Went for lunch after a round of golf. We knew the new place had just recently opened. Our server was very attentive, which was a vast time I ate here when it was Grand Slam. The place was fairly packed for a Monday around 1:00pm. We were seated at a high top in the bar. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the egg roll combo appetizer. Others had the taco salad & North Shore beef sandwiches. The friend who ordered the burger medium actually received one extremely well done. One comment:the serrated butter knives would not cut through the bottoms of the grilled burger buns. Perhaps serving with steak knives would be a better option. Honestly, was pleasantly surprised. This was probably one of my fave sports bars I've been too in a long time. Love the New England decor and having the GOATs on the wall. The server was kind and courteous and knowledgeable about the menu. Crowd favorite was the nachos and the wings! Everyone liked the goat sauce, and the nachos we couldn't stop eating. Tried this place for the first time after driving by it on 123 several times; it was good! The parking lot is big but shared with a medical center; so it's very busy. The lanes are also super narrow so it's hard for two cars to fit side by side so there was a lot of waiting around for people to move. The restaurant is very well-decorated with Boston sports memorabilia- it's everywhere! There's posters that pay homage to movies set in Boston and even a bar seating area that looks the green monster. The bathroom mirror said something like "you look wicked good" so no stone was left unturned! For food we ordered the special flatbread, which was fig jam, apple, and Brie. This was my favorite part of the meal! The pizza was sweet with that amazing creaminess of the Brie. Fantastic. I also ordered the gnocchi special dish, but they did give the gnocchi appetizer by accident, which did look really good. The waitress was very apologetic and gave me a free clam chowder. It was okay for clam chowder, could've used a little more umph. My actually gnocchi was pretty good, the sauce was good and the chicken was good, but I wish the gnocchi was less soft. It also came with a breadstick. My brother liked his chicken tenders and he had the maple bourbon rub and the garlic Parmesan. I did see people getting popcorn a la 99 Restaurants, not sure if you had to ask for that but I liked that touch. The waitress was very friendly and service was quick! The patron is greeted by signs on all doors warning entrance-goers that they cannot wear their motorcycle gear or gang colors inside (awkward silence). Sigh, welcome to West Bridgewater, chthonic purgatory. Food: I started with a small, side salad, a Caesar which was surprisingly ice cold, fresh and good. For a main I had the J&J Salmon with two sides: green beans and Brussel sprouts. Again, surprisingly cooked exceptionally well. My bride and sister/brother-in-law had coffee which was brewed for them, so very fresh. I'd give them a 5-star rating if not for two things. First, they've no Perrier, Saratoga Springs, or Pellegrino bottled water. In fact, not even a bottle of Poland Springs, Polar, etc. nothing. I don't drink the West Bridgewater tap water - you'd be insane too ... it either smells fishy or tastes like chlorinated pool water. No joke. Secondly, the place was God-awful loud. I mean cerebral spinal fluid leaking from my ears: sport games, music, and screaming kids. Goat City Pub is one of my favorite spots! I don't get here often enough because I don't live anywhere near this sports pub....but I love it. It also says something when all 3 of my teenage children always say they want to come when I want to go! The menu is varied....big, with lots of variety....so that's means something for everyone! It's a great place to watch the game or listen to live music. It's a got a big patio where I'm currently enjoying live music! I love the boneless wings....they are awesome! My favorite is mango haberno! The cornbread skillet is yummy too! With a delish cinnamon butter! Our party of 8 all had different things and everything was great! My one star rating has nothing to do with the food or the service from bar staff. My fiance and I visited the Norton store on Mother's Day, around 5:00 p.m. We were able to grab two seats at the bar even though the bar was busy, not the restaurant per se. We were greeted and taken care of very promptly unfortunately our meal took close to an hour to get to us after finally being checked on at the request of our bartender to a manager. AMAZINGLY the manager was able to walk our dinner directly out to us! (My sandwich and fries being cold compared to honeys grilled option) My complaint is about the female MOD who had plenty of time to stand around at the bar and chit chat instead of running food and or doing anything else to help her staff during a busy Mother's Day! This is not the first time we have been here and witnessed lax management but will probably keep us from returning. read more

We moved into the area six years ago and found Home Plate, I quickly became a huge fan of the boneless chicken tenders/habanero mango. They were the best that I ever had, for six years I have ordered them on a VERY regular basis, last week I ordered them and they seemed to be very different, I chalked it up to a tough night in the kitchen. I ordered them again this week and they were disappointing again. Big, thick, and "stringy" not tender at all. I'm not sure if you changed your supplier or chef or both, but something is dreadfully different. Being fooled twice now I'm not sure if I'm going to return. We arrived at 630 and there was a 30 minute wait. The place was jamming. It was super loud and seems like a great place to watch a game. The hostess was polite and friendly Once seated we didn't have to wait too long to get drinks order Nachos. The food took a bit longer, about 30 mins. Nice place to watch a game. Staff are very friendly and place is clean. The couple of meals we have ordered were good. It does get very crowded during the week around dinner time and wait can be a while. Usually not many seats at the bar available if you do not get there early but the bar is large. I'm writing this review even though I thought I already did one before. I was excited to try this new restaurant that we had gotten a gift certificate for our anniversary in October. Everyone had said how wonderful it was. I went in and we were seeded probably seven minutes before anyone ever noticed. We was sitting there waiting to be waited on. they then gave us menus brought us over beverages, kept apologizing because they did not realize we were there supposedly. We did order the food. I ordered a burger with cheese and sweet potato fries. Are you as a burger to be medium? Came out closer to well done. It was still juicy but I like to have some pink in my burger. But unfortunately, the girl didn't come back for a very long time, so I wasn't able to tell her that it was cooked much. Also, my french fries were cold. My other half has a chicken Alfredo pizza, he said. It was good to me. It seem like it was cooked too much because I wasn't able to eat it because it was crunchy. I probably will try it again in the future but not for a while I don't really know how long it's been open, but I think it still needs to work some of the kinks out. I was in The GOAT City Pub this past weekend. I had a wonderful lunch of Baked Cod. The portion was rather large, which was fantastic. One doesn't get huge portions any more, and if one is lucky to do so, the food usually isn't very good. My lunch was superb. The lady who waited on me was very prompt, courteous, and overall quite professional. I had a few to many Wormtown Beers, but they don't serve that beer in Texas. I probably should not have had that extra beer, but I am no worse for it. The place itself is laden with Massachusetts history, primarily sports, yet I saw tributes to JFK, and a few other prominent personalities not associated with the Boston sports world. It was very clean, the staff was friendly, and attentive to detail. I would, and will definitely go back the next time I am in the area. read more

I believe this is the first yelp review I am writing which is about a location which has been four different restaurants through the years (B.B. Binks, Trinity Pub, Home Plate, and the current Goat City Pub). Ate here for the first time last Friday. The hostess seated me in the 'quiet" corner as requested. The server was very friendly and offered me many food suggestions as requested. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which was presented well on the plate and served hot and prepared as requested. Still to me the meal was Applebee's quality meaning nothing special to go out of the way for but nothing bad either. The only drawback was food was on the floor near my table and in a few other spots from previous customer which gave the dining room a messy look. Perhaps mangers need to tell the servers to sweep the area when needed. The place is also very noisy which I did not care for. This is mainly a local hangout but not a destination place for me.
