So much fun, we felt like Indiana Jones on a real mission! The staff really made us feel at home. The game master gave us a quick rundown and turned us loose. We immediately felt like we were on a quest to find and release the Raven to its rightful place! You really had to be on every puzzle from the get go!! There was no time to spare! Plenty of puzzles to solve from room to room. It's definitely a room for three or more people because some moves require at least 3 people!! You're going to need at least 3 brains to figure this one out!! Great way to spend the day with family and friends!!! The staff was terrific and very COVID-conscious! So you felt very comfortable. The props and special effects were phenomenal! Definitely, get up and do this one! It'll have you coming back for more!!

I've done two rooms here and the experience is nothing short of magical. It always feels like you are walking onto a movie set! The decor is so elaborate and the way the rooms are laid out they seem to utilize the space brilliantly! Located at Stony point mall, it looks intriguing from the outside and from the moment you step inside you are instantly transported to another world, surrounded by characters who are there to guide you through your journey! What also great is that you can choose your level so that the room suits your needs from the novice to the well seasoned. Now I'm no newbie to the escape room genre but advance is pretty difficult... if you are not solving most puzzles within 5 minutes there is a good chance you will not make it out! Good luck and have fun!! I know I plan on returning to do the rest of their rooms.

Gnome and Raven is the crème de la crème of escape rooms! We have come in on 2 occasions with 4 people (2 couples) and have been blown away each time. For 4 of us, it's about $37.50 per person, but it's worth every penny. Rooms are creative, impeccably decorated and staged, entertaining, and really transformative. Their staff is incredibly dedicated to their roles (costumes included!) and are very kind and funny as well. We were entertained, challenged, and we're very happy we spent our money and time here. We have been to several all over Virginia, and this is by far my favorite place. I would highly recommend to anyone who thinks they'd enjoy an Escape room!

Holy buckets of Wanderlust this place is Uh*Maze*Ing!! I know what you're thinking it's an escape room- how can anyone mess up an escape room??!! People literally come to escape rooms to bond, solve a few puzzles and have fun. Well Gnome & Raven manages to check all of "let's have fun boxes" and kicks it up a notch. First of all we have to take about the ambiance- I LOVE it. Its warm, and inviting yet mysterious and wander lusty all at the same time! Oh and the game master needs to be nominated for an Oscar because homeboy is all the way committed. We did the Wizards Castle room and our Game Master was dressed up as a Wizard! His accent and enthusiasm about our "mission" made the escape room adventure an experience I will never forget. Look I could go on and on but why let me have all the fun??!! Come check it out for yourself!!

Hands down the best escape room experience I have been to. The experience I had was very elaborate with tons of moving parts and 4-5 rooms within my one escape room. The guide is dressed up in theme with whatever room you booked and they are very helpful. There was a decent amount of themes I could choose from when booking. I can't wait to come back and do another one. If you do them all, you get a little prize. What I liked about this company was that you could choose the difficulty level for the room you booked, so depending on the experience level of your group you could change the room-solvability. There were packages you could buy for the experience, like if you wanted a birthday cake. For a group of 6, it was about $180, so about $30 a person. It is a bit on the pricy side but worth it. The establishment is in a mall, it is not a free standing building. Overall, a great experience and would 100% do again.

Gnome & Raven is a immersive escape room experience that makes you feel like you are in a movie! I was worried it was only for children- but we went as a group of 4 adults and had a blast! It was not too easy and I think we only had 10 minutes to spare when we solved it. We did the "Tomb Ruins" but had so much fun we will be going back for the all 3 other rooms as well!

It's located in the mall so plenty of parking. The staff helping with set up and intros were nice an made things easy. For this room we started handcuffed so it took a little longer than normal to get set up. No spoilers obviously but these rooms were very intricate. We needed a lot of nudges and some extra help but we luckily got out. Lots of interesting puzzles and locks here. We were very big fans and would love to try the rest of the rooms!

