Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been extremely frustrating. The work has been going on for over two months, and despite repeatedly asking the workers who have been in my apartment for a timeline, none of them seem to have any idea when the work will actually be completed. What is even more concerning is that the project manager apparently cannot provide a timeline either. As someone who works as a project manager myself, I understand that unexpected issues can affect a project schedule. What I do not understand is having absolutely no clear understanding of where a project stands, what work remains, what the next steps are, or even an estimated completion date. A competent project manager should be able to break a project into its individual components, establish milestones, identify dependencies, and provide at least a reasonable projected timeline--even if that timeline has to change. Instead, every person I speak with seems to have a different--or no--answer. Meanwhile, residents are left living with the consequences of an ongoing construction project with no end in sight. Delays happen. Unforeseen problems happen. Having no idea when your own project will be completed is a management problem. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you have a choice. I would not hire JR Johnson.

Yes, there are times that something gets overlooked, or there is a miscommunication, just as you'd expect with any company, but I never have to worry that it will get corrected promptly because they have integrity and value their reputation. As someone who is responsible for managing someone else's money, I always appreciate that Hunt Painting comes in on budget, and if a change order is needed, they don't try to "get rich" on items that are added after the contract is signed. As a homeowner, Hunt Painting has also done work inside my house. They started on time and finished early, made good recommendations on color and type of paint, and I can't say enough about the professionalism and politeness of the guys who worked so hard to make my wife happy.

They were able to fit me in the next day and get the job done, using all the materials that I already had on site. About as professional a company as one could hope for. I never met the team in person, but handled all the work via phone and could see their work and actions via full coverage surveillance system. Everything was done to the highest quality, and I was provided with multiple photos of the work during and after completion. After completion, I offered to pay more somewhat as a "tip" since their level of service deserved it, but they wouldn't have it. While I expect my roof to last for decades, I would love to find additional roofing projects in the future for the company. I hope that I can provide them additional work by reference at the very least - they deserve to be one of the more successful contractors around.

Prior to the beginning of work, Jim gave us a spreadsheet detailing what would be done by who and when. Throughout the work, he communicated with us frequently advising us what was happening and what would be done next. He worked with us all the way through, helping us make the necessary decisions that we needed to make and purchase the things that we agreed to purchase. Is quote was reasonable; not the lowest and not the highest. His staff was polite, efficient with time and made sure the work area was cleaned up each day, making sure the gate to the back yard was always shut to ensure the safety of our new puppy. In the busiest time of the year, Carlos kept us informed on when they anticipated to start on our project. The project actually started sooner than I had anticipated and I had not selected the house colors! He recommended using Benjamin Moore on Powell and to work with their color consultant. She was amazing. Carlos also went out of his way to show me pictures and to bring color samples by the house to help in the decision making process. Having to travel prior to final color selection was difficult. Carlos was flexible, rearranging the order of painting, to accommodate travel and to ensure that we would be happy with the final color selection. Once the project started he did a thorough walk around identifying rotting regions around windows and doors and personally replaced rotten wood and caulking all holes, cracks,etc. The end product is beautiful. We went with a beautiful, rich, blue with cream trim and black accents that compliment the style of our home.
