We went to this new place for an early Father's Day dinner. It is a remodeled Red Lobster. Place was very clean and the grill unit worked very well. The down draft vacuum system kept the grill smoke out of the room and off our clothes for the most part. Decor was nice with big screen TV's to watch the World Cup matches. The best sides we got were steamed eggs, baby back ribs, coconut shrimp, cheese corn and fried dough. The grilling meats were fresh and very good quality. Raymond our server was helpful and gave us just enough service to not be a nuisance but be there before we needed him. Overall great dining experience at a moderate price.

Really enjoyed this place! The sides were really good and the meats delicious. My only complaint was that there wasn't an exhaust directly over the grill plate. This led to a frequent adjustment of the fire when grilling the meats and a constant smoke directed to our faces.

Def one of my new favorite kbbq spots in Jax! Not only is the meat high quality, but the variety of different meats and sides you can order in is kind of crazy. Some highlight orders for me are the top blade steak, beef belly, kalbi steak, fish fillets, beef radish soup, and pineapple. Among many other delicious dishes of course. The only thing I wasn't too big of a fan of was the sweet fried dough. I was expecting like condensed milk, but it was the same glaze as the honey emulsion shrimp, so that's all I could taste. The servers are so friendly too, super quick to come around and take your orders so you're never just sitting around waiting.

So excited to come here especially being on a carnivore diet! Got their Seoul spicy chicken and they were real deal spicy so highly recommend if you love spicy food. Also got their beef brisket which was overall good. The part of the beef used for the brisket was inconsistent but again overall good. Beef bulgogi was definitely a hit as well! Steamed egg hit the craving (ask for sesame oil to drizzle on top). Our server was brought in from a neighboring restaurant but was very kind the whole time! I honestly just wish they had rice paper for future me not on a diet. But the inside is beautiful and unexpected for the location.

This place is so good! We've been at least 3 times already and they've only been open about 2-3 months. All of their meats are marinated so well and there's endless options for your apps and sides that are all included in their all you can eat price. I love the hibachi fried rice as my go to side and no other Korean bbq in Jax has fried rice included so this is a big plus for us! The service is always super fast. Their grills have vents built into them so you don't smell like k bbq when you leave and that's the absolute best because you can go when you're dressed up and not leave smelling like the meats and oils

Honey shrimp, calamari, dumplings, cinnamon pineapple, & that's just some of the sides!! Meats upon meats - way to much to mention!! We tried many of them. This was day 2 of a soft opening. They did a great job! The staff was friendly and had great recommendations. The place was dark and intimate but also had tables for groups and family. I would recommend!

Selina was our server today and definitely took excellent care of our group of four. She was super attentive. Made excellent recommendations and made sure to let us know of the specials served on different days. Safe to say she locked us in as returning customers. Food was super fresh and the K-pop in the background made for awesome ambiance.

The service and ambiance was really good. The food was unbelievable and definitely is the best Korean BBQ I've had in Jax. The quality of the meat and the sides you get for the all you can eat was phenomenal. It's our go to place for KBQQ.

We arrived on a Sunday evening. There were a couple of people that were sitting when we requested a table for 3, but the wait was about 5 minutes for our table to be ready which is not bad at all. They have an interesting system in place here for kids. If they are under 4ft then it's 1/2 the price, or if they are 3.5ft they are free. Otherwise it's 34.99. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Service was outstanding. I forgot our server's name, but the orders came out very quick. We tried most of the option from the beef and seafood section. The Kalbi "Tender" Steak was ordered twice. Thought it was very good. The fish did not grill very well, but it was tasty. The spicy calamari... I wasn't a fan of. Ventilation for the grill is great. Our clothing was not smokey at all, compared to other KBBQ locations we have been to. As far as sides. We ordered the garlic noodle, steamed egg, fried dough, corn cheese and pineapple. The sides were kind of forgettable, not as good as another AYCE Korean BBQ joint here in Jacksonville. Overall though we enjoyed our meal, and the service. A couple of things that aren't so great but not a dealbreaker is the kid pricing model, soda being flat, and the owner (maybe) offered to grill and cut our proteins but mostly kind of just hovered over the table which made things sort of awkward. I tried to play it off at the end, but next time will kindly decline.

