If it's your birthday hopefully someone got you a slice of this.

The very best bake shop in Portland for pies, cakes and deserts! There is usually a line to get in but that's ok because you can stare at the rotating pie display in the window. They have a big selection of whole pies and cakes and pastries. You can also get slices. The chocolate silk pie is to die for, and worth every penny! The buttery pie crust pairs perfectly. This place is magical.

Loved this cute town where I stumbled across this bakery and I saw people lining up to get a piece of pie and coffee. Of course me being curious I must be missing out stood in line and im glad I did. The desserts were delicious and my cappuccino was strong and I ate all three in two days lol by myself. I might have shared my chocolate ganache brownie, but not my pistachio creme puff and lemon cake. Service was fast and friendly and the place was cozy. Even with outdoor seating so you can experience this cute town.

Very cute little pie shop offering an array of classics and seasonal treats! I've only been here once, so I was only able to try a few things...basically I haven't even scratched the surface! You'll need to come on several occasions so you can get a taste of everything they have to offer. Service was friendly, desserts are great, and the restaurant itself was tidy. Downsides: The seating area is VERY limited, I would suggest ordering to go. This place would not be good for large groups. Also, this place can get busy, expect a line!

I seen this shop on my way home and looked it up. The reviews were great so I stopped by Sunday afternoon. I'm not sure if it was due to it being the end of the weekend but I was not that impressed with the coffee or my pastry. I ordered a cappuccino, cinnamon bun, a slice of blackberry streusel pie, and the broccoli cheese quiche. I asked for extra cream or sweetener in the cappuccino but they forgot or didn't add it. The cinnamon oatmeal bun was really dry and a little overcooked. The blackberry streusel pie was great, the broccoli cheese quiche was just okay. The restaurant itself is cute and personable. The guy taking my order was nice. The coffee took a long time and it was not that busy. I am planning to give them another try in the morning to see if the other pastries are fresh. I would definitely return for the pie!

My brother and I ordered slices of the banana cream pie and the cranberry key lime pie. The banana cream pie was a bit disappointing. I didn't like the pie crust, which I usually find to be the best part of pies. It was too hard. The banana cream part was good though. The cranberry key lime pie was unique to us! They used fresh cranberry, which was good. I didn't think the key lime taste was overly sweet or tart. The graham cracker crust was better than the crust they used for the banana cream. My brother did find a metal cardholder thingie inside his slice of pie, which we returned and they were very apologetic.

Went to celebrate my birthday and we'd heard/read amazing reviews so had high expectations. It was a rainy day so the interior felt extra warm and welcoming. I appreciated that they use real plates and cups instead of disposable ones. The downsides: 1. the line was long, for something that's premade. All they're doing is warming up some slices? Service was pretty much non-existent. We waited so long I thought they forgot our order. 2. The pie was underwhelming, we even got a second slice (waited in line AGAIN) to give them the benefit of the doubt. Slices are TINY for the price, and the crust was meh. The upsides: 1. There's a coffee refill station that's self serve, but they were so busy that no one refilled it once while we visited. 2. The interior is cute and cozy. I can see it being a nice date spot. Not too loud to have a conversation. Maybe we didn't order the right items? I would come back if someone else suggests it but maybe not on my own.

Our (now) favorite place for pies in PDX. Delicious pies of all stripes prepared with care. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

Okay went back and had some pie and cinnamon rolls. I love the cinnamon rolls and have a hard time not going every weekend to get one. Husband has loved every piece of pie he has tried. I tried the pumpkin pie and yes it is good quality but I still like mine more but personal preference so no stars off. Oh and almost forgot we recently got a piece of the chocolate cake. Wow! It was amazing and can't remember the price but less expensive than most places in town. Oh so dangerous so close to my house.

Such a nice pie shop. So many pies to choose from!!! My friends and I got 3 to split. In order from my most favorite is the lemon bar, banana cream pie, and apple pie. For the apple pie it was alright, I wish that they heated it up. The banana cream pie was amazing, it was fluffy and perfect. The lemon bar was AMAZING! I love a good lemon bar. The crust was the perfect texture and the lemon flavor wasn't overbearingly sweet.

