Very nice stay after a concert at Rupp Arena and conveniently located to downtown and the interstate. Check in was easy and they also have breakfast with a variety of options to choose from. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable and there 's a safe, fridge and microwave. Plus lots of space for working if you're on a business trip! The only thing that struck me as odd was the bathroom layout. It's very long and the toilet is all the way at the other end of the room. It just looks really funny and is a lot of wasted space. I am not sure why it was designed this way! Otherwise, would stay here again if needed. read more

AMAZING!!! My family and I stopped through on a road trip and we were in complete AWE! The decor was super up-to-date, hotel super clean, staff nice, beds super comfy, showers and all natural shower products were all natural and the kids raved about how soft their skin was after their shower...I, personally, am a serial reviewer and I feared, as a southern state we would experience some type of racism but it was completely different and I have absolutely NOTHING BAD to say about this place so glad we stopped here...we DEFINITELY will be back here if we ever drive through Lexington again! For the price (115/night) I would recommend. Stayed 21 days for 3 weeks of horse showing and they cleaned my room every day. Staff was nice and hotel was modern. Bed was comfy and shower was good. There's a lot to like about this hotel in Lexington! If Best Western is traditional, dependable and family-friendly, GLo is her modern, exciting, "cosmopolitan" sister. The curated decor and overall vibes are very similar to Hilton's Tru hotels. We booked our room through the Hopper app, which was quick and easy. This was a one night stay over Easter weekend, after a day of hiking further South at Red River Gorge. I called the hotel the day before to let them know we'd have our dog with us ... they were incredibly accommodating, and said that was no problem at all! We arrived around 5 p.m., and check-in took less than five minutes. There's plenty of grass around the property if you do have your pup with you. I did have to sign a pet waiver -- it basically stated that we wouldn't let our dog onto the bed, or bathe him in their shower, among other things. There's also a $30 pet fee per night. The room was clean, comfortable, and contemporary. We were able to relax after our hike, and freshen up in the large, walk-in shower. This hotel is located just outside of Lexington, but we had no issues hopping onto the highway and exploring some of the city. Our only issues with this hotel came when we were going to sleep. I'm not sure if the walls were just incredibly thin, or the guests around us were just extremely loud -- either way, we could hear the folks next door to us and above us all night long. While the AC in our room was functional, the fan was not nearly loud enough to cover up all of these unwanted noises. After tossing and turning all night long, I finally used my phone to play some white noise around 6 a.m. I've never experienced this at a hotel before, and definitely not at one that I spent more than $200 a night for. While it didn't ruin the stay for us, we certainly didn't leave on a high-note after not sleeping much. Again, I so appreciate how pet-friendly they were, but if we were going to stay here again, we would bring a box fan and request a room far away from other guests. read more

Stayed here just for a night, passing through the city. Everything was modern and looked relatively clean. The one thing I can get over are all the weird smells going on. In the evening when we checked in, the elevators smelled of cigarettes, and in the morning it smelled of a mixture of burnt food and cigarettes. When we got off the elevator, the hallway smelled strongly of chemical/cleaning supplies. And then when we got to our room, it smelled very strongly of wet dog. We went down to the desk and asked if they had any rooms that were specifically designated as pet free and they said no, which I thought was a little interesting. The breakfast in the morning was a typical mediocre hotel breakfast. Waffle maker, yogurt, juice, fruit, bagels, etc. everything was stocked appropriately. As updated as everything was, I would not stay here again. read more

