly sweet. When you combined everything together with the blueberry compote it was delicious. This restaurant is perfectly located in the middle of the city and is beautifully decorated. Our waiter was fantastic and did a great job explaining the menu, and everyone got what they wanted. It would have been nice to have an additional waiter for our party of 16 to attend to everyone's drinks as some were empty, but other than that, we had a great night. A wonderful ending to a great trip.

Huge, gorgeous patio. I normally come for happy hour or brunch. I recommend both! Just recently came for the big cut Thursdays and got an enormous 54oz tomahawk steak plus sides for $165. They pour butter and then torch both sides tableside which is cool to see. It was amazing and the service is always really great.

Lovely service from Lauren and her colleagues who even gave us little stools for our purses and my big backpack. Little surprised by the slow food service though. Attended for a group brunch to start at 11 am although our mains only ended up coming out at 12:45 which was a bit nuts. Only ended up leaving at 3 which is quite a long time for brunch at a restaurant. Wish that they'd offered a smoothie option without dairy in it or could have substituted my juice for it. Pastries were quite lovely. Took 3 from communal plates before getting my Korean chicken and waffles which I enjoyed very much.

We came here for a Winnie the Pooh Afternoon Tea. Oh my goodness...it far exceeded my expectations!…read moreHats off to the kitchen staff for coming up with such a creative and whimsical afternoon tea. First thing that caught my eye was the cover of the afternoon tea menu. It was red with a picture of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin printed upon it in a shiny gold colour. When flipped over, it had the menu for the afternoon tea printed upon it. I was super impressed that they even had a separate menu printed for Vegetarians. (I opted for a Vegetarian menu). There was a cute little ceramic jar that was shaped like a Honey pot, and it had sugar cubes in it! Then there was this booklet that was pages long, and divided into Chapters. It was basically the menu again, but in the form of a small book. Each Chapter of the book described different foods from the afternoon tea. The last chapter listed all the different tea flavors one could choose. When we sat down and read this menu, I heard more than one person at the table say that they wanted to take this menu home. Guess what? For the price of $25, one could take this menu home as a memento of this extraordinary afternoon tea? Maybe I'm a bit of a sucker, but how often does one get to go to an afternoon tea as special as this? And I've always been a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh. So I coughed up the $25 and brought one of these menus home with us! Food was sooo good. I loved how warm the scone was when I cut it open. This was one of my favourite items. The sandwiches were amongst my favourites as well. As phenomenal as the experience was, I do think there are a few things which could have improved the experience. For one, a bit more service would have been appreciated. I had to wave my hand in the air to get our server's attention so that I could ask her to refill our tea pots with more hot water. Would have been nice if she'd just come around a bit more often and offered to top it up for us. Tea cozies on our tea pots might have been another improvement. A lot of my tea cooled down by the time I got to it. I like my tea hot but I didn't get in very many cups of hot tea as there was a lot of food to eat and by the time I was ready to pour myself some tea to wash down my food, the tea was...not so hot anymore. Oh, and while most of the food was appropriately sized, there was this one chocolate cookie sandwich that was really gigantic and suggested to be eaten last. We were so full already from all the other foods in the afternoon tea, and then to squeeze that giant cookie sandwich in...right at the end? A smaller and daintier cookie sandwich would have been preferred. It was overall a truly phenomenal experience. Yes, I do think it could have been slightly better, but I do emphasize the word "slightly". The points lost were so minor...I would still highly recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. It was well worth the money. It's offered every weekend for now but not sure how long they'll keep this around so if you're interested in a Winnie the Pooh themed afternoon tea, I'd make a reservation for it ASAP!

The setting is cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Staff was lovely and we were not rushed. Unfortunately they require full payment at the time of booking including a tip % automatically applied. I find this quite distasteful. It is one thing to pay a deposit to secure our spot ....but asking for the tip for a service yet to be provided is terrible. My friend really wanted to go and therefore I agreed to it this one time but I would never do it again.
