    Free Soup and Salad
    Steven C.

I always wanted to try this place since I heard of it but never got the chance until recently. Fusion food has never been my favorite cuisine but the combination of Italian/Japanese piqued my interest. [[ Location ]] It's in a familiar plaza in Milpitas most noticeably with the Lion's Grocery Store but it has a ton of other stores in the area too. There is plenty of parking but it can get crowded sometimes when its busy (aka lunch/dinner) but you'll always find parking. You might have to walk a bit further. [[ Restaurant ]] In my opinion, the first thing you will notice is that this place is SMALL. It's really nicely decorated inside but it just feels small overall. It wasn't too busy when we went but I can see it filling up on the weekends. [[ Service ]] I'm not sure if they normally do this but they went around and gave us free salad and a cup of soup to anyone who wanted it in the restaurant. I thought that was a nice surprise and a nice touch that made the dining experience really nice. Also I'm a huge fan of their free birthday treat. Most places just give you a small piece of cake or something but La Casa Mia gives you multiple scoops of ice cream and a nice happy birthday sign at the end of the meal. I thought that was really touching and the whole group was able to enjoy the ice cream without feeling like we had to control how big of a spoon we got. [[ Food ]] I feel like we got to try most of the more interesting food here but the group got the following: 1.) French Fries with Truffle Oil 2.) Carbonara with Udon ($2 add on) 3.) Mentaiko Mayo Mochi Cheese Pizza 4.) Salmon Shimeji Mushroom Risotto with Noodles Overall i think they did a good job with the balance. The Japanese / Italian flavors were equally balanced and nothing felt overpowering which made the dishes very good and easy for hesitant people who haven't had fusion food before. I don't think there is a dish I did not like and I was very happy with the meal. I think the most fun to eat was the Mochi Cheese Pizza because I did not think Mochi would be a good substitute for the carbs of a pizza but it worked just fine and tasted spectacular. The French Fries with Truffle Oil was also really good but I thought the portion sizes were too small.

It's been on my to-go list for a long time and I finally got a chance to visit. I love the earthy and homey aesthetic; it made me feel at home. It's spacious and has plenty of seating. My group did have to wait awhile for the food to come out but the service was attentive. Payment comes in a little bucket which I thought was cute. I definitely would come back to try their other menu items~! Food: - Mentaiko Cream: saucy, noodles were well-cooked. gave a generous amount of cod roe with the pasta - Carbonara: the bacon definitely completes the meal, toppings were proportioned well with the pasta.

Wow! It's so great to have this spot in Milpitas. We love Japanese Italian fusion and had been looking for a local spot to get our fix. Very cute decor in the restaurant, almost like a garden or afternoon tea vibe which we really liked. The servers were very nice and were able to point out what items on the menu were vegetarian for my family family. We wound up getting the Pomodoro, the mushroom melody pizza the katsu pasta and the uni, with some bread and fries as appetizers. The bread was very fresh, warm, and fluffy. Very tasty. The fries were interesting, clearly fresh cut single fry fries, so don't expect a super crispy fry, but the potato taste was quite nice. The mushroom pizza was a highlight, we loved the combination of the asian mushrooms, lots of umami with a nice crisp crust, highly recommend this one. My uni pasta was great, perfectly seasoned, salty with a fresh seafood aroma from the uni and the ikura salmon roe, I would get this again in a heartbeat. Desserts were decent, I was hoping to get the Match panacotta but they were out. We got some ice cream and the Casatta instead which was ok, I would probably skip the Casatta in the future and hope to get the panacotta instead. All in all this is a very solid pasta spot with reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!

Good place for lunch at this Italian / Asian fusion restaurant. The kids meal was a hit with the 4 year old. And the adult items were pretty good too. The clam pasta had a good balance of taste and texture. Curry rice had an overwhelming amount of cheese!

Got to try La Casa Mia again, this time in Milpitas! This location's interior is very cozy. I ordered the Carbonara and Truffle Fries. They oddly came out at the same time, I would have preferred some time apart. But that's okay, still delicious :) The truffle fries are so long and I love the aioli it comes with. Carbonara super creamy and delicious. Poached egg on top and everything was perfect. Pasta was the perfect al dente too.

Ambience : such a CUTE shop! Service : This sweet asian lady helped us and she was so so kind and answered any questions we had about the menu! Food : The pasta was not my favorite, the noodles were a bit hard.