When I want dessert, LJs is always my go to. I have tried almost everything, and it's cheesy to say but everything is amazing. Service is always so kind, and this is where I take every visitor.

I'm a huge sweets girl, so when I stumbled upon this highly rated pie spot, I was excited to try it. The line was long, everyone seemed happy, and the reviews were glowing, so my hopes were high. I grabbed a few pies to share with the group so we could try a bit of everything: key lime pie, cookie dough cake, a brownie-style pie, and a dark chocolate sea salt bar. I wish I could say I was impressed, but honestly, I was underwhelmed. The brownie pie was the only standout--it was sweet and moist. The key lime pie tasted mostly like whipped cream, the cookie dough cake was dry and a bit stale, and the chocolate bar was just okay. I'm sorry to all the Portland locals who love this place, but it didn't live up to the hype for me. P.S. These pictures make it look 10x better. I was probably just as excited as you at one point

Strawberry short pie. Oh so good!
    Spam M.

I'm not a huge fan of pies, but their strawberry short was probably one of the best pies I ever ate. It wasn't overly sweet, the strawberries were perfectly ripe with the right amount of custard, and the crust was oh so flaky. I'm so sad that I'm flying back home tomorrow afternoon and Lauretta's is closed on Tuesdays so I can't go back for one more slice of pie. I was also bummed that they were sold out of biscuits. Guess this is another reason to come back to Portland again!

Just go and get a slice, or 5, you won't be disappointed. Our slices made it home to LA and we enjoyed it with our family 3 days later lol

Walking in less than an hour before closing, we were surprised to see most of the items still in stock! We ended up picking four things to try: Vanilla Bean Kouign Amann ($7) - This pasty has a sweet yet salty exterior that's complementary in flavor rather than clashing. It's accentuated with a crunchy glazed and caramelized sugar layer that's on the sweeter side. The interior is interesting. There's a cavernous gap right in the center that's filled with a sickly sweet melted sugar syrup. It's unpleasantly sweet and very cloying. The puffed and filled area is large enough that it compresses the other layers so the kouign amann is dense. I've never had a kouign amann quite this sweet before. (3/5) Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Thyme ($5.50) - This cake is so moist and rich, thick and dense, fatty and rich, that it feels like I"m eating a slab of butter. I'm sure it has just as many calories too! It's quite sweet, although not nearly to the level of the kouign amann. Overall, it's just a really rich and decadent cake. (4/5) Blueberry + Vanilla Cream Brioche Donut w/ Earl Grey ($6) - The top of the pastry is dressed with a cream that has an unmistakably strong bergomot earl grey taste. I wish there was way more cream - there's essentially only a dab on top! The rest of the donut is filled with a custardy light blueberry and vanilla jam. It's not too sweet and has an excellent high quality blueberry fragrance, creating an exceptionally strong blueberry taste. The jam is not too thick and is somewhat syrupy from sugar. The donut itself is really soft and extremely airy. It's the fluffiest donut I've eaten in a long time. (5/5) Raspberry Rose Cruffin ($8.50) - This pastry has some fun dehydrated raspberries sprinkled right on top of a light and fluffy cream that's not too sweet. The cruffin base is buttery in taste and great lamination even when filled with the custard and rose/raspberry cream. This is a heavy cruffin that's very filling. (5/5) Twisted Croissant certainly does some some really delectable treats. It's one of my favorite bakeries in Portland!

Crispy, airy, buttery and oh, so delicate, my raspberry cruffin was the dessert dreams are made of! If you've never had a cruffin... what are you waiting for?! It's croissant dough baked into a muffin shape. And the particular version I ordered today was filled with sweet and creamy vanilla custard and raspberry jelly. My mouth is watering describing this now, a true sign I'll be returning to experience this delicacy time and time again. There are three locations of Twisted Croissant in Portland, and this is the only one I've visited. The interior has a classic Parisian bakery vibe, clad in white subway tile from floor to ceiling. The bakery case in front of the store is beautifully stocked with fresh pastries, perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. However, be advised, there are only two tables in the back of their public space, so it's not particularly inviting space to sit and enjoy your breakfast. Given the location, I assume there is outdoor seating in the summer months, but don't quote me on that. Regardless, run here if you haven't been. These baked goods are worth the visit!