My husband and I did the Dr. Ensaine and the Bank Heist escape rooms. We did Dr. Ensaine first, which is level medium for difficulty. This one we thought was harder, especially since some of the writing on the objects was pretty worn down so it was hard to read it. I also wasn't sure how you were supposed to connect a couple things without a hint or nudge. This was has a creepy undertone to it but nothing pops out or no one comes out at you, which I was waiting for so that also through me off. The location of this escape room is also in the middle of the others so you could hear other people well which was distracting. We were able to finish even though our 60 mins was up and we finished 3 mins over. Princess was our game host for this one. We came back the next day to do the Bank Heist which was rated 2nd hardest escape room they had. My husband and I loved this one a lot more and we actually made it out with 8 min 47 sec left to spare! This one was more up our alley I think with the types of puzzles and def wasn't scary at all. They used all different types of challenges that we hadn't seen before in other escape rooms. We definitely loved the Bank Heist more, but both were good overall! We had a couple different game hosts here. For 2 people it was $37.50 per person, for 3 or more it's $32 per person. Each room is private so you don't have to share with strangers. You get 3 hints per room but unlimited nudges. It was a lot of fun!

I'd like this place to succeed because it's…read moredifferent and fun but I think the price point is prob too high given the inconsistency of the experience. The first time we came it was on time and we loved the Dragon Tower escape room: it was the perfect mix of puzzle and action. This time we showed up 10 minutes early and they said they were running 5-10 minutes behind because of "cleaning issues". Well it turned into 20 minutes late so thankfully we already canceled our dinner reservations. I think it would've been fine if it wasn't $250 for a family of five for 38 minutes and the ninja trials escape room was not as exciting or interesting as dragon tower. Also one of the equipment pieces we were given was faulty so that made it less fun for one of us.

Pelagos VR is a fantastic addition to the area for unique entertainment, and there are so many…read moreoptions within it! Just as a quick rundown, there are three main types of VR here: the front area where you are strapped into a VR system and can run in place, a virtual escape room, and a VR action arena (large room with VR cameras on the walls and you can physically run around). I haven't tried the escape room and I liked the strap-in ones, though it's the VR arena that really elevates this place. So far I have done Patient Zero and several rounds of the Urban Assault in the arena, and it's an amazing experience. Between the excellent physical tracking, the true-recoil VR guns, and the actual movement in the real world mapping to the VR world, it is insanely immersive and easy to adapt to. It is quite exciting too: I was fortunate enough to participate in their latest tournament and it was chaotic fun from start to finish. The tournaments are a special treat because for now the entry fee is only $20 while the regular experiences run a fair bit more, so it's an insanely good deal for the amount of fun you're having. On top of the excellent experiences, I would be remiss if I didn't highlight their incredible staff. This is mostly a family-run place and it shows with how kind and personable everyone here is, with positive attitudes, a true love for what they do, and excellent mastery of VR tech and training new players. I have met the owner twice and he goes out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated for their visits. The most underrated part here is actually nothing to do with VR but actually their bar offerings: the happy hour here is every day of the week (including weekends) and you can get $4 beers (including a few local drafts) and very reasonably priced appetizers. If I were in the area and just wanted a quick beer with a friend before doing something else, I would absolutely come here for it at those fantastic prices. Since Pelagos VR is attached to the mall, there is plenty of lot parking very close by, so no issues there. Really the only drawback of this place is the price, particularly if you come by yourself or one other person as their price structure rewards larger groups. I would absolutely come here with a friend group because of that though a date night here would add up fast. I look forward to coming here again with friends, especially for the tournaments. This is one heck of an outing to look forward to! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Amazing and unique VR experiences, truly memorable in every way. - Multiple options, including stationary running, open arena, or escape room. - Fantastic staff who are kind, knowledgeable, and clearly happy to be there. - Excellent happy hour food deals, worth trying even without the VR. - Easy parking and access since attached to the mall. - Pricing for large groups and the tournaments are great... Cons: - ...though the cost for a small group (especially for only one or two people) is a bit prohibitive unless you have deep pockets. Their pricing is entirely reasonable given what you get for it, though this is really the only thing that keeps me from going every week. Maybe one day they'll have a membership or a punchcard pass option!
