We had a couple of cracks in the mortar of our home built in 1939. I didn't really know what I needed and did some outreach to different masons in the area. I want to thank Gerber and his team for doing a great job on the exterior of my home ... which included hardscaping, lighting, and landscaping. They delivered excellent craftsmanship and top notch design experience at a fair price. I initially hired Gerber to tune-up all my existing pavers, add a new paver driveway, and add some new path lighting. Adding the new driveway was somewhat of a challenge as the adjacent paver sidewalks were initially constructed over 10 years ago. So, Gerber was able to find a great match to my existing pavers and masterfully piece the new driveway together in such a fashion where old and new appear seamless. Amazing!!! GO Masonry's work could have caused us a serious house fire. We were fortunate to have caught it and had it repaired by a trusted contractor before that point. You can see how the boards the placed behind the stone façade of our chimney obviously caught fire at some point, surrounding the electrical box by the way, and created the smoke we were seeing coming from the electrical outlets to let us know something was clearly wrong. Forget about the unprofessionalism, plethora of excuses for poor work and zero accountability. This company endangered the safety of our family - no excuse for that. read more

For many years I have thought about redoing our walkway at the front of the house which the original builder had provided in 2002. It had the plain 24x24 large stepping stones and weed was growing in between. It was no longer leveled. It was dirty and narrow for anyone visiting to walk on from the driveway to the front door. The front stoop was also breaking apart. After evaluating few options, I had a meeting with Gerber who owns GO MASONRY. I shared with him my vison and goal for the driveway. Gerber was professional and very creative. He worked with Katherine to present me with an elegant design incorporating my needs and recommending other features that would simply beautify my front entrance. Gerber presented me with beautiful design redoing our entire walkway with the Nicolock Blue Ridge paver in Chesapeake Blend color (https://nicolock.com/products/blue-ridge/) with integrated paver Fusion lighting throughout that just dazzles at night. In addition, Gerber and Katherine incorporated two retaining walls on the sides of our front landing. Each retaining wall had a column with a color-matching cap. It came out better that we could have imagined. Gerber please don't be dishonest to your future customers the damage of the sinking pavers were done within a year at the your company putting the pavers down and it had nothing to do with me getting my pavers power washed because the power wash came after they came out and fix the sink in pavers. As far as you not feeling comfortable with coming to Maryland from Virginia because of gas fuels you should have stated that when you and I was speaking and you told me that you would be out the following week to give me a quote and have the work done in the mid-May. An excuse is only good for the person that needs it and right now you need an excuse about why you did not honor your word. You felt comfortable enough to come out to Maryland from Virginia and get the $20,000 that I paid you to put down these pavers. Please don't lie whatever you do don't lie you should have communicated that to me when we talked and reinterlocking the pavers. If the cost of fuel is how you do business then maybe you shouldn't be in business. Again buyers beware of this company do not do business. unless you want excuses and messed-up pavers. Owner canceled twice and sent another employee who didn't appear to have a background in masonry to do measurements and make recommendations for redoing our asphalt driveway with pavers and/or cement. She was late to the appointment, did not appear to be knowledgeable, and came across as less than professional. It has been a month+ and I never received an estimate, which was promised at the initial consultation. I really wanted to engage this company as they did great work for our neighbors down the street. What was supposed to be a 2-4 day job turned into me having a hole in my backyard for close to a month after GO tore up my existing concrete patio but had not yet procured the pavers for the new one. There are legitimate supply shortages, and I did tell them to go ahead with the demo after being told the pavers would be available within a few days so I can't hold totally against them, however I do feel I was mislead. The real reason for the bad review, and the reason why I will not be using GO Masonry to redo my driveway and front walk this Fall is because there were multiple times through the process where emails, calls and texts would go unanswered for days at a time. Also once the patio was laid it took days to get a response from GO about when they would come lay dirt around the edges to complete the project. After days of not responding to calls or moving the completion date back multiple times they finally showed up and just threw down 3 bags of potting soil around the edges of the patio, all of which was washed away by rain a few hours after they left. After I complained GO did say they would come back to fix this, however at this point I was sick of them not responding to my calls or not showing up when they said they would. My five year old child badly cut his foot on the patio edging so I just hired another company to finish the job, which they did the next morning in under 2 hours. read more

As a military veteran, I connected with the company. Even more, I was promised honesty given that so many contractors try to take advantage of the fact that I am in a wheelchair. Mid 2021, I hired Go Masonry to finish building a retaining wall, construct a fire pit, and pour a concrete patio. Sadly, there are 12 spots on the concrete that puddles water. The drainage system was done incorrectly. The fire pit is holding water and missing 2 lights. The drainage behind the wall failed - never worked. The patio is also missing 4 lights. Rather seek litigation for the poor and unfinished work, Gerber, the owner, admitted to the errors and promised to fix the issues if I agreed to pay the remaining balance. I agreed. Well, months turned into over a year. Multiple promises and multiple times he never showed up to complete the job. The owner had an excuse for every issue. I am undecided if I will again seek legal action to get my money back since it will cost three times more to fix the issues. As you can see from the photos that I posted, Go Masonry did an amazing job covering our existing concrete walkway in a brick and flagstone pattern. Their crew worked for 2 1/2 days with precision!