The side dishes were very flavorful, and I also purchased two drinks that were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good customer service throughout my visit. The only thing is that they told me that they do not clean tripe in Korea which was hard to believe. I do want to share a concern regarding the preparation of the tripe soup. After beginning the meal, I noticed that the tripe did not appear to have been cleaned. At first, I wondered if this was simply the restaurant's style of preparation, but after researching further, I learned that improperly cleaned tripe can be both unpleasant and potentially unsafe to consume because tripe comes from the stomach lining of the animal. Uncleaned tripe may still contain food residue, digestive material, parasites, worms, bacteria, and strong bile or waste odors. This can potentially lead to issues such as foul smell, unpleasant taste, food poisoning, bacterial contamination including E. coli or Salmonella, and symptoms such as stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Proper cleaning is generally considered an essential part of preparing tripe, especially in professional restaurants where customers would quickly notice if the cleaning process was incomplete. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the staff, the quality of the drinks, and the excellent side dishes. I am only sharing my personal experience and concern specifically regarding the preparation of the tripe soup.

Whenever I leaned toward a 4, I found…read morethat I needed to leave out my feelings about fighting with the food I eat, which is difficult for me! But that's on me, not the restaurant. And the food, of which this is a hot pot cook and serve yourself full service restaurant has to be considered in my scoring and graded on that. Now, speaking of service, it was outstanding from the door greeter, our server, and having an opportunity to speak with the manager, I will say that the courtesy and attention to detail was evident throughout the eating cooking and eating experience. It has been a few years since I had eaten in this type of restaurant, and being it was my birthday, I kind of said "Oh no!" To myself as I knew what I was in for. But with the psychological game I was playing inside my head, I instantly made a shift and determined to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. It worked! Except my dearest was having difficulty chewing the meat. But again this was not due to the quality of the meats we chose, it was something else. But the food was very good. I loved the appetizers that came with our dinner at the start. I'm scared to eat kimchi because it's often fire on my tongue! But not this time - there was a little heat in most of the appetizers, but nothing that I couldn't handle. It's good to see the restaurant holding back some of the heat to help those who desire less burn from the taste. Now the meats we had all cooked well and timely in the pot. They did sneak a little Mexican in the meat choices with the pollo (chicken) asado! They had al pastor as well, and thought I had ordered it, but it didn't show up. Now, I would say on the pollo asado offering that I felt the spicing was a little too heavy. It was good and I do miss Mexican cuisine from my years in San Diego. We also had pork belly, which I didn't try because I don't eat pork, but it was a good looking option for those who do like it. Now I will say that I did really like the beef bulgogi - was nicely marinated and pretty tender and not overly chewy. Now, I will say that there were only two of us, but I think we would have fared better being in a group of four or more. I will say that the large padded seating booths are pretty awesome! We needed a lot of room to set all the appetizers and choices we made. I also wish I had gotten to try the carne asada and al pastor. But that's for another day :D I do love the ambiance of Gen Korean BBQ. It's modern in appearance. The spacing is good and it's very well-managed and the care in cleanliness is highly visible. It wasn't a busy time when we visited Gen, but we got to see others enjoying their meals here - and most clearly were large groups that seemed to know the drill better that we did at this type of restaurant. With Gen being in Town Center, I have to finally say that the price of the meal was very reasonable, especially when you have a complete menu to choose many items from. It was impressive. If you like Korean BBQ and restaurants of this type, you owe it to yourself to make a visit (and try to get a small group together to go with you)! Recommend: HIGH

The food was ready faster than the 15 minutes quoted, which was great. I enjoyed the bulgogi. It was tender and had good flavor. The pickled veggies and kimchi were the most flavorful sides. I also liked the japchae. The dumpling was too greasy, as evidenced by the grease in the wrapper and the egg and rice didn't have much flavor. The egg needed salt. Located in a pretty ordinary parking lot on Beach Blvd, this is definitely a little food truck that can deliver some fantastic food! The guy taking orders is super friendly and patient as a noob like me tried to figure out what to order. Ultimately went with the Premium Doshirak, the bibimbap and the kimbap. For both the doshirak and the bibimbap I got the bulgogi beef for the protein. On the kimbap I tried the ham. All were excellent. The Doshirak is a cool box filled with banchan - small side dishes, and cooked rice. The banchan include Kimche, Japchae, fried dumplings and some cool desserts. The blogs is excellent and all of the banchan tasted great. I thought the eggplant was a little mushy but the flavor was still really good. Bibimbap flavor was excellent as well. The only downside is that the rice at the bottom doesn't get all crunchy from being cooked at the bottom of the hot bowl. But it was a minor issue to me. And the kimbap was super fresh. The ham wasn't overpowering and it was a nice change from getting role bulgogi in the kimbap as well. The only wish I have is more variation on the proteins for the dishes we got. But the food is super tasty and I look forward to going back to try the fried chicken and well, anything else on the menu. Maybe I'll bring a matchbox car or two to help pass the time while waiting for the food!
