Plenty of parking and seating. Pretty entrance with a fountain feature. We were warmly greeted and seated promptly . The place was clean and we loved the sleek conveyer wall in which we can choose our veggies and noodles. They had an array of meats and seafood. The waitress was friendly and attentive. This was not only a place to dine, it was a fun experience! Definitely returning !

We absolutely love dining here. The variety here is incredible, and there is truly something for everyone. My personal favorite is the beef bulgogi, along with all of the fresh vegetables that come around. I especially love the bok choy and zucchini. We also got the beef short ribs, which were tender and flavorful, as well as the beef brisket, which was equally delicious. One of the best parts of the experience is the fully stocked sauce bar. There are so many options to choose from, and I love creating my own custom sauce to pair with the vegetables. I usually make a rice bowl with my favorite sauce, vegetables, and some of the grilled meats. My boyfriend had the spicy szechuan soup base with ramen in addition to the BBQ, and everything was outstanding. They also offer beer and wine, which was a nice touch. I enjoyed a crisp pinot grigio, and my boyfriend had a beer with his meal. The quality of the food, the wide selection, and the fun interactive dining experience keep us coming back. We highly recommend it here to anyone looking for a delicious and meal!

This restaurant opened a year ago and it remains as one of our go to spots. For all you can eat, it really is a great deal. Jack is the guy at the front. He always greets us with a smile. A conveyor brings veggies and noodles around. A self serve section to create your own sauce concoctions. And plenty of choices for the grill or hot pot. A fun and casual restaurant with a good vibe.

This was my second time at Lanjie, and was equally as delicious as the first time! Admittedly, it's a little overwhelming the first time you go to a hot pot, but once you've got it down, you're good to go. This place is kind of neat, they've got a vegetable conveyor belt, a buffet line with all kinds of sauces, meats, seafoods, a few selections of fruit and ice cream. For $40, I think it's a pretty sweet deal and as a bonus, the service was great both times. The staff were very patient and do well at explaining the process. The tables tend to get cluttered with a lot of bowls and plates, but again the staff were quick to keep everything pretty tidy. The seating is kind of odd in some instances because only the people closest to the conveyor belt can pull things off. So if you are at a table of six, only the two closest can reach the belt. And you do have one large table for 14, which was more than enough room for a big group. The only downside is the conveyor belt is on the outside of the room, but since you have to get up to get your proteins anyway, it's not more of a walk to get them. It was a great experience and perfect for a night out. Almost like dinner and a show!

Had a good experience. When we were first seated there was food on the ground by our table but the host immediately sat us somewhere else and apologised. You have an option to do hotpot OR kbbq , you can also do both! The mushroom hotpot was a salty too salty for me but you can mix or change up your hot pot. Plenty of parking, it's in a plaza. Ice cream and some fruit for desert.

First time at a hot pot BBQ for me. We walked in and were greeted by a very nice gentleman who I assumed is the manager or owner. Right away my eyes were feeling watery due to the smoke from the BBQ's at the tables. The man offered to sit us at one of the tables where there was less smoke, which I really appreciated. Our server explains the procedure. If you're new to hot pot like I am you choose your base which is your soup. That's the biggest decision. I've also posted a picture of the all the different bases. You can also get hot pot and barbecue, which is what my husband did . I only got hot pot and that was plenty for me. I first chose the red curry base when it came I wasn't really happy with the flavor, but that was just me. I had tasted my friends and she had the Tom Kai I really liked the flavor. Our server was happy to switch it out for me. It did take quite a while. She was very busy with a lot of different tables. Procedure is- You heat your hot pot up with a little knob on the table which is a stove. Once it's boiling you can add your items that you've chosen from the buffet. I chose noodles, shrimp, scallops, and several other items. There's a lot to choose from on the buffet. Most of the other proteins like beef, pork and lamb are for the barbecue. The restaurant also has a conveyor belt going around where you can take your vegetables. I really enjoyed the hot pot but honestly, I could only eat one bowl of soup even though it's all you can eat. It's very filling. My husband had the hot pot plus he cooked his meat at the table on the barbecue. Once you get the hang of it it's easy. My husband and I both enjoyed it but said that if we really want a big bowl of soup, we would not go back there because it's just too expensive for what it is. if you're a big eater and plan on going to the buffet several times, then this is probably a great place for you. The soup was very good and we enjoy the experience.

This is the newest BBQ and hot pot in Jacksonville. New, meaning the location or the building itself is brand new, not an old business that was just changed to a new one. So it was spotlessly clean! We have been here twice and both with large groups, so we were always seated at an area where it is more private with our own server to take care everything for us, except get the food from the buffet. I like this type of BBQ place where we do not have twait for the server to bring us the meat! In some restaurants, you can only order 3-4 meats at a time. Sometimes the wait is longer which is not beneficial since we still have to cook them and there is a maximum time of 1.5-2 hrs eating time. Lanjie has none of that, we were able to cook and eat to our hearts content lol. I would advise though to just get the BBQ or the Hot Pot, not both as you will get full easily and won't get your money's worth.