Ambiance: very adorable Japanese cafe style. From interior to menu design is very cute. Service: the staff is welcoming and helpful. They are considerate and careful with orders and serving. Food: the mustard chicken is in bigger chunks than karaage, but the flavor and crispiness is great! The season limited yuzu pepper clam pasta is a bit pity. The sauce is too light and the yuzu pepper paste only comes with a little bit. On the contrary and seared salmon pasta is flavorful and strong with Asian fusion flavors.

The fusion food here is so unique and yummy. The mentaiko mochi pizza is so delicious, flavorful, and has very strong mentaiko flavor so if you're into that it's super yummy. The mochi chunks are also so chewy and fresh. Such a unique way to eat mochi that's savory. Even the carbonara pasta was so creamy and comforting. The bacon wasn't too overpowering and I enjoyed the small bits. The pork cutlet in the spaghetti pasta was also really good and lightly crispy and very juicy. We really enjoyed everything. I think this is the perfect place to try something new and eat out with friends. It's pretty small inside with a cozy atmosphere.

The staff is so incredibly kind and accommodating. You can really tell they care about customer experience. The food was delicious! The noodles were so chewy and soft, cooked to perfection! The space feels more like a cozy café than a traditional restaurant, which adds to its charm. Overall, a warm, welcoming spot with great food and a relaxing atmosphere!

    Salmon shimeji mushroom risotto

We decided to grab dinner here this past Sunday. The online ordering system on the website wasn't working (it would not accept payments), so we ordered by phone and paid on site when picking up. Our order was ready by the quoted wait time of 30 minutes. Service was standard and sufficient. The place had a cute interior setting. The plaza lot was crowded but not impossible to find parking. We got the salmon shimeji mushroom risotto, veggie pomodoro, and side salad which was very colorful. The pomodoro had tiny bits and pieces of vegetables but it was so little that it felt like eating plain noodles with tomato sauce. A bit disappointing. The risotto was better, a nice mix of salmon, mushrooms, and fish eggs. It was creamy and delish, even if the size of the dish was tiny. I'm giving 3 stars based on value and overall experience.

Osaka Pizza Japanese Style - Excellent Bacon, Onion, Mozzarella Cheese, Takoyaki Sause

The food is good and is Japanese style which is different from other spaghetti restaurants, this is definitely Asian style and taste. The Osaka Pizza is surprisingly amazing and yummy. The servers are friendly and nice.

At La Casa Mia, I ordered the carbonara. The carbonara had a rich, creamy taste after mixing the egg together. The portion size was just right. I felt full and satisfied after finishing my meal. The interior was decorated beautifully and made me feel at home. The service was a bit slow but when the waitress came by to check up on us, she noticed that we ran out of water. She made sure to promptly provide us with a new jug of water, which I appreciated. I also asked for my bacon to be put on the side and my request was accommodated. I would return again to try out more from the rest of the menu.

MY friend and I came on a weekday at open, as we don't like to wait. We were seated quickly. What a cute spot! The decor is very instagram worthy and easy on the eyes. The food itself was okay. I don't think there's anything special about it, but it's fun with the atmosphere. Service was quick and friendly, but food wise... I wasn't impressed. I would still go back and try it again, but first impress was just ok, def could have been better. I found the food lacking in flavor.

There aren't many businesses in this complex so there's always plenty of parking. I inside of the restaurant was small but had plenty of tables. It was a slow day on that weekday early dinner time. We asked to order our items for take out. We waited not too long as I remember. How was the food? Fried Calamari- for only being a couple minutes away I wonder why the calamari was already almost cold when we ate it. It was pretty disappointing. Maybe they just had it in the box while they waited for the rest of our order. I don't know. Flavor was good. Pizza Primavera - It was good, I was okay with it. The pizza dough wasn't my favorite but it was fine. White Pasta - I honestly don't remember what the name was but it was an item my bf ordered. This was terrible. Like there was too much roux to make the bechamel. It tasted of flour. Not much salt, not much of other flavors. Not enough milk and cheese and butter. He took a bite and put it down. Came here on a weekday for dinner and it was mostly empty. We got the chicken parm and the margherita pizza. With the margherita pizza, the dough was obviously bought premade and frozen. It was dry and hard as expected from a premade frozen pizza dough. Not sure if the whole thing was bought frozen. There was generous amounts of cheese with one sad basil leaf of each quarter. One positive thing I can add about the pizza is that the cheese does have a satisfying flavor, giving me a nostalgic flashback to school lunch pizza. As for the pasta, the chicken has a strange taste (maybe too strong on a vodka marinade?). There was way too much sauce for the amount of pasta, and it had a very light and bright flavor, not terrible but definitely lacking depth and any nuances of aromatics or herbs. The chicken was not breaded and instead grilled. Servers were attentive, but seemed to have a lot of staff mostly standing around.

