Jose the owner was great when we visited the shop, and he showed us the progress on our handmade fences for our front yard wrought iron replacement (absolutely beautiful). Oracio & Tony showed up on time on installation day and got right to work. They had the fence installed in no time and when they were done, we walked it, and they touched up as needed. I stand corrected. The only reason Go Iron failed to call me back is due to a mix up in scheduling with another person having my same name. They acknowledged their mistake and went out of their way to make things right. I was given a fabulous deal coupled with their superior workmanship you just can't beat that. Also their prices are lower than most iron works companies however, their quality and attention to detail is second to none. The owner, Jose, came out in Oct 2023 and did the work in Nov 2023. I was totally pleased with the work. I reported a problem with one of the gates closing in Jan 2024 and they came and fixed it immediately. I live in RPV where construction and/or home repair companies often overcharge. However, I found Jose to be professional and honest and his prices are fair. read more

Go Iron Works review I'm sad to say, I can never go back there again! I did three different projects with them, with problems every time! First Project: Add security screening to three of my Dad's iron gates. I went to my Dad's, for the removal of his original gates to be taken in, to have security screen added. And to have everything entirely repainted. Go Iron Works no showed on the first day, for the pick-up! The job eventually got done, and everything looked fine. But now, the paint is rusting through, only a few months later! Second project: Building a brand new iron gate for my Mom's house. $1,500+ The day of installation, the paint looked very thin. The closer I looked, the paint scratched off with my fingernail. After being completely installed Go Iron Works had to come back and remove everything, to be completely stripped down, then primered and repainted. That left us with no gate at all for a week and a half roughly, with having a dog and no way to block her in! The original gate had already been removed, and taken away! Third project: Two iron decorative shutters for outside, next to windows. $700 Supposed to be 2 to 3 weeks, ended up being roughly 6 weeks. The interior parts shipped from their vendor, we're broken upon arrival. The vendor wanted those broken pieces back, prior to shipping new ones. Delaying the project! I was told they were finally ready, so I drove roughly 40 miles round-trip to pick them up. Once again, the paint was light, and actually missing in some spots entirely. I asked if they think this is acceptable, and they said no! I went back two days later, and asked for a small discount on the remaining $500 that was owed, due to all three projects having a hassle of some sort! That minor discount was rejected completely! I was thinking at least $20, possibly $50, for all of the negligence. They wasted my time, money, and energy on all three projects! No shows, me having to return three times, to far away projects,and their location(s). Not to mention the inconvenience, to my Dad, and my Mom's house. In good conscience I would have to say, steer clear of this business, as I will in the future! There is one Bright Light at the end of the tunnel.... Flor who works the front desk, was always helpful, respectful, and kind! She would listen to my concerns, then relay them to the owners, or whoever is in charge. I don't hold her accountable at all, the ownership and upper management of this facility should be on their game, and responsible. And that's just not the case! read more

When it came to hunting for some custom ironwork, it was a shot in the dark. Well, we go lucky and hit the target. José is a metal artist. My wife and I had some ideas and we expected a lengthy process of waiting to "hear back" about design concepts for the corner porch support we wanted replaced. But when José came to spec out the job and saw the three designs that we were leaning toward, he sketched out an idea on-the-spot. We immediately went for it. The cost was reasonable and the work was done in the time frame promised. Having worked as a welder in my youth, I am appreciative of mental craftsmanship. The finished product was extremely fine. Not only did his techs haul away the old metal post and install the new one, but they were tidy and professional, real nice workmen. Later on, we decided that a handrail on our new steps would be a good idea. So, we asked José to come back. Again, he drew us his idea, which we went for (the three photos speak for themselves). My first contact was with Flor, who handles the scheduling and billing. She, too, was a real pleasure to deal with. As you can see from the many photos, GO Iron Works can do pretty much anything. Our experience was superb and I feel safe saying that you won't be disappointed should you hire them for your project. On a scale of 1 to 10, we give them an 11. Great work. Great value. UPDATE: I love my fence, however it has started to rust in certain areas. I reported this issue to the company and Jose came out to verify the rust, that was over 2 months ago and the fence has not been repaired. I have a 1 year warranty, I'm very disappointed in the service and I did not think my fence would start to rust within 6 months..... I sent the company another request to repair the fence hopefully this will be resolved soon.... read more

