Ordered large all meat combo specialty pie from uber eats. It was really good. I agree with another review that it's better than dominos or pizza hut. This has meats layered under the cheese and on top. I wish the stuffed crust cheese was hot and gooey to pull apart but it was still good. They sprinkled a tasty seasoning on the crust. Reason for this one star is because I am honestly super bummed. Ordered a pizza pie and literally got a regular pizza. Tried going back to see if they made a mistake with my order (because I genuinely thought they gave me a wrong order) but no... This is gonna be interesting. Strap on your seat belts. Does Godfather's Pizza the restaurant deserve 4 stars? No. As you can probably tell from the reviews. Does the food deserve 4 stars? Yes. Maybe even 5 actually. But the rest of the experience contaminated my little rating a bit too much. We live nearby Godfathers pizza, so we see it all the time but never try it because the ratings are pretty low. I'm not sure what happened the other day... but we were hungry and desperately needed pizza and for once weren't willing to settle for Little Caesars. We walk in, it's so so so hot. No air flow, no A/C. Just so much heat. On an already hot day, this is just not what you wanna feel walking in to get your food. The menu is confusing... the prices aren't clear at all. You have large pictures with no prices, and a rotating menu that moves too quickly so you don't really know what anything costs until you make an order. Which we finally were able to do, once we got service, after being interrupted and left at the counter by the cashier multiple times. (Really terrible service honestly, very bad) For one "large" pizza and "large" calzone (read, large = medium kind of depending how hungry you are) it came to $57.00. (Or was it $51.00... either way you get the point) That's just too much, and if I'm giving you that much money to feed 2 people please be nice. Anyways, after waiting for it to be ready and take it home, we finally got the boxes and the size of these things are not large at all so we're getting all fired up on the drive home about the 2 star review we are gonna give this place because they are kind of the worst already. But then we get home. And we smell the pizza, and we smell the calzone, like... dang this smells great. And then we taste the pizza, and we taste the calzone, like... dang this is great. This is so good. Actually. Very very good. This calzone is the best I've ever had in my life (insert crying face emoji here). Godfathers had a restaurant back in my hometown in the 80's that I loved going to. The only pizza places we had back then other than Godfathers were Pizza Inn and Pizza Hut so going to Godfathers was a treat. I knew about this location in Spring Valley but never have tried it because I don't live nearby. Luckily for me, my work route puts me right in the vicinity on Fridays so this time, I decided to give it a try before heading home. Of course it wouldn't be hot by the time I finished at work and get home but reheating in the oven would suffice. I loaded the app on my phone and was surprised to learned that I earned a free one topping pie with a purchase of cheese or bread sticks. Cool. The app was/is a little buggy so I couldn't use it to order, causing me to order at the counter. No problem. I ordered a large meatlovers, cheese sticks, and was able to redeem my app coupon for a free pizza too. To quote the text generation: O-M-G! This pizza really takes me back. Mounds of gooey cheese stacked on top of the meats and sauce with a strong bacon flavor. Nice, buttery, crunchy crust with a good pizza bone. Awesome. The cheese sticks were really good also with a nice marinara sauce for dipping. I did not know Godfater's Pizza was still around until I drove by this place one day. They used to be big in the midwest back in the 90's. They are still around but not as big as they used to be. I decided to try there small combo as that used to be my favorite pizza back in the day. It still tasted as I remembered it. The service here was decent. I walked and ordered it for take out and did not take to long. I had to wait about 20 minutes or so. Not bad when you walk without preordering around lunchtime midweek. It is a little pricey but the supreme combo pretty much comes with everything. Overall, I would rate it around 3.75 stars. May eat here again if I was in the area and try some of there other specialy pies like the Taco pizza. read more