And why is he walking around our event with a creepy look in his eyes and disrespecting my family with his unsolicited comments? Thats the owner. There are other comments that talk about him. Be warned. Zahir does not have a grasp on people skills and the tone of his voice switches from soft old man to grumpy old man without warning. He sat at a desk during the event with a judging side eye while my family filled in for a crew he did not adequately coordinate with. Made no sense that my family became the workers at their own event, and the venue lacked communication on how this event should flow. I did not finish my food, but it got the job done. Satiated at best. I preferred the appetizers that my family brought. The space is very humble and intimate and has a nice outdoor area that offered a break when my family needed a breather. The place is an older building so ventilation did struggle. However, Zahir locked a side door and told the guests that he would kick them out if they were seen using that exit. Fun fact, that side door was originally the planned enter/exit for this event. Parking lot is small but theres street parking available. A small Indian food truck took a portion of the parking lot and I would rather eat there instead of this place. Save yourself a trip. Book somewhere else.

The waitress said the parm was very popular, but the linguine was her favorite, so I went with that. LOTS of clams and a nice slightly thicken sauce that stuck to the pasta and didn't drip off. My wife loved her veal. Prices were all reasonable. Overall, this is a great place for a date, group get together, or casual night out. We'll be back!

I found this charming little Italian spot and thought it'd be the ideal place to celebrate my…read morepartner's birthday. I made a reservation for a Thursday evening, and even though it's right in the heart of downtown, we were lucky and managed to find street parking in front of the restaurant with free EV charging! Right when we stepped in, the interior is decked out in a modern art deco style. Vibrant & fun colors while still maintained a sosphiscated touch. After a few recommendations from our server, we decided to try: Mushroom Arancini (10/10): These are amazing, as soon as they brought it out, we can both instantly smelled the truffle oil. The exterior were crispy & pipping hot, the inside has creamy mushroom. It was certain my favorite of the night! Rigatoni alla Vodka (8/10): A solid pasta! The sauce was great and balanced. There was a good amount of sauce that coated in the pasta. The pasta itself was perfectly al dente! This is a staple dish but I felt like it might lack an interesting flair. Stuffed Branzino (8/10): Another solid dish! The whole were already debone which made it so much easier and fussed free. The skin on top was insanely crispy, the meat were juicy and overall tasted very healthy and fresh! It was a nice paired to the heavy pasta dish! They also gave us 2 cute canolis as a free birthday dessert which were super good! Overall, this is a beautiful spot for a date night and I'm glad I took my partner here! I even got $20 off the bill just by downloading their app and creating an account. Definitely planning to come back!

My boyfriend took us here for a late birthday celebration and upon arriving, we immediately noticed…read morehow beautiful the inside was. The ambiance was perfect for date night. We started with the garlic bread for appetizers. It was well presented but I think it would've been well paired with some sort of dipping sauce because it was a little dry. My boyfriend ordered the thousand layer lasagna and really enjoyed it. I ordered the rigatoni and thought it was just okay. I didn't realize the dish didn't come with protein so it felt like the dish was missing something. The sauce itself was nice but for some reason, some of the pasta was undercooked and some of it was al dente. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate pudding and tiramisu. The presentation was so beautiful. Both my boyfriend and I loved the pudding most -- I would definitely order this again. The tiramisu wasn't bad but it would've been better if it had a stronger coffee taste and if it was a little more moist. The wait staff was incredibly attentive and definitely made our visit feel special. She paid attention to the small details like helping us label our boxes, which I've never had anyone do before. On a completely unrelated note, I was surprised to find the bathrooms are shared between both genders. While there are separate stalls, the sink area is shared, which I wasn't expecting for a nicer restaurant like this. But I would say overall the food was hit or miss but the service and experience overall was amazing:)