My electric gate has been acting up, it won't stay closed and sometimes it will open for no reason. It's been 3 years since I had it installed by Go Iron Works. I called the office to have someone come and check up the connections. It took less than 30 minutes for the guy to clean the contacts and remove debris from inside the control box. All for $195 with no parts installed. He said he was coming back to grease the chain without charging me extra and he never came back. read more

I understand companies are often busy. But I reached out multiple times. Sometimes with no answer. I have never been contacted by them. I purchased the most expensive glass for my security door which they have installed on the door at the shop. We were not told that at night you can see inside the house when the light is on. So my only option was to tint the inside class since the one way mirror is on the outside. Jose the owner would not cover the cost to tint. BEWARE. I paid $600 to have Iron Works repair a gate hinge. Within 3 months the gate was sagging, within 8 months it was back to being unusable---mind you, a gate that has lasted years, a hinge that lasted years, while Iron Works' shoddy repair job lasted less than 8 months. The OWNER REFUSES TO CALL ME BACK TO DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE, leaving it to his office to tell me there is no 'warranty.' THEY DON'T GUARANTEE THEIR CRAPPY WORK? However, the declaration of no warranty was given on my 3rd attempt to get them to fix the repair. The first couple times they told me it was a 3 month warranty. I guess they make things up on the fly, a quality one should be aware of before doing business with the. There is a LACK OF INTEGRITY with this business. Great Quality work for a Fair Price! Jose is a great guy and does great work. I called them for a small job in Long Beach and they treated the same as if I was asking them to build me a bridge or a ship. Dave in the office was very helpful and repeatedly called me to answer my questions, give me a reasonable quote, then followed up to confirm their appointment with me and afterwards called me again to ensure I was happy with their work. They arrived on time and took their time to do a superior job for me. Jose is a very creative and talented welder who offered me some great ideas as to how I could improve the outcome of my little project. His work was spot on! I would recommend them to anyone looking for an experienced, knowledgeable welder who takes pride in his work. BTW - I was so impressed with the way they conduct their business that this is an unsolicited review I'm voluntarily submitting to Yelp on my own without anyone asking me for it. I wasn't going to put a review because I am so pissed off but I can't hold it back no more. In April 2021 I went in and ordered a special made gate not any of the ones they had on the website. I printed and gave them the pic of what I wanted and asked if this could be done. I was told yes and had a few tweaks to the gate which was noted, 2 weeks late I get a call to go look at it and NO it looked nothing like the photo( strike 1), so they made another gate and I was not happy with it cause it did not look like the photo ( strike 2), so they went back and designed another gate it still was not to my liking because it did not look like the photo I provided (strike 3), I asked st that point if I could get a refund or discount since they are not the style I wanted and its already been 3 tries, they said they will redo the gate. Well they came to install the gate and it did not fit (strike 4), they came out to measure the gate before making it so how could they get it wrong (right). Once again we asked for a refund or discount and the owner said NO because the gate had to be made 3 times, well my dear that is not my fault because I didn't measure or make it. You need to work with the customer and if you screwed up dont make the customer pay for it. The gate is up but not for long I will be going somewhere else to get the gate I wanted and I will NEVER EVER go do business NOR refer anyone to this company. He has the employees do the work and pay out of pocket. All to be greedy with the money and not pay his workers what he should have paid them for the materials, labor, or time. We were looking for a quality iron porch railing and gate to complete our exterior remodel. We were referred to Jose with GO Iron Works by a friend. We called and he came to our home to give us an estimate, show us samples and shared his expertise. While waiting for installation, Jose constantly kept in contact to give us status and clarify what we asked for because we had a couple changes. He came back to our house to measure for accuracy. He is very honest and the staff has excellent customer service. I am extremely satisfied with our porch rail and gate. It's beautiful and high quality. This review is for the quoting process, not actual work performed. Initial call was met with a prompt response. An on-site appointment was scheduled. The owner arrived on-time where the scope of work was discussed. The total job is probably valued at $5,000 to $8,000 - maybe more. 3 weeks later, we never received a quote. Not sure if this is a 1st-World problem in a great economy, but anyone planning any type of remodeling can understand how important scheduling and budget planning can be to a successful project. CS Rep - Let me call someone to see if they can come out please hold. Ok, someone can be there at 10:30am. Me - Wow, I could have one in for a few hours but I guess so since I'm already here. (6:22pm / no one EVER SHOWED UP). Yes, I called back at least 7 times after 10:30am, yes I left 7 messages and no one 'answered' nor has returned my calls. So again, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, because this company does not respect it. I found another company and I have an appt. this weekend.
