I love Greek food and this spot is unique in that they have a build your own option. You can choose from a pita sandwich, rice, or salad and top with protein or veggies and finish off with salad/fries + a drink. If you prefer to just order something off the menu, they also have salads / plates for that as well. I enjoyed the fresh salad ingredients that they provided in my meal. The tzatziki sauce always hits the spot with their gyro style meat that was very flavorful. Definitely would try their platters next time since I love having pita when I get Greek food but the build your own option was only ~$10 so definitely a great value for what you get. I also got their fresh Greek yogurt with Greek honey. I've never seen this option on the menu of a Greek spot before and was definitely intrigued. It was very fresh and thick, my perfect type of Greek yogurt. The honey wasn't overly sweet either and was the perfect accompaniment to the yogurt. Although it was ~$7, they give 2 big scoops of yogurt. You can also choose a different topping but I choose honey. I also ordered roasted eggplant and grilled vegetables. I work at a medical office one of our representatives bought food from GoGreek on 08/09/2024. multiple employees from the office already had taken a bite from both the chicken and the pork kebab to realize that both meats were undercooked, pink, raw and some still had blood, as shown In the picture below. We decided to call the store and asked for a manager to make them aware of what they sent out. Instead of listening to our concerns and comply about our concern they asked for evidence to be sent and became defensive. Our reason for calling was to make them aware, not to receive a refund nor get something in return we just simply wanted to make them aware. The manager told me that the chicken didn't look raw even when I sent him the picture. He said that he didn't know why it was raw but that raw doesn't look like that. GoGreek? No, more like go away. I really enjoy Greek cuisine because there are so many delicious vegetarian options. Today I decided to visit for a Grain bowl( barley, onion, cherry tomatoes, chopped zucchini, mint leaves and Feta. The whole container) topped with falafel. Curbside service was available by calling in my order due to COVID19. Order was prepped in 10 minutes. Service was fast and friendly which was great. Presentation of the food. Spot on. Falafel was very tasty and was worth the trip. Crispy. Fresh and warm. I did like that they were able to dish out take out efficiently. So Why the 3 stars ? My issue is with the lack of blending and portioning the grain salad bowl correctly. What I received was a big bowl of barley and mostly a whole container of Feta cheese. It honestly feels like a whole container of Athenos. Way too much for my liking. Not much chopped zucchini and HUGE overkill of barley. I get it's a grain bowl. I get it. For $14 it's definitely serving its purpose of lunch and dinner but I just wish they would have mixed my grain bowl better. It's not a Feta bowl. Not sure I would ever order this again. We were in search of a frappe after shopping nearby. Yelp led us here. Small place with no AC in the front on a 90 degree day. We asked about frappes and were told they could make use one but as of June they were going away. What does that even mean? Okay fine. We also decided to order some food since it smelled so good in there. The frappes were made well but served in a small plastic cup with ice. They left the other half of our frappes on a back counter which one of the women working there eventually knocked over. There were three people in front of us waiting on food, one of which has been waiting nearly half an hour. Our food came out after about 20 minutes, which is a while when you only order one souvlaki on pita and another in a lettuce bowl. The food was okay. Our frappes were finished by the time the food was ready. The tzatziki was our favorite part. The lettuce bowl is good but the chicken was a bit tough. I get an email with a 1/2 off price for a 2nd entree. As such we order two entrees and a small side order. The company takes the 1/2 off discount from the side order. Instead of getting a $8 discount, they gave me a $2 discount. Contacting the store, as well as the management, resulted in no return calls or emails. 2. Several month later, I ordered a dinner entree for pick up, but when I got my bill, the company added a delivery fee. No one in management ever responded to my emails. We had been on the run and had little time to arrange anything more than dinner to go. This restaurant has all the traditional food features of a Greek restaurant. However, their strict menu does not allow for any changes and the staff seems to lack true understanding of the food. I came across this gem while spending a couple of days visiting my Grandma in the hospital nearby. The first day I came in the staff was so kind to me and I had the BEST shrimp gyro I ever had. The shrimp was seasoned well and everything tasted fresh! I was nervous about the spicy sauce that came on it because I don't do well with spicy foods so I just opted for the original tzatziki sauce. When I got my food the server also brought me the spicy sauce on the side free of charge. And I'm so happy he did ! It had just the right kick to it and made the gyro even better! So good I returned the next day for a repeat order! And glad I did, because I got to meet one of the owners, Gabby, who was so nice! I came here for a healthy bite before going home. The staff were very friendly, but misleading. The girl in training offered me a free sample of yogurt and chicken and pork gyro. I took her up on the chicken gyro. It vas very tasty. When I decided and placed my order, I chose the grain salad with an addition of the chicken gyro on top and the dressing on the side. Untrue: The lady training my registeree said that they don't do processed anything there. Truth: the do have processed foods there, such as the pita. It was not homemade. The dressing too, tasted like