This was the most authentic Korean food we have had in a long time. The food was great and the service friendly.

If it was possible to award more than 5 stars, I would have done so. At first, I was a bit turned off by the lunch time prices but we were there for our 50th wedding anniversary, so I sat quietly. As soon as food began to arrive, I knew that this was going to be something special. The vegetable and noodle appetizers, included in the price, were fantastic. Each was a new, taste sensation for my wife and me. My wife got the Beef & Vegi in a hot stone pot and HOT is was (the pot, not the spice). The dish came with a raw egg in the middle but the pot was so hot, that as soon as you stir it in, it fully cooked. I got the Bulgogi Marinated Sliced Beef. I have never tasted, in any restaurant, a dish that so spectacular. We both left smiling and we will return many times. read more

Had just arrived in Alabama after a road trip looking for a good meal, and boy did I find it this place was amazing! The customer service was friendly , they had a Korean bbq section and then a section for dinning where u had to take your shoes off and sit and eat at the table on the floor, something I've never seen at home(Buffalo) WoW. The food was lip smacking , flavorful , beating ur taste buds at all angles lol . End of the day wish we had this back home but we buffalonians are know for having great cuisine so I know there's a hidden gem out there somewhere! read more

When I saw a Korean restaurant (with a sign in Korean!) in a town this size, I couldn't resist giving them a try. I entered and found myself the only customer, just before closing. I just wanted a snack, so I ordered some quick mandoo (I'd hate to keep the staff longer, just for little old me). They brought me banchan consisting of kimchi, ggakdugi, and kongnamul. All were tasty enough. The ggakdugi had too much ginger for my taste, but that's probably just me. I found the restaurant to be clean and very well lit, and the service to be courteous and friendly. As I expected, the service had a degree of aloofness typical of Korean dining -- they trusted me to take care of myself, and to speak up if I needed anything. I don't think I've had enough experience with this place to go to four stars, but if I had the time for a few more visits, I wouldn't be surprised if I revised to that rating. If fortune somehow finds me in Opelika a second time, I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. read more

So, apparently most of the reviews are bad for this place because the staff speaks predominantly Korean. I came here because I was waiting for an oil change at Opelika Ford and walked across the street to check out the plaza and kill time. I actually went to Korea once for a week and know a few basic Korean phrases, so I was excited to see what looked like a legit Korean restaurant in the middle of nowhere in Alabama. If you're expecting the typical American restaurant service, this does not have it. In Korea, you have to get the staff's attention if you want anything, and the water is normally self-serve. This place felt very authentic in that way. My four stars is based on the food. We got the yaki mandu and spicy squid and pork belly. Both were very good - mandu was fried until slightly crunchy on outside, was moist and flavorful. Spicy squid and pork belly was the legitimately spicy (runny noses were had) but delicious and perfectly cooked. Yes, the staff won't come by your table to check on things, and you should just go up to the front when you need to pay, but that's really a cultural thing so it doesn't bother me. Even one star is too much for them. Dirty unkind worst Korean resturant. I went for dinner, the waitress lead us to the coner inside. The floor seems not wiped for several days, it was sticky. She took the order serve the dishes, and never appeared again. We just finished our meal and went to the account to check out. Guess what she added 15% tips by herself. LOL... This place is honestly great. Their food is authentic, though they tend to serve dishes that Americans would like and appreciate. Their English is great, unlike some of the bigoted reviews. Being that I have been in huge cities (Bigger than Atlanta), this restaurant far exceeds the service you would get in a large city. If you are not accustomed to Korean service then it may be off putting to you and you may want to do our research before going to an authentic Korean restaurant. We were amazed at this restaurant. We stopped for lunch and were lucky that we arrived early. The place totally filled up within a half an hour of our arrival. All the patrons appeared to be Korean. We were the only Occidentals in the restaurant. The waitress was wonderful in helping us select from the Korean foods. Service as fast, the food was wonderful and we are sure it was authentic Korean.