We had 4 rooms at the Glo Best Western and enjoyed our stay. The prifessional clean lobby had staff present. The laundry room was clean as well as the breakfast room and elevators. I was terribly disappointed and only went to the pool once during my 5 day stay . The pool didn't appear clean and there were used band aids around the perimeter. Overall my stay was nice . New (3 months old) hotel. Art Deco modern design with clean lines. Very reasonably priced. Rooms are spacious with large shower and bathroom. Large absorbent soft towels. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Blackout shade is nice touch. Room amenities were great only addition I would like would be a magnifying makeup mirror. Check in procedure was easy and Brandon was very informative. We did not use or view pool. Super nice, new boutique hotel... we stayed here a few months ago overnight and following several hours of horrible traffic, we were ready to get off the road and relax. I had booked through a third party site online a couple of days prior based upon pics and reviews. The excellent rating and photos of the property, etc sealed it for me. I knew it would be nice based on what I saw, but I didn't know how nice it would be. After a crappy road trip, we needed a really nice hotel and this fit the bill. The concierge was great, super professional and friendly. The hotel property was incredibly nice, built only months earlier, so everything was new and modern. I loved the eclectic, semi art deco "boutique" design. It was sleek and modern. I was surprised that it was owned by Best Western. I haven't stayed at a Best Western in years. This is unlike any BW that I've rented until this vacation. Our room was spacious, well appointed and the bed was so comfortable. It was literally the best sleep that I've had in awhile. Their pillows were phenomenal. I asked the concierge what brand they were and where they bought them, they really were that good. I simply must get them now. I've never seen hotel pillows quite that nice before and I've stayed at five star resorts and even their pillows don't measure up. The bathroom also had the absolute best lighting to do makeup for a hotel room. The mirror came with LED lighting (the best to do makeup etc, it mimics natural lighting and rids the room of the ugly florescent glow), so I didn't have to go fix my makeup in the car (natural lighting) as I often do while on the road and staying at a hotel, the vanity was spacious and wide enough to fit all of my bathroom products and the shower head was great, so much so that the shower helped alleviate my migraine headache. The amenities were all terrific and the complimentary hot breakfast the next morning was actually quite good. I ate so well that I didn't even much else until late evening. Complimentary free WiFi was fast and reliable (better than most hotels), the hotel amenities (bathroom toiletries, pool, gym) were very nice and check in and check out were both a breeze. Everything was first rate and the price was very competitive (less than $100). We'll definitely stay again if we're taking another road trip down that way. read more

Stayed overnight with our children on a cross country road trip. The hotel was really impressive. Amazing price for what you get. The lobby is huge and clean. The rooms were really big and quiet. There is a special shout out to the front desk woman working when we arrived, she was exceptional with helping us with check in, getting a playpen for our baby, and interacted with our children in the sweetest way! We booked this hotel for a short weekend getaway. We had two rooms booked for 6 people. Check-in was very easy and we found our rooms quite nice. They were clean. They had lots of plugs and USB ports for phone charging. The shower was nice, just needed more water pressure. We had to sign up for a time at the pool. The pool however was very cold. The staff was friendly and nice. We had a wonderful visit. read more

