I've been doing business with GMP for quite a while now. I have a 2015 VW GTI S. I used to call and talk to Richard for any and everything with my car, but he then moved to manage their new location in Lake Norman. Now, I call Matt for everything and the level of care is the same. They take fantastic care of me always. They're good guys with lots of knowledge about what they're doing. I always enjoy spending any time there because they're friendly and they do work on my car as if I were doing it myself. They put that extra level of care into it that you don't often find anywhere else. If you're one of those people that doesn't like to leave a message and just wants to talk to someone every time you call, like me, then good luck because they're usually pretty busy. I don't blame them for taking a while to answer the phone or return a call. If you go into GMP, you can see that they're usually pretty busy. Often times the sales reps like Matt are very involved with how the mechanics are doing on each customers car that they're working with. This means that they'll often leave their desk and step into the garage to talk shop. This is a fantastic thing and they shouldn't be chastised for it when it comes to not returning calls right away. I first went to GMP in 2014 to get APR performance software for my Audi. It was a great experience and an awesome deal to get 75-85 extra HP and a ton more torque. If you have a German car you need to see them. They have been in business for many years (43 to be exact) and started as parts company. GMP = German Motoring Parts. I had the opportunity to return this month with my friend Sara. She also got her Audi "APR tuned" but they went above and beyond to diagnose and come up with an alternate fix for her taillight, saving her hundreds of $$. First of all beware if your taking an older vehicle in for service, it will not be handled with the same level of quality and professionalism as their high end clients receive. Had my wife's Audi in for a timing chain service as it was starting to make noise on start up. I have been working on these cars for many years but this issue was a bit out of my capabilities which if not done correctly could result in replacing a motor. Initial quote and time line seemed reasonable, but ended up costing and taking much longer and communication between GMP and myself was lackluster to say the least. Went in to pick up the car after being told it would be ready and it was still totally disassembled. I did not have a warm and fuzzy feeling about this as I had been told they were having issues getting the cam timing set correctly, are you F******* kidding me!!!!! Car was finally done about two weeks later and many more dollars spent than the initial quote. Its been a about a year after this service was done and my wife's car was not running up to par, PCV system was not working as there was excess vacuum at the oil fill cap. Discovered damaged lower PCV hose which was pieced back together with rubber hose, this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!!. Instead of calling and admitting they had damaged and replaced it they covered it up not to mention all the missing hardware they had neglected to put back on. I have seen this on my car as well after they had mis-diagnosed a stalling issue on my car as an intake tube issue, which the system was manufactured for my vehicle/ motor/ and model by CTS Turbo!!!! After further research and help from the great guys over at Dynamic tune, turned out to be the crankshaft position/ camshaft position sensors being bad WTF!!! I just hope the timing chain service was done correctly otherwise they will be replacing my wife's motor!!! read more

Called them, asked for quote for 60K service and battery replacement for my Porsche, was told "oo busy", would "get back to me". 'Crickets' now for 3days. He answered any questions I had and understood when I was forced to reschedule my appointment for mods and servicing. I had heard good things about GMP from within the car community since moving to Charlotte and I see why. I jumped into the European car world with a 2010 GTI, and after a few months I was itching to do a few things to it. I've known about GMP for a while, and part of what I knew was they work on some big $$$ cars like Porsche, Audi, BMW, Bentley, etc. However even though they do work on big budget builds, I still feel like I own a million dollar car when it comes to customer service. I've been in 3 times so far (Max in 2014, Michael in 2015), and they have both been very helpful with any questions I had... Every time I visit for service I stay in the waiting room, which is decked out with magazine plaques and racing seats, it's not unusual to have lunch with the happy employees (Thanks Michael!) Overall a very relaxed and fun car-loving atmosphere, with some serious machinery on the lifts... but never too busy to take care of the little guy in the GTI :) read more

Ordered a tubi exhaust online ,exhaust was drop shipped all the way from Italy. Exhaust came in a timely manner & no damage was reported. The order was shipped using fed-ex & I got the tracking number within a day of ordering--however where it goes south is you'll pay customs duty when the exhaust comes into the USA. I had intentionally planned on staging out our modifications over the year, but the proposal was so exciting that I could not wait and dove right in! These guys have done work for me on several cars, and each time I have been thoroughly impressed with the results. They take their time to do the job right, and they are serious about that. No air guns and throw-together jobs. Everything is hand torqued with the care of a professional race team. Stephen is the driver of this attention to detail. I called GMP performance and an Adam "Michael" O'Hare answered the phone. I ordered a tune for my diesel mercedes from Kleeman. It didn't work properly so I had to send it back twice. There were delays, etc. Through the whole process, Michael's customer service was second to none. I was unhappy with my purchase, but without Michael's thorough attention throughout the process, it would've been a nightmare. In fact, most people would be very unhappy because they didn't receive the product they wanted. Instead, I now have Michael looking for other products as I will use him and GMP for any performance upgrades in the future. I've dealt with many tuning houses in the past. I entered the euro car scene almost 5 years ago; First a BMW then an Audi and now a Mercedes. I'm a car guy through and through and have always done subtle performance mods to my vehicles, usually by me because I'm anal ;-) so it goes without saying that I'm very particular about who works on my cars. About 6 months ago I was looking to have a performance exhaust installed on my Mercedes and was introduced to GMP and Adam "Michael" O'hare. Michael was extremely helpful in locating me the right system for my car at the right price. They worked around my schedule and most importantly; did the job right. Since a few modifications needed to be made to the system so it would fit properly; they had to do some welding. Most shops would have taken the fast track and Mig welded the modifications, but GMP took the time to do a high quality TIG weld; not just so the welds would match, but so the integrity of the system wouldn't be compromised. I have to be honest, when you're spending a lot of money on your car, you want to know the people who are working on it care about the final product as much as you do. As for my second experience; I just went back this week and had 4 new Michelin Pilot Super Sports installed. (Here's where GMP shined again!). My car has staggered wheels (rear tires are wider than the fronts) and Michelin has had the rear tires on national backorder for almost 2 months (very discouraging). Michael knew I wanted to get the tires sooner than later, so he worked his magic and located the rears for me inside of a week! Installation and alignment was smooth and once again the price was right. Thanks GMP, I'll be coming back! read more