a typical dressing that they added lemon to. And everyone knows dairy is processed as well. The yogurt, albeit it may be made in a desirable way, but it's still processed. When I got my dish, the chicken was overwhelmingly salty. I ended up throwing half of it out. The grains were bland and not seasoned with any spices or herbs. The kirbies were limp. The only fresh items in my bowl were the grape tomatoes and red onions. I think this place can be successful, but there are certainly some changes to be made. It's also unclear if one takes their garbage to the trash area or if the staff clean up after its customers. Today I had one of the best lunches I've had in a while. What struck me first was the amazing cleanliness of this establishment and the bright and airy feel to the place. Even on a chilly rainy day it was cheerful, as was the lady who took my order. She happily explained the options since I indicated it was my first visit. I went for a grilled vegetable pita. OH MY. SO good. Fresh and soft pita (I saw them coming out of the oven while I was waiting for my order) rolled around a cornucopia of beautifully prepared vegetables -- zucchini and eggplant thinly sliced lengthwise, with red and green bell pepper, onion and tomato, not to mention the fries. You had me at the fries, but everything about the sandwich was perfect. Filled generously, but not stupidly humongous like some places do. Veggies were just soft enough, with oreganata seasoning and a mouth watering tzatziki sauce bursting with tangy dill. The price was more than fair for what I got. I may be going out on a limb giving a five star on one visit, but I will definitely be returning so you'll know if anything's amiss. I just have a really good feeling, though, that no matter what you order here you will be pleased.. You can't beat freshly made to order with locally sourced, natural ingredients, with the business owners behind the counter loving what they do. Love those beverage options too! Quick Greek spots have been the rage on the island these days. Go Greek adds to the Mediterranean mix with quality food choices, and Friday night I learned how this holds true. Even though I would probably give the place around a 3.5, it is worth a return trip. So let's go get your Greek food breakdown. Bright and white and blue, it's tough to miss driving down 7th St in Garden City. A few tables in the front and several more in the back makes up the majority of the setup. Beyond that, it's all about the Greek grub. If it's all Greek to you, don't worry! The menu breaks things down pretty easily with three steps. Start by choosing your meat (chicken, pork, veggie or lamb for $5 extra), then style (souvlaki or gyro), and finally the base (pita, rice plate, or salad). We had some major confusion in ordering as someone in my group went for lamb and no staff member knew if they had any left. Luckily (after more confusion), my buddy was actually able to get the final pieces of lamb served that evening. There's also several salads, spreads and sides for your pleasure. For me? I went with a chicken (gyro) over rice and also split the spicy feta hummus and Go fries with my chums. Ouzon soda (had a licorice kick) to wash it down. My chicken tasted of superb quality. The rice? Not so much (a little dry). The pita looked better so that might be the option next time. As for the hummus, it was creamy with a wonderful spicy end note and came with nicely grilled pita triangles. The fries were also tasty as they were seasoned with feta and oregano making for a flavorful combination of ingredients. Bonus: due to the lamb fiasco, we were given some free pork (souvlaki style) to try. A nice move by the staff member (possible owner?). The pork had a tender and pull apart quality with good juiciness and seasoned perfectly. Overall, Go Greek might fall between the cracks due to other Greek food locations, but it's worth at least a trip to try out what their offering. Go Greek holds a lot promise. Yes it has the ubiquitous blue decor found in almost all greek places, but it has a consistent design and branding throughout. They use eco-conscious packaging and cups. They also have unique drinks not typically found elsewhere such as the brands Boylan, Ouzon, Mastiqua, Epsa, etc..Nounos yogurt, which is a local small batch creamery, is used here. Also nice they have outdoor seating on 7th Street. The service was very friendly and I believe we placed our order with the owner - he even checked up on us if we needed anything else after we received our food. For our first time here we went with the chicken Souvlaki, Spanokopita and the beet salad. I liked that they put french fries inside the sandwich, as they do in Greece. The chicken was very tender, but a little on the bland side. I was also asking myself where was the tzatkiki? It was a thin, barely there layer that was spread on the pita. I also thought the Spanokopita was a little skimpy with the spinach filling and the phyllo on the dry side, but it had a bright, fresh flavor. The beet salad was a good option, very traditional Greek! The pita option is a bit overpriced - a better bet probably is getting your meat/veggies over rice or a salad, where those prices are more inline with other places in the area - I will probably go that route next time. Other reviews mentioned they don't have delivery, which is false. They offer it along with 10% off your first delivery order, so look into that if you are nearby. As for me, I will be back to check out the other options and allow them some time to work out any kinks of a new business. I've eaten my fair share of Greek cuisine growing up in Queens and this place is decent. The pitas and gyros are delicious and fresh and I've never been disappointed with them. The spicy feta is outrageous and by far my favorite thing on the menu. I've had some of the starters and salads and in general those are mehhh at best so now I tend to stay away from those. My biggest gripe with this place has to be pricing. $11-12 for a gyro or souvlaki pita?!?!?!
