This was not a helpful transaction and it caused more trouble than if we had just gone next business day to the Post Office. We tried this spot based on its weekend hours, location and how there never seems to be anyone in here - no line ups. Giving an additional star as the weekend gal was sweet but needs further training beyond perhaps just selling a book of US stamps. We had one small box to send to Canada. I asked for a customs form as one has to write contents of package along with values of each re International mail. She had no clue. She ended up calling the owner at home for advice. Geez. Really? I was asked to write each item from box and value on a receipt/paper. No form. What? Then apparently, the owner would type it up and print it for our package next day and THEN I would get a tracking #? They know what to do, right? This is a legit business? I left trying to feel confident that the box would make it to it's destination but I had an uneasy feeling after we paid the fee and said bye to our box. Sure enough, next day, owner/manager called stating we owed another $50 to send the box. Hubby had to leave work, pick up box, get a cash refund and went to the Camino Media Post Office where they actually know what they are doing. They charged us appropriately, and mailed off our package with proper forms. read more

On December 21, I went to Goin Postal to send a card certified mail. It was going to Tulare. 64 miles north of Bakersfield. The clerk was preoccupied with trying to send "medicine" to Iran for a "Doctor". I paid over $9.00 postage, got my receipt and left. I tracked my parcel until it came back New Years Eve, $7.15 postage due. I called Goin Postal and they said they would "make it right ". But they can't. There was a Christmas card and two gift cards in that parcel. One for WinCo for my nieces and her 5 children's Christmas dinner. And a gift card for Christmas gifts for the children. This place use to be my go to spot. Quick and convenient. But recently they've started charging $1 per box being dropped off for UPS! I'm not talking about an additional service fee for labels they are making and printing out, I'm talking about prepaid labels you put on the box yourself at home. No it's not a a lot of money but it's certainly irritating when no other mail place does this. It isn't a great way to treat their loyal customers who have given them a lot of business. read more
