I proudly write this review this hometown restaurant. I have been a customer since they opened and the food is always delicious. Recently I was hosting a dinner party (safely during the pandemic) and I spoke with the owner Spiro to put together the menu. He put together a terrific dinner to cover everyone's food requests (vegetarian, gluten/dairy free etc..). All the food was packaged and labeled perfectly. Spiro was so kind and gave us a plentiful amount + free desserts, pita, hummus and all the sides. I highly recommend Simply Greekalicious for your next catering event or just for takeout dinner. Flies, did i say Flies!! Gross the meat had flies on it and they dont care to shut a window or keep the critters out. The service was slow and the food did i say dirty? awful lamb ; awful gyros ! nothing else to yell about. Let's see; I went in and waited for these girl to actually notice they had a customer in the store. After 15 mins of the nonsense I was finally gave my order and I was just in shock. Tattooed lady was nasty rude to me because I didn't hear her clearly I'm sorry one ear of mine is not on point so I can't hear very well and she took it as a joke and screamed in my face "YOUR ORDER IS UP" fine I left. This is just OK Greek food. The lamb/beef Gyro was decent, however the chicken for souvlaki and on grilled chicken Greek salad was sooooo dry. I don't remember this in the past so I'm hoping it's a fluke. The lemon soup was good as well. I'll try again with higher hopes read more

The chicken gyro is delicious, and lamb gyro is great too. But the lemon potatoes were awful, they were not even cooked through. The fries were cold and soggy and I suspect old. The side salad was ok but the lettuce had brown edges so it must have also been old/cut a few days ago so not the freshest. Not sure I'll order again. The was a Door Dash delivery which arrived quicker than expected. However, the food was sub par. The pita chips and tziki sauce were ok, but the spanikopita was horrible. This review is based on Uber Eats delivery. In general - not bad. Absolutely loved the dolma- very flavorful, Greek salad was also nice and fresh. Delicious chicken tenders and perfectly executed curly fries. Rice pilaf was also excellent. Now the disappointment - pork and chicken combo platter meat was terrible, it was charred and burnt beyond limits, very very dry and very few pieces. Same applies to the meatballs- not the best taste once they are burnt inside and out. Mozzarella sticks although looked great, were empty and kind of shallow on the inside. read more

Great for a quick bite after work or on your way to the beach. Greeted by the friendly staff upon entering, nice amount of parking. The food is consistently good, the lemon potatoes are really good and not overly acidic, the portion size of thr spinach pie was very large and prepared well, it was crispy and not greasy. The falafel were crusty and moist inside and flavorful. I come here every so often and the experience is always positive. If you are in the area it's worth trying. read more

The cashier actually got my order right if the people in the back learn to understand and Order when it comes in, they would not mess up your dinner order. Just finished our food, two gyros with fries and lamb souvlaki platter(rip off of $18 for small container) with lemon potatoes, all the meat was completely dried out and the lemon potatoes were lacking flavor. This place is awful.. 23 dollars for a small portion of meat, a salad smaller than anywhere I've ever seen (outside of maybe a fancy Japanese spot), and tzaziki sauce that tastes like ranch. Super tasty food at this Wantagh Greek spot. Horiatiki salad was super fresh & crisp as were the falafel I got as an appetizer. Tzatziki was very nicely done as well. The only complaint I have is that the chicken souvlaki I added on to the salad was an unbelievably small portion. It was packed up on the side so it's not like it got lost in the salad, I saw exactly how much they gave and while it was very tasty I doubt it was even 2 ounces - definitely not worth the $6 upcharge. I absolutely love this Greek restaurant because the food is incredible-so fresh and full of flavor!! The homemade Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts is some of the best I've ever had anywhere and the tzatziki is the real deal. My uncle and I shared a quart of lentil soup and had a gyro each last night and we were both incredibly impressed. The lentil soup was perfect for me because it wasn't overly salted but yet it was seasoned perfectly and was a lovely and light tomato based soup with savory and soft lentils. I ordered from here from a delivery app, I probably won't again. We got greek salad with chicken souvlaki and a chicken souvlaki platter combo with fries. The food was packaged nicely. The pita bread, salad and lemon soup were good. The chicken for both combos was dry and over-charred, we had to douse it in sauce. The fries didn't have any salt on them but had a pile of oregano. I was most disappointed with the rice pudding, it had a weird texture and wasn't sweet at all. We actually decided it wasn't worth the calories and stopped eating after two spoonfuls. read more

I also ordered lemon soup which I always get at Greek places and it just tasted like chicken soup, no lemony flavor. So ..... our kitchen is being renovated for the last month but we are fortunate to have generous friends and family invite us over to dinner most nights. Tonight our plan was to grab a quick bite as we ran errands (in the hope that our kitchen would some day be done) ....enter Greekalicious. Food is really good --- gyro is fresh and moist, grilled veggie had variety and not sloppy with oil, onion rings (hey can't live on salad alone) -- were delicious. Now the downside ... they were completely overwhelmed. our wait was so long that customers - albeit an obnoxious one - began to complain loudly.