Brightly lit interior with casual decor. It's buffet style - think Mongolian bbq - but you grill your food yourself. Entering and exiting the restaurant is basically a long walk around a border half wall. I only had the Korean bbq as I didn't want to fill up on liquid (hot pot). Service was good but all they're really doing is refilling drinks. They have a conveyor belt circling veggies and those seemed pretty minimal for options. You can add those veggies to your hot as well as grill them so that's pretty cool but nothing really special. I did appreciate the larger than what I'm used to grill and simple controls. Your typical fair of marinated beef and pork. They had salmon and shrimp as well but the salmon was cut so small, it doesn't do well on the grill. Another cool thing they have is a sauce bar - again think Mongolian - which you can use to enhance your grill and hot pot experience. More of a 3.5 stars but not quite a 4. It's a welcome addition to the area.

To be honest, this was one of the most mediocre experience I've had at a Hotpot place. For the price that I paid I expected a lot more selection of meat, seafood, and quality of service. What I do like about this is that it's located in the heart of St. Johns County a newer Plaza and the restaurant fairly new so it is very clean. However, I have high expectations for the taste of the broth I selected which was Tom-yum flavor. After I used up the broth to cook the seafood, our waitress refilled my broth with just hit water & made the remaining of my broth tasteless which was very disappointing. The conveyor belt with veggies & noodles is a nice touch for convenience when selecting your side dishes. This is a nice addition of Asian cuisine to the St. John's community however, I believe that there should be a lot more improvements on the way in order for this place to be up to standard.

Run, run as fast as you can - do not stop at go do not collect 200. Stretch your tummy out, put on your favorite pair of stretchy pants and head here right away. We've never been to an establishment like this, we walked in and were provided with the best server in the universe. Her name is AYU. She took the time to explain every single thing to us in detail. I'm celiac so I asked my 4082 questions related to gluten, she answered them quickly and with confidence. Ayu also made sure that our drinks were always full, and came by often to see if we needed anything. You have many different soups to choose from vegetable is the only gluten-free one and that is OK, because then you have an array of vegetables, proteins and starch that are gluten-free to add to this delicious soupbase. Not only is the soup out of this world, but then they have shrimp, steak, all sorts of different proteins that are also gluten-free. It's quiet in there, spacious, I love the concept of your own table where your soup base goes and you have your own grill right there. What we thought was very unique is the conveyor belt of vegetables that passed by you, take what you want! Is it pricey? I guess that depends on what you think... All you can eat steak, shrimp, crab, fish, octopus, squid etc. etc. etc. all you can eat vegetables two people including no alcohol it was just under $100. We were obviously novices because people that were there when we arrived were still eating when we left... We can't make a habit of this - or we wouldn't be able to fit through the front door :-) but it is definitely on our rotation!

We have gone to Lanjie multiple times since they have opened and they never disappoint! Their staff is always extremely friendly, the restaurant is very clean, and the food is always fresh. This is my 10yr olds favorite restaurant! If you're a Pepsi lover like I am, you'll be happy to know that it's one spot without coke! They have both hot pot and Korean bbq options. You can decide to have both, or just one.

A fun time and tasty food which we cooked for ourselves table side. Lamb, steak, chicken, scallops, shrimp, blue crab and much much more. And a good selection of fresh veggies and noodles cruising by our table. Jack and Nancy are great hosts and manage a nice operation. We will be back. https://www.lanjiehotpotbbq.com/

Do you love a fun eating experience? Do you want all you care to eat including dessert? Do you want to feel like you are both dining in the future and in the past? Then LanJie Hot Pot and BBQ is for you! Spoiler alert it was ABSOLUTELY for me! We have been to hot pot and bbq restaurants before and it is always a hit for me but this restaurant had a few things going for it. 1. Great selection of food! Seafood, red meat, tofu, chicken they have it all! 2. Super friendly and helpful employees! 3. It's very clean! In past experience hot pot locations have not always been the cleanest, not that they are typically dirty they just succumb to that buffet mess pretty often but the employees at LanJie are so attentive there was no mess. I am pretty sure this is going to be a new spot for us and I am so excited!

Ask the Community - Lanjie Hot Pot & BBQ

Does the table share 1 soup base or does each person get their own?

Thank you for reaching out. Yes, every guest will have his or her own soup base.

Is this buffet style or do we have to ask /order from a server?

In general, you order the soup base and drinks from the server. Otherwise there is a conveyor belt that rotates veggies and buffet style for meats/seafood plus a sauce bar.

Is there a conveyor belt carrying food around the restaurant as shown in your ad on Facebook?

    Yes.

