Ham and Brie "baguette" was certainly not baguette. Horrible bread choice for a sandwich. Not labeled as gluten-free, but the bread crumbled worse that a typical GF. No idea what the idea behind the bread was for a sandwich. No cohesion; No bready toothfulness; no redeeming qualities as a bread. Well past the point of even considering it baguette. Crumbly (in the style of a continental breakfast biscuit at an off-ramp hotel). Dry. Flat. Crap. My disappointment is that the sandwich has been a staple for me. This one sucked. Service was fine. Deli people were there. Ambiance was fine--grocery deli.

Lots of people complained that WF is expensive, but it depends on what you are buying. Their 365 brand sells local products and is very affordable and the items are fantastic. Some that I particularly like are the instant coffee, great for my afternoon iced coffee drink; their pasta is wonderful and they offer many shapes, not just the norms, the cavatelli being one of my favorites; tortilla chips, black beans, Thai Curry cashews, veggie straws - just to name a few. Like all WFs, they have an exceptional prepared food area with lots of delicious mains and fixings. The one thing I'm not a fan of is the roasted chicken. I've bought dozens and they are always dry. Not sure what's up with that because everything else is really good. Bakery section has tempting treats, lots of grainy breads and even gluten free options. The cheese area is fantastic, always something new to try. Because of the prices, I can't afford to shop here for my everyday items, but I come when I want high quality meat, cheese, and produce. And my favorite 365 items. When items are on sale, Prime users get additional discounts, sometimes as high as 20 or 30% off. Great time to stock up on pantry items.

My education about wine came through my grandfather who made homemade plum wine that came from the bush outside his home. And my exposure to wine in NC is via the Muscadine... a thick skinned grape that grows in the South. It's a seeded varietal that gets its balance from the tallins in the skin. Shout out to Duplin Christmas Wine: they have a lot of offerings superior to that Barefoot garbage that seems to be ubiquitous. Anyhow, I like to drink a big glass of red at Christmas and Easter. And I am not a snob about boxed wine. I have been known to drink a glass or Box of Franzia blush Zin myself :) I was looking for Reunite Lambrusco, which was not available :(. This place has some cider selection that is pretty Epic... this 19 Acres cider is amazing. And New Seasons is the only place I see it. Along with blanc du blanc from Italy.
