Tried K-Bop for a late lunch today. I had the Chicken Teriyaki bowl. My dining partner had the KFC bowl. My bowl had a nicely flavored grilled chicken with nicely favored Teriyaki sauce, along with glass noodles and some steamed rice. A few slices of carrot along with some cabbage were also in the dish. Very tasty. My lunch partner had the KFC bowl which has Korean fried chicken with some sauces along with the other items mentioned from my bowl. I tried a piece and it had a nice crunch. I had the lunch version of the chicken teriyaki bowl. Its size is deceptive in the photos. In fact, it's so large it gave me two meals! The chicken was tender and well-seasoned. I enjoyed every minute of eating it! Even without my crown! It came with a nice cabbage salad and rice noodles. I'd order it again anytime. My friend had the katsu bop. That's chicken katsu - and it was similar to the chicken teriyaki. It came with rice noodles and the cabbage salad as well. The guy at the front where you order your food was nice, but I was super bummed because their ice cream machine was broken and apparently has been broken for a long time. (They should definitely get this fixed soon because they advertise their ice cream quite a bit so it was disappointing to find out it's broken). Wow! I was blown away by this hole in the wall restaurant. Although I read the reviews about the corndog, I had pictures of a state fair corndog in my mind and it did nothing to peak my interest. However, when ordering, we were told if we bought two bowls, we would receive a free corn dog. I am so glad they offered this! The hotdog was an all beef. She gave me the wrong food instead of what I ordered though she was the one who took my order in the first place. Makes no sense. Takes 15 minutes just to get some noodles and they almost forgot my white rice. Had to wait for 6$ noodles that weren't even cooked all the way through. Finally, it was about time I tried this place out. Passed by this restaurant several times and wanted to try it previously. I met up with a friend and she's had it a few times and said it was good because of their cheese filled corn dogs. Entered into the restaurant with a cheery staff member at the front and recommended a few options. I asked about how much cheese is filled and he explained it. Because it sounded like there was going to be a lot, I opted out and wanted just the breaded corn dog, no cheese. I didn't want to feel heavy or bloated with cheese (as I do have a mild intolerance). I got the Sweet Gochujang corn dog, KFC Bop and Dragon Fruit/Passion Fruit Tea with jelly. My friend got the Tempura Shrimp, Japchae and Plain Corn dog (with cheese filled). The corn dog was good and it did have a lot of breading to it but that's expected in a corn dog, of course. The KFC Bop came with pickled veggies, japchae, rice and mandu. The chicken was delicious and liked the blended flavors together. The ambiance was nice and quiet at first and then after 12:30 was when it started to pick up. The only minor nuisance was the flies kept coming around and we kept waving it out. And, my friend noticed that her corn dog only had 1 tiny dog and the rest filled with cheese. She remembered there was 2 or 3 pieces when they first opened, but things may had changed since the economic changes. Wow, wow, wow K-Bop Korean Kitchen was super unexpectedly delicious! We showed up a little after 11 on a Saturday and walked right up to the register and ordered no line no issues. Of course we had to order the corn dogs so we tried three different ones. My husband also decided that he wanted the KFC bowl and I had to get a Boba Tea. The Boba Tea was good but I would say it was as good as any other Boba Teas I have had in the past. The corn dogs were SO good, they were also different from what I was expecting. When I hear corn dogs I think of the hot dog as being a major part of it however with these the toppings, "shell" and cheese are the star of the show and the hot dog is just the side piece. While the corn dogs were not what I was expecting they still managed to exceed my my expectations. I only had a bite or two of the KFC bowl and it was crispy and delicious! I went to K-Bop last Sunday as soon as I saw the news offering for Korean corn dogs! Going inside, there wasn't too long of a wait, and I ordered 1x gochujang and 1x hot cheeto corndogs! Moving on with my review, these corndogs were pretty dang good! I loved the light, fluffy, and sweet crispy exterior and stringy cheese on the inside. In addition, each corn dog flavor works very well; preferably, the gochujang is my favorite as I love the sweet, subtle, smokey flavor with the contrast of the spicy mayo. My only critique is that despite the bold flavors on the outside, I did feel that there wasn't much hot dog meat on the inside.