Visiting my son & DIL this past weekend, both of my son's dining suggestions were wing-focused. But my vegetarian DIL (she eats some seafood) seemed to be more interested in Bonchon than the other potential spot, so I took her side to make our choice. I can usually find something to eat on any menu, in spite of my immature palette, and Bonchon was no exception. In fact, there are several other things I want to try now! We started with the Korean Cucumber Salad & Bao Buns with Pork Belly. No one that knows me will be surprised that the cucumber salad was much too hot for me. But here is something unexpected... I loved the cole slaw on the Bao Bun, and the sauces were complementary enough that the spice level was fine for me. I would definitely order the Bao Buns again, and try the other meats. For my meal, I ordered the Bibimbap with Bulgogi, and really enjoyed it. Their marinated beef was very tasty, and of course I love an egg on just about anything. Another (non)shock, I did not care for the Bibimbap Sauce because it was rather hot; I appreciated that it was served on the side. Hubs said the mushrooms & caramelized onions were very good, but I didn't eat either. Then I tried a Classic Crunch drumstick, and fell in love! Yes, I bit into it like y'all do, and ate the skin, too. What a delicious piece of chicken! I didn't even need a dipping sauce (& I can't remember what the boys chose anyway). My son insisted that I'd enjoy a Korean BBQ wing also, and I'm sure I would, but I was already getting full. Next time! Also for my next visit, my DIL got a Mopo Corndog as her appetizer (though she also ate a lot of the cucumber salad), and it looked amazing! The name was confusing (to me), but there is no hot dog inside, so I want to try one. Fried mozzarella & potato cubes! They have two versions, so of course I want to try both; although I'm rather skeptical about the sugar-cinnamon coating, I'm anticipating an unexpectedly delicious bite. Service was fantastic, although they weren't very busy yet on this Saturday evening. Our server was very attentive & friendly, and none of us waited for a new drink or refill. My son & DIL evidently visit often, so I'm sure we'll return. I wish we had a Bonchon location closer to us!

The side dishes were very flavorful, and I also purchased two drinks that were absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and provided good customer service throughout my visit. The only thing is that they told me that they do not clean tripe in Korea which was hard to believe. I do want to share a concern regarding the preparation of the tripe soup. After beginning the meal, I noticed that the tripe did not appear to have been cleaned. At first, I wondered if this was simply the restaurant's style of preparation, but after researching further, I learned that improperly cleaned tripe can be both unpleasant and potentially unsafe to consume because tripe comes from the stomach lining of the animal. Uncleaned tripe may still contain food residue, digestive material, parasites, worms, bacteria, and strong bile or waste odors. This can potentially lead to issues such as foul smell, unpleasant taste, food poisoning, bacterial contamination including E. coli or Salmonella, and symptoms such as stomach cramps, vomiting, or diarrhea. Proper cleaning is generally considered an essential part of preparing tripe, especially in professional restaurants where customers would quickly notice if the cleaning process was incomplete. Overall, I appreciated the kindness of the staff, the quality of the drinks, and the excellent side dishes. I am only sharing my personal experience and concern specifically regarding the preparation of the tripe soup.

Whenever I leaned toward a 4, I found…read morethat I needed to leave out my feelings about fighting with the food I eat, which is difficult for me! But that's on me, not the restaurant. And the food, of which this is a hot pot cook and serve yourself full service restaurant has to be considered in my scoring and graded on that. Now, speaking of service, it was outstanding from the door greeter, our server, and having an opportunity to speak with the manager, I will say that the courtesy and attention to detail was evident throughout the eating cooking and eating experience. It has been a few years since I had eaten in this type of restaurant, and being it was my birthday, I kind of said "Oh no!" To myself as I knew what I was in for. But with the psychological game I was playing inside my head, I instantly made a shift and determined to make it a fun and enjoyable experience. It worked! Except my dearest was having difficulty chewing the meat. But again this was not due to the quality of the meats we chose, it was something else. But the food was very good. I loved the appetizers that came with our dinner at the start. I'm scared to eat kimchi because it's often fire on my tongue! But not this time - there was a little heat in most of the appetizers, but nothing that I couldn't handle. It's good to see the restaurant holding back some of the heat to help those who desire less burn from the taste. Now the meats we had all cooked well and timely in the pot. They did sneak a little Mexican in the meat choices with the pollo (chicken) asado! They had al pastor as well, and thought I had ordered it, but it didn't show up. Now, I would say on the pollo asado offering that I felt the spicing was a little too heavy. It was good and I do miss Mexican cuisine from my years in San Diego. We also had pork belly, which I didn't try because I don't eat pork, but it was a good looking option for those who do like it. Now I will say that I did really like the beef bulgogi - was nicely marinated and pretty tender and not overly chewy. Now, I will say that there were only two of us, but I think we would have fared better being in a group of four or more. I will say that the large padded seating booths are pretty awesome! We needed a lot of room to set all the appetizers and choices we made. I also wish I had gotten to try the carne asada and al pastor. But that's for another day :D I do love the ambiance of Gen Korean BBQ. It's modern in appearance. The spacing is good and it's very well-managed and the care in cleanliness is highly visible. It wasn't a busy time when we visited Gen, but we got to see others enjoying their meals here - and most clearly were large groups that seemed to know the drill better that we did at this type of restaurant. With Gen being in Town Center, I have to finally say that the price of the meal was very reasonable, especially when you have a complete menu to choose many items from. It was impressive. If you like Korean BBQ and restaurants of this type, you owe it to yourself to make a visit (and try to get a small group together to go with you)! Recommend: HIGH
