Worst Indian fast food place. I ordered paneer tikka masala and garlic Naan. The curry was not fresh and tasted like it was made couple of days ago,and the Garlic Naan is frozen Deep garlic naan which we get in grocery stores. If i want to eat frozen naan I would eat at home , even the frozen naan sucked ,didn't toast or reheat it properly. I DON'T RECOMMEND IT , PLEASE GO TO HONEST Restaurent right beside it. My mom loves this place because of their Indian sweets. When you walk through the door, you can see the huge display filled with Indian sweets right on the left, followed by Indian snacks. I am not a huge fan of sugar, but my mom is in love with their sweet. Every time we go grocery shopping to Patel Brothers next door, we have to pick up a box of sweets for her to take back home. The sweets are definitely good quality and they last for about 1-2 weeks when you keep them refrigerated. I am not a huge fan of the food at this place, since everything I have tried thus far have been just decent. Nothing special about the food, seems like something you could get from any of the other restaurants next door to this place but their Pani Puri stall is AMAZING!!!!! Whoever had the idea to start up a pani puri stall at Gokul was a genius. You have to pay up front to order the pani puri's. It's $4 for 6 pani puri's and the lady at check out gives you a receipt you need to give to the lady working the stall. If you can't handle spicy, may be you shouldn't try it but if you have a love for spicy food, you should definitely go for multiple pani puri plate. I never get tired of them. The stall lady gives you a little paper plate and serves them one by one so you have to make sure you eat them fast. I usually get a soda with the pani puri to wash it down quickly. It's definitely the best pani puri I had in the country, it kind of reminds of the pani puri's we get back home. If you're ever around the area, you should definitely stop by Gokul and try out the pani puri from the stall, it's definitely a fun experience. read more

We had an incredibly disappointing experience. When we first went up to the counter to order, the person who was taking our order wasn't even properly listening to us, and was in fact ignoring us and talking to another person. We had to repeat items we wanted 5 times for him to finally realize we wanted to order that. When we sat down, that's when most problems occurred. After an hour and a half of waiting, of the 7 or 8 items that we ordered, we only received some of them. Only Manchurian and Sandwich, which weren't anything that special. When we went back up to the counter to find out how much longer our food will take, the person at the counter told us that the chef wasn't even in! We were still fine with that, and waited and waited. and then proceeded to wait even more. When my aunt and mom went up to the counter for the 3rd time, the person who was taking our order FINALLY told us that the items that we ordered weren't even written down! And proceeded to then blame it on us, saying that we were talking amongst ourselves and not even ordering, when that wasn't the case. You're really going to make a customer wait for almost 2 hours for food, and then accuse us of not knowing how to order? We finally decided to pack the 2 dishes that we got and left, leaving one of the younger girls with us hungry. Thanks, Gokul! read more

This place is sketchy, cunning, and deceiving when it come to prices, customer service and food. I ordered samosa chat and falooda drink. and costed me $10 bucks and it should normally be around $ 6 to 7 bucks in a decent Indian fast food place and you don't get see the prices unless you grab the laminated menu which does not have all menu items. After a long wait for 30 min for what it takes 5 min to prep my order. I have to ask the cashier to bag my food that been sitting on the counter. By then the icecream in falooda had melted and became watery. The samosa is just bad, greasy, no flavor and had a musty smell all over from the oil it is fried in. who know how long they have been frying in the same oil?. Amazing! Both Gokul locations are wonderful. This is your place for the best Indian snacks. Go for the snacks, especially the Bhel Puri, Dosas, and Chole Bhatura. I also love their Hakka noodles and Karachi Chat. I have been to this location and the other location on so many occasions that I can't keep count. Their Falooda is so damn good, but it will give you Type II Diabetes especially in conjunction with the carb overload from the snack foods and sweets. I recommend that you have Falooda and nothing else. Their sweets are decadent and picture worthy. They offer pretty boxes for your sweets upon request. I don't have a sweet tooth, so I gravitate towards the less sweet options at the bakery counter, such as the Anjeer Khatoori. A bonanza of Indian sweets and street food. Best to go during Diwali time. At least 15-20 types of bardo/ milk solids. I like badam barfi and pistachio one. Last time I took my friend Rosemarie to eat. We had bhindi, alloo mattar and paratha. I am fond of their fresh green chilliest pickle! It's one to pack boxes for Diwali here to do puja with seven types of sweets and gift boxes! It reminds me of Diwali's celebrated in India. But please exercise caution while tasting sweets here, remember that too indulge in a sweet tooth all the time is injurious to health! read more

I am ONLY reviewing the sweets, NOT the savory food (ie curries, samosas). Gokul's sweets are by far some of the best I have ever had. You can mix and match them too and buy by the pound. Their selection is unbeatable and the taste is out of this world. I wish I remembered the names of some of my favorites and I would tell them, but just try a little bit of this and a little bit of that- you'll find your own. I like the white sweet circle shaped ones topped with savory cream and cherry- they are my go-to each and every time. I never really gave this place a fair shot, but I came here recently with family & tried a few classic chaat dishes like pahi sev puri & papri chaat. The dahi sev puri was the better choice and I enjoyed it. The papri chaat was a bit stale which was a huge let down. The mango lassi however was the star of the show. For $3, you get a large serving of pure bliss. My little brother loved it so much that we ordered him a second serving of it. I haven't tried anything from their large display of sweets, but I really want to try their falooda sometime. Overall, ordering & service was fine. The wait wasn't long & the staff was friendly. Seating is fairly spacious with large booths to accommodate average families. Water & utensils are self service. It's not my favorite place for chaat, but it's still a good value. Gokul sweets is probably the best Desi place that I have gone to in Atlanta. Their pineapple strawberry just is just splendid fresh and great taste. The pista faluda outstanding. You need to try their cold pan if you ask the guy he will tell you it has more taste and trust me he was not lying. Overall the atmosphere is energetic and all the workers are so polite. Very disappointed. The masala dosa and idli were completely INSIPID. The Delhi chat was decent. The tea was terrible- it had been boiling for hours! The Pistachio Kulfi was also a joke- just green in color and not even a hint of postage flavor. Overall experience was BAD. read more

This is their second location and it isn't as good as their first one. The seating is so uncomfortable, I felt like I was sitting with everyone else in the restaurant. The food isn't as flavorful either. My signature favorite, their fried rice, was a big miss at this location but is ALWAYS awesome at the other location. The quantity was also about half of the other location. I am NOT knocking Gokul, this place is the spot if you crave Indian food, but this new location wasn't impressive.
