Outstanding New England food and hospitality. The steak tips were the best I've ever had -- perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and tender. The crinkle-cut fries were fried to crispy perfection. The quahog and chowder get a true New England stamp of approval (I grew up here and now live in the Philly area, so I know what I'm talking about). The fish and chips portions were enormous, golden, crispy, and delicious. Even though the inside was packed, the staff cranked up the heaters and gave us the patio all to ourselves, which was a great touch and showed how much they care about their guests. The place has a classic New England feel, bringing back memories of growing up camping at Normandy Farms down the road. The food was very good. I had the Irish burger w/ crinkle fries. It was a large burger topped with Irish bacon and cheddar cheese cooked to my liking. The service was good. I've driven by Red Rooster Bar and Grill so many times and finally stopped in and it did not disappoint. My partner and I each had a cocktail and ordered the steak tips with mashed potatoes and zucchini, everything was absolutely delicious and there was nothing left on our plates. To be honest I was a little nervous about coming to this bar being a person of color. Me and my husband were out of town and just riding through the area. So happen we decided to stop here due to the ratings. The service was great, the two ladies who were working work generous. The food was good. I ordered a cheeseburger and my husband ordered wings with sweet potato fries. Everything was tasty. With it being a Monday it was several people there. I would assume mainly locals. Just wrapped up another visit to the best hidden gem in the area and felt prompted to write a review because we love this spot so much! Filled up on appys (Roo balls, mozz sticks, and quahogs) and had to pack up my TBLT but can't wait to have it later tonight for dinner! My friend had the lobster roll which was overflowing with lobster meat and at a cost surprisingly lower than market cost. We had leftovers of everything! Food was amazing as always, cocktails were cold and strong, and service was excellent with Bryana being one of the most attentive and personable servers we've ever had. We sat outside and enjoyed the overhead fan of one of the covered tables. It was a perfect afternoon lunch. We love the Roo and can't wait for the next visit! read more

We stopped into the little (look at the pictures) bar for dinner on a rainy Friday night. Live music (guy with a guitar and he was good!) and lively crowd. We were a party of 8 and sat outside (they had a side to keep the rain out). It was really noisy inside. Atmosphere we gave a solid 5. Our food was a 4 overall. The great - Shepard's pie and house made chips! The really good - chowder, tater tots, and the fish and chips. The disappointing - the lobster roll. It lacked any flavor. I must say they were fantastic, glad I listened to everyone's advice. My friend had Shepherds Pie and he raved about it! Popped in while I was staying nearby on a roadtrip due to the mostly positive reviews. It was a Friday evening and I sat at the bar and ordered a bacon cheeseburger with tots. The burger/bun really lacked flavor. It tasted like a cheaper store brand roll and frozen patty. At minimum the meat needed some salt and pepper in my opinion. I want to give this place a 5 but I can't. Service and atmosphere are excellent. Lively and friendly Irish pub and bartenders working hard to serve quickly with a very friendly touch. The turkey tips and Irish chips we shared were a pleasant surprise, flavorful and plentiful! Ok, now the not so great part. The cocktails were very light on the liquor. Not sure if the bartenders were trained? For $10.50 each it was quite disappointing. Could not taste a lick of alcohol. If you choose to stick with beer, I highly recommend 5/5. The Red Rooster. I've driven by this unassuming place countless times. Today, I finally made it a point to stop in and I'm happy that I did. From the outside, the place looks quite small. Going inside, I was blown away by the size and the old school decor. Looks as if it hasn't been renovated in a while, but I like the funky charm and the vibe of the place. Pictures all over to capture my wandering eye. There is an area, an open patio maybe that when open allows for a lot of people. There is even a massive wooden sculpture of a tree reaching towards the sky! Very impressive. The food and drink choices are plenty. I had a Rooster burger, which was cooked exactly how I asked for paired with a Maine Lunch IPA. The burger was as awesome a sight as the tree on the patio. It was everything that I could ask for. I needed instructions on how to attack it. I stared at it then climbed on in. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Our food was delivered promptly. Great food, nice place, IPA was cold and wet. I always enjoy coming in and ordering off the specials menu. Today it was a Big Mac flatbread and it didn't disappoint! The dough was fresh and the flatbread was excellent.
