Well, my kiddo hasn't started the treatment yet, but the reasons we (both my kiddo and I) decided to pursue treatment here are as follows: 1. The treatment coordinator: Cindy, was very knowledgeable, responsive, and organized compared to the other treatment coordinators we met. I liked how she took the time to respond to all of my questions, had all the information I needed printed out, and put them in a folder for me to reference later. 2. Dr. Ohanian: He was very clear and transparent about what it entails to go through the orthodontic treatment. Got here to shop for invisalign. I'd say the customer service is good and receptions are nice. However, they were a bit harsh on me when taking the photos and xray. The lady pull my mouth opened until my lip tore apart and bleed. It really hurt. She didn't give me enough break and insisted that I had to do it anyway. I felt like crying really. I was not really impressed with the service although I know she didn't mean to make me feel bad. They are quite generous though. I originally had a braces consultation with another orthodontist in South Pasadena, whose office is a bit closer to my home and I was ready to go in and sign agreement. However, her office cancelled my appointment two hours before my appointment time and the staff who was supposed to call me back and explain the situation never called. I was not happy about it and decided to find another orthodontist. I'm so glad Yelpers have guided me to Dr. Ohanian in Pasadena. Booking an appointment was extremely easy. The receptionist was super friendly and after taking down some basic information I was scheduled a consultation. I love the fact this office always texts me confirmation and reminder for my appointments. Their office is so clean. During my first visit, it was beautifully decorated for Christmas with a lighted Christmas tree and other cute decorations. By the entrance, there is a table with bottled water and hot coffee for patients. The office has a cozy environment and make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I also felt Dr. Ohanian was very considerate as he tried to spend more time with patients for initial consultation by taking pictures of patients' teeth himself. In the other orthodontist's office I went, it was all done by staffs in order to save more time for the orthodontist. Dr. Ohanian was very detail-oriented, knowledgeable and thorough when he reviewed the X-rays and photos and went over all of my treatment options. Most importantly, I'm so glad that Dr. Ohanian had introduced me to inbrace treatment (braces are not shown on the outside of the teeth and people can't really tell you are wearing braces at all), which is exactly what I wanted and it is not offered by many orthodontists and I didn't know about it until I came here. I was concerned about covid safety, which the receptionists were very understanding and clear about over the phone, and then put on an N95 for me instead of a medical mask at my request. Dr. Ohanian seemed knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Neither he nor Cindy pushed me to pursue treatment with them, and Cindy even made several recommendations to help me pay *less*. This is a very clean office. The staff has been very friendly from the beginning from the process of taking my daughter to have an exam to see if she needed braces. we already knew she needed braces due to her regular dentist letting us know to go take her to see an orthodontic doctor. I consulted a few other places but at this place I feel like they were pretty transparent about the pricing the process and kind of the goals that were expected from having the braces. They weren't pushy at all about signing up that same day I took I think at least a month going back-and-forth with different places before I decided on this one. We've been coming here for regular braces maintenance for a few months now and the service has still stay the same and every time we walk in the staff knows our names and greet us. They take their time explaining any of the processes they even have late hours after 6 o'clock that they are open on certain days. I would definitely recommend going with them they might be a little pricier than other places but I think you get what you pay for him. Go orthodontist was my third clear braces consultation, and out of three they were the most expensive- $1800 Dollars more, so I decided to go with the middle priced estimate out of the three with an ALL 5 star review yelp page and they also use self ligating clear braces which are usually more expensive. Please stay away from this orthodontist. It seems weird that there are so many five star reviews for Dr. Ohanian, but you know the saying, if sounds too good to be true, it might just be. He might have had some other patients like me that had bad results and had them sign a form in order to get a refund for their money paid to Dr. Ohanian, which made them unable to post anything on social media without Dr. Ohanian's consent. Dr. Ohanian offered to refund all my money because of how bad the results of the treatment, but would not pay for the damages that have or will occur due to the treatment he provided. This is how people like Dr. Ohanian try to convince the public that he is a good orthodontist by hiding things from the public. He is worried more about his reputation, which he raised as a concern, instead of what he did to me as his patient. Later on, he even admitted that he really did not know what he was doing when he treated me. He might tell you that "that is the anatomy of your teeth and let's call it a day". This just means that he does not know what he is doing just in case you hear this from him, but that does not mean that your teeth are meant to be in that condition. It is something I found out later on that is very common Dr. Ohanian tells his patients. I ended up with root resorption and needed a root canal, but glad I didn't lose my tooth. I do have TMJ now. Also, my bite is really off. It is weird how my teeth could be worse after seeing him, but anything is possible, I guess. Of course, the risk you take after reading this review is up to you. I would really think about it and ask around about an orthodontist that you can trust to spend your time and money with, but of course, it is your teeth. Hopefully, this review will help you to make a more informed decision. Please go to someone you can trust because your teeth are something that you need someone you will do the best for you teeth, or you might pay for it like I did. The staff is so welcoming and friendly.