Front clerk is incredibly rude! We arrived and our door was propped open, it had been open from the point we got the room ready text to the 4 hr later arrival. Rather than immediately offer another room she said that's not good enough reason to offer another room as well as stating there are no other rooms in the beginning of this interaction. Husband stated we want a refund we're not staying here bc she kept implying that he was too "afraid" to go in there, being super unkind, uncourteous, and actually just flat out rude to someone who had a genuine concern....she says no that's not a good enough reason to get a refund. She then tells corporate who played the mediator bc they're good for nothing else in a situation where you have an issue, that we refused a new room. No. No. No. This woman clerk waited until we were about out the door to say if we wanted a new since he's too afraid of this one (patronizing him from the begging to end...) to the point if we had stayed we'd have to keep walking past her or interacting with her?! Like who wants that!? How is that hospitable! She should not be in the hospitality business she was crazy with her facial expressions, was so unhelpful and patronizing, and at one point gave my husband her number instead of the managers to call her when we asked for his, she hung up on him lol. If she had just said oh we can switch your room that's no problem from the VERY beginning and not made it a huge deal while demeaning my husband for not "being scared," but being protective (ppl put cameras, take things, damage property in compromised rooms all the time) instead this woman practically berated us then lied to her management, lied to corporate, saying they refused another room, that wasn't it. So we left and had to leave with my 5 year old who was visibly in tears crying bc he was so excited to stay here bc the first thing he seen on our arrival was the pool. Sat in the car forever trying to find some where new with a baby and a very upset 5 year old, repeating I wanna stay here, about 300$ wasted bc they refuse to refund our money (on top of more money for another room.) If you have an issue here they won't refund you, will be rude to you about solving the issue, and corporate isn't able to make any changes bc "we just mediate we don't deal with the branches billing." From the moment you walk in there is a pleasant smell greeting you. We were then verbally greeted warmly by night management. They requested masks, wore masks themselves, and had shields up. Coming from a huge metropolitan area that actually believes in science we appreciated this. We quickly checked in and heading to elevators that are quite close to the front desk. Once in our room with no carpeting (love this) we felt comfortable. The beds were absolutely great and provided and nice restful sleep. Room appeared really clean. The rooms echo so our two year old seemed to make a monumental amount of noise. Our only gripe about the room and decor is the sliding bathroom door. It looks nice and all but isn't very private. Planned a "Girls Trip" for the Eagles concert in the middle of November 2023. Didn't know anything about Lexington or Rupp Arena. The first hotel I booked didn't have a room for 2 nights instead of 1 (plans changed on our end) so I had to find another hotel. I called GLo, and talked to the 2nd shift desk clerk, Amara, who was very kind, polite and friendly. She booked us for the 2 nights and said that she would help us with an Uber or Lyft ride to the concert when we got there. Sure enough, when we arrived, she greeted me by my name and made check-in easy (thank goodness because we drove 4-1/2 hours to get there). So off we trotted to our room, impressed with the staff and the unique decor of the hotel! And the cool blue light outside . . . The room was spacious and CLEAN! (Kudos to the maid service) and the bathroom was the biggest I've ever seen! The showerhead was a delight (like a waterfall) and the 3 of us had such a good night's sleep in the oh-so-comfortable beds. The next 2 days we had the hotel breakfast, which was tasty, plentiful and had a nice variety. The day of the concert we received assistance from our hotel staff (which we were starting to regard as new friends) to get a ride to the concert. Amara even walked out with us and told the driver to "take care of her ladies" and for us to have fun. It was sad when we had to leave; and vowed to have another Girl's Trip to come back!!! We will definitely stay at GLo again, with Amara and the 2 first shift ladies that were fabulous as well (I hate it that I did not get their names as well - my mistake). I did tell the manager about his fabulous ladies - they are all gems. All-in-all our stay was EXTREMELY ENJOYABLE and RELAXING; best hotel I've ever stayed in. Whenever I've traveled with my puppy, I've always expected the worst. With Glo Best Western, I got the best! We had never been to Kentucky before and needed a hotel that was dog friendly for our friend's wedding. The Glo is just a short drive from downtown, race grounds, and the Bourbon trail. There's a Cracker Barrel in walking distance which is perfect for an early dinner before the night on the town. Glo Best Western is not only dog friendly, but they also have stairs accessible from the inside and outside, continental breakfast, a big field for dogs to roam around behind the hotel, and laminate floors so rooms don't smell like dogs. It's also a newer hotel to the area, so everything was very clean, sleek, and modern. A great find during our stay in the Lexington area. read more

Kind of a Monet....looks nice from far away, and in pics, but poor quality in person. Tiles don't quite line up, slide door doesn't fully cover the opening for the bathroom door, sheets and pillow cases have runs in them, and need replaced. Quite a lot of foreign hair found throughout the room. Toilet seat was broken. It was late and we have two little kids, so not complaining and switching rooms. And, the whole place smelled weird. The facility allows pets, so a saw at least a half dozen dogs. Stay away if you have allergies. Breakfast in the morning was fine. I would give it a B- for hotels of this caliber. The breakfast area was super dirty, but we arrived during the last 60 minutes, but they did not keep it clean. All the people on staff we interacted with were friendly. Overall, would not stay here again. read more

