Gokazoku Ramen is a good friendly place to eat in the Tracy mall food court. The staff were super friendly and happy to take our orders. They were also very helpful and informative when taking our orders. Food was very fast to come out maybe about a 5 min wait on a Saturday afternoon. When the food arrived we ordered the chicken karaage as an appetizer. It was okay the chicken didn't have that much flavor and the texture was a lot like calamari other than that the sauce it came with was very delicious and they give great portions. Now for the Ramen we got the chicken paitan ramen, it was super hot and fresh which is a plus. The noodles were delicious and tasted fresh really nice texture. The broth was okay it wasn't creamy like how most paitan ramen is, and I asked for it spicy well there wasn't really any spice to it. The egg and other little things were delicious and had a great presentation. The atmosphere was nice, the Tracy mall is very dead but I didn't mind to eat my ramen and soak in the liminal feeling of the mall. There was also this cotton candy machine in the food court that played this roblox obby music which was nice to listen to while I slurped up my ramen. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. First of all, the takoyaki were very cold at the center. As if they had been previously frozen and then not fully cooked. Not an enjoyable experience eating them at all. The tonkotsu ramen was just ok. Broth was lacking a depth of flavor. The pork was very tender, but also not very flavorful. Decent bowl of ramen, we had the tonkatsu and the tan tan men ramen. I think if they could ease up on the oil and find a way to make the flavors pop out more in their broth, this could easily be an amazing ramen spot. The broth was pretty bland and very oily at the surface. I'd give the broth 3 star rating. The additional star goes towards other aspects of the ramen and service! You can tell they put love into making their homemade noodles, great texture. I also loved the chashu as well. Found this amazing ramen spot at the Tracy farmers market (they are also at Mountain house Farmers markets on Sundays!) and was not disappointed... so good I had to go back and get ramen on a hot day!! There's something for everyone with three delicious broth flavors: Tonkatsu TanTanMen (spicy) Miso They also serve rice bowls such as chicken teriyaki, chicken karaage, and Gyudon beef! Everything I've tried from them has been super delicious with fresh ingredients and amazing authentic flavors. The owners are so friendly, courteous and have wonderful customer service! Food was absolutely delicious and even though it's located in the mall food court, the presentation and taste did not disappoint. Here is the reason why I give this review only 1 star. I've tried a lot of ramen places all over the bay area and when I'm in Japan, this place have got to be one of the worst. I have no idea how this place have high review and got good service in the first place. 1. The broth was so bland and lack luster, for a tonkutsu with a description of black garlic oil, you don't see or smell any black garlic oil at all. You cannot taste the umami flavor from the pork bone broth, that is the most important thing in a tonkutsu ramen. The noodle itself was soggy too. If you buy the instant Tonkutsu at costco it would taste more umami than this one. 2. The place is big enough for the staff, but one of the staff keep walking behind the other staff and brushing the behind or her other sides, I was standing and waiting for my food and he did it like 3 times within the time frame of less than 10 minutes. I don't want extra bacteria in my food. 3. The service- The guy that ring me up feel like he is being force to go to work. He remember to ask me to answer the tipping question though, even though my order was togo. They charged you extra for using credit card but did not inform you or have any signs that say they will charge a fee ($1.28). Most places will have sign that says if you spend less than a certain amount they will charge, this place did not inform the customers or put up any signs, my whole bill was over $31 and yet I still get charge, when I asked the cashier he said he doesn't know and that he cannot undo it for me if I want to void the transaction and pay cash. Don't waste your money and try a different place. read more

Great customer service. I took my 12 year old son to the mall and came across this place. We were immediately greeted with great customer service and very friendly staff. My son and I had the Tonkatsu and the Chicken Gyoza. The gentleman making the Ramen and Gyoza explained how everything was made and was very knowledgeable. First visit, saw them open when I stopped in for a cheese stake to celebrate after the super bowl. Had the tonkatsu and it was very good, tipped it up at the end to get every drop. I haven't tried all of their dishes. This is just for their ramen. I was very looking forward for a good local ramen spot, so I was waiting for months for this place to open, but the wait was for naught. The soup of the Tonkatsu ramen I had was extremely lackluster, and it is the most important part of the dish. I wouldn't try their ramen again. I have had good ramen elsewhere in CA and in Japan, and this does not compare at all, not even half-way. I'm not sure what other reviewers are tasting (maybe they have not tried good ramen). The bamboo shoots included are tough but tasty, and their char siu slice is decent. read more
