I went to get an alignment here as it's a local business and wanted to support, however, they did not perform the alignment. Reason for it was bad ball joints. I understand and this is normal procedure and many shops will deny the service for this. But they still decided to want to charge me $80 dollars for "checking the vehicle" the alignment is $120 by the way. After arguing that this was outrageous the lady cordially and correctly did not charge me the $80 dollars.

She was able to get it back to where she was staying that week. I drove out the following day and was able to identify that the radiator had cracked. it was about 10:30am on Friday. I called around to several shops and most were willing to do the work, but couldn't get it done until Saturday or maybe even Monday. This was not ideal. All that changed when I called Don Perry's Garage. I was talking to Donny and he said he could probably get it done that day. I told him I was just passing through and he said he'd definitely get it done that day. He said "cmon down and we'll get you fixed up. I'll pick us up some lunch and you can hangout here till it's done." This is 100% true! So I headed on down and spent the afternoon with Donny and Kelly. We ate lunch together and chatted for a few hours. Hanging out there I got a real behind the scenes look at how they run their business. How they communicated with their customers on the phone or in person was all top shelf. The transparency they shared with their customers is like nothing I've seen in this business. If they made a mistake, they owned up to it. If they could get a better price on a part, they would and then would pass the savings on to the customer. I've got to also give a shoutout to their senior tech James. He's been there over 30 years and knows his stuff! There's a reason they have been in business as long as they have! The reality is, I probably will never need their service again. Our paths may never cross again. Out of all the places I called, this was the only shop that called me back right away and said they could look at it immediately and would even stay open past closing to help--which they did. I had my car towed over, and from the moment I got there, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Israel, the owner, took a look at my car right away! He replaced several parts for a fair price, kept us in the loop the whole time, and quickly figured out what was going on. I ultimately decided to get my car towed back to Houston. He let me keep the car there for a couple of days while I arranged a tow, held onto the keys, and personally gave them to the tow truck driver and sent us photos/updates when they arrived. Israel went above and beyond. He was seriously amazing--so kind, understanding, and genuinely helpful and knowledgeable when I needed it most. After receiving the truck his shifter is messed up, ac no longer works, and the stereo no longer works. By that time it was too late to take it back because it was an after service issue. Granted they took money off for keeping the truck so long, however, what is the point if you cause more damage. We will never be back. Horrible communication, work service, and customer service.