So impressed with this hotel and its response to covid. Very clean. Still had its pool open by appointment and had a buffet breakfast that you had to use gloves and masks to get your food. worst hotel I've ever stayed at!!!!! the walls, floors, ceilings are paper thin. the person above us was pacing at 5:00 am and it woke us up 3 mornings in a row. someone next to us was snoring and we could hear them at 2am. a bunch of kids were running up and down the hallways knocking on the doors at 11:30 pm. I called downstairs to report each incident and asked to move to the top floor and was told there wasn't anything available. every time I came to them asking for resolution, I was met with "so sorry...." we will never stay there again!! read more

Definitely glad we chose this motel for our overnight stay. Room was clean and the fact there was no carpet in the rooms was nice. The beds were comfortable and we requested a top floor room to avoid noise from above. Wasn't able to check out the breakfast in the morning but several were taking advantage of the free breakfast. For under $100 for the night probably the best motel in that area. The Cracker Barrel is right around the corner so great place to stay. read more

Never even got to enter our room. When we checked in and went to our room, the door was propped open. We didn't enter and went back down to the front desk and informed her of it. She stated the cleaning lady "probably" for got to close it. Which is probably true. But keep in mind we received a message our room was ready at 2:30pm. We didn't arrive until 6:00pm. So it was open that entire time. I asked for a different room and she said there were no other rooms. So then I asked for a refund because we were not staying there and she stated it wasn't a good enough excuse to get a refund. She was very rude the entire time and kept stating if your to scared to go in the room that she would look through it. I had a 15 month old and a five year old with me. It just seemed sketchy, and in todays world you don't know what people are capable of. I asked for a manager, and of course she was the only one there. As we were walking out she stated she could switch our room with someone who isn't scared to go in that room. This was after she stated we couldn't get a different room multiple times. I went back in to ask for a number to call to speak to someone higher up. She gave me a card, and when I called the number it went to her desk! I asked to speak to the manager and she hung up on me! Lol. I was standing outside the hotel at this point. We booked through Expedia, supposedly GLO is refusing the refund. Because she is saying she offered us another room and I denied. I was never confrontational, me or my wife just didn't feel comfortable with that room. She was hostile the entire time. read more

Traveling with two dogs who bark at unfamiliar noises, I requested a room far away from other guests. I received a response from the manager that it would be my responsibility to make sure to keep the dogs quiet. I booked a non refundable stay so I called to see if they would cancel my reservation. The same manager argued with me for about 10 minutes then changed my room to one on the top floor making it difficult for me to take the dogs out and all night long guests were coming and going until 1 am. Needless to say, I got no sleep and am out $200. I will not stay here again. The room was very nice though and the hotel extremely clean. read more

My first Yelp review ever, which says something about my impressions of this fabulous hotel! Was greeted with a warm smile by the young lady at the counter. Check-in was super quick and easy. And the rooms...best in this price range I have seen in a long time ($89 with AARP discount). Super clean and modern with a nice Art Deco touch. The hotel looks pretty new. Beds had clean fresh looking linens without that ugly comforter. Nice sized pillows (not the tiny chiclet sized ones in a lot of hotels). Mattress was firm enough to provide good support yet soft enough to be very comfortable. Loved the pull-down window shade. It fits into a track all the way around the sides and bottom so it blocks out all light. First time I've seen one like it. Bathroom was super clean and was accessed through a nice sliding barn door with a large mirror. Sparkly blue counter tops. Nice vanity lights all the way around the mirror. Shower had glass doors instead of the usual curtain. Nice waterfall style shower head with an extra removable shower head. Shower floor was clean and had a nicely textured non-slip surface that was very comfortable to my bare feet. It even had a side drain rather than a center drain which seems like it would help keep dirt/germs from accumulating in the spot where you stand. I liked the hard floors instead of carpet for cleanliness. Plenty of electrical and USB outlets on the desk and night-stand. Kerurig coffee maker. In-room safe. Mini-fridge. Large flat screen TV on the wall. It's like they thought of everything a traveler wants and needs when they designed these rooms. They really paid attention to the details that help keep a room clean, comfortable, and practical. Seriously, if $90-$100 is your price range for a room, stay here! If you pay $120-175, stay here and get a room just as nice and save a few bucks! read more
