This place continues to disappoint me. I have been there once or twice a year since they first opened nearly 10 years ago and Sneakers was the only sports bar at the beach. I keep trying to give them another chance, so when they invited me to make a reservation for the World Cup game tonight, I took the bait. I should have gone to Mojo's or Strings instead! I stopped ordering a brisket sandwich long ago because the buns were always hard and stale. Lately, I've been going with the two meat plate because the sides are usually very good, especially the potato salad and cowboy baked beans. The turkey is usually pretty good as are the ribs, but the brisket is always pathetic, especially for a guy from Texas looking for perfection. To be fair to the management, the bar and atmosphere never fails to impress me, but when I am missing good old fashioned Texas barbecue brisket, I will be going somewhere else that knows what they are doing. Come on y'all... My summary: over rated, over priced, and over done. We are frequent flyers at ABBQ because of the convenience with kids; however, I've never been on a weekday for lunch. It was nice to see some lunch specials so I could try something that isn't on the regular menu. The turkey club wrap was phenomenal- wish it was on the regular menu also. I would order it every time. The waitress suggested adding a side of honey mustard and I was glad I did. It's a unique twist on traditional honey mustard as it had a spicy kick to it. My friends ordered the brisket Reuben and said it was great. Service was okay on this day- there were only 2 employees working the entire place. I don't think they are typically busy during weekday lunch but this day was a school holiday so more people than expected. What we enjoyed here was the crispy bacon-wrapped jalapeno popper; however, the filling in the poppers needs more punch! When almost every restaurant nearby is serving the same seafood, it's so refreshing to find a place with incredible BBQ that completely hits the spot after a day in the sun. It made an already delicious appetizer even better. For our entrée, we shared the Texas "Trinity" (the "give me all the meats" option), which comes with ribs, sausage, and brisket. The ribs were unbelievable--fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The sausage comes in two varieties: regular and cheddar jalapeño. The cheddar jalapeño has a nice kick without being overpowering and was absolutely worth trying. On this visit, we upgraded our sides to two fresh salads, but during our first visit we had the baked beans and coleslaw, and they were both fantastic. Awesome spot in AB and love the outdoor area on a nice day. Visited with a large group on a Saturday and there was a cornhole tournament going on. Food was insanely fast. This has been my 20th trip to this location from the friendly staff a large bar with daily specials happy hour the food is of course a barbecue menu which they make grounds. There is a large outdoor area and plenty of room if you have kids with you, my food was so much to eat. I had a two platter two sides, smoked turkey and the barbecue beef was outstanding. The server handled it like a pro, with the patience of an angel, ensuring everyone could pay right at the table without any hassle. The food? Incredible as always. We shared a variety of appetizers--do not leave without trying the deviled eggs, they're absolutely the bomb. The stuffed jalapeños were another crowd favorite. The deviled eggs were delicious, the nachos caused us to get quiet (everyone's mouth was full and appreciative), and the burnt tips were buttery soft yet perfectly seasoned. The brisket was satisfying and the pickled sides along with the yellow sauce (I don't know the name) was an amazing combo. I had the cardamom frothy and I definitely will be making those at my next party (Bridgerton cocktail to represent Kate or a movie watch cocktail). First off, our server was truly the one who made the experience great. He was super awesome and kind/helpful! I think his name was Spencer (but I could be totally wrong.) The food was just ok, I wish they would've seasoned the brisket a bit more as it didn't have much flavor without using a sauce to accompany it. I did have chopped/sliced and I will say the chopped was much more flavorful than the sliced brisket. I ordered the one meat plate and I will say you do get a lot of food for the price - the portion sizes were great. I also was able to pick two sides and I ordered the Mac & cheese and french fries. The Mac and cheese wasn't great but was edible. I wish it was a bit more creamy. The French fries were super good as they were thick and crispy and you can tell they make them in-house. The patio section looks amazing & must be a fun time when it's hopping (I went for a weekday lunch). I decided to try the 1513 sandwich | sliced brisket, pulled pork, sausage, coleslaw, pickles, & ABBQ's tangy BBQ sauce. I loved every single bit of this sandwich except one- the bun. It wasn't hearty enough to hold up to the ingredients. Guess what- I didn't mind AT ALL because I promptly tipped everything off the bun & onto the amazing fries and thoroughly enjoyed the meal that way. Each of the meats were great and paired really well with the coleslaw, pickles, and sauce. The brisket looked good but family said the pork was just ok. On other days it may be better. Large Smokers are in a screened room on the deck so it probably was a Bad day for me. Heard that they had slow smoked beef ribs with two sides on the weekend and since I hadn't had some in awhile I decided to venture way out to the beach for pickup. Concerned that they would be sold out by the time I made it there, I reached out to them. The employees who answered my email inquiries (Dylan Lynch and Michelle) were very nice and helpful. I just wanted to make sure that they could be reserved ahead of time and the answer was yes. I put in an order for 2 orders with mac and cheese, potato salad, seasonal veggies (which was green beans), and cowboy beans. I decided to park in the additional lot when I got there because I knew that there wouldn't be a spot in the main lot. Turns out the additional lot was packed as well so I made a temporary spot. I walked over and was surprised at the outside area. Definitely a party atmosphere with music, picnic tables, and outdoor games. The bar being half inside and half outside was pretty cool. I went inside and let the hostess know that I had a pickup order. She checked on it and told me 2 minutes before it comes out. I figured that they were bagging it all together since it was a mix of hot and cold items. I appreciated that. While waiting I looked around and I really like the large, open, barn feeling I got. She handed me my food, I headed back to my car which was still there hahaha and headed home. Wow I was not expecting the rib to be that big but for the price it makes since. I will say that the rib was pretty fatty but it tasted amazing! Of the sides, I really like the beans. You could definitely taste the roasted tomatoes and it's not sweet.
