From our initial meeting, Jorge was incredibly welcoming and genuinely eager to help. My partner showed him photos of design ideas for resizing and updating the ring, and Jorge gave honest, thoughtful feedback about what would ultimately look best while still preserving the original character of the piece. I emphasized my desire to make minimal changes in order to maintain its sentimental value, and Jorge completely understood that. The ring was ready within a week. When we picked it up, Jorge wasn't there, but Steven helped us and was just as wonderful. Even though Jorge was the one we had initially spoken with, Steven knew every detail of the changes that were made and explained the design choices and care instructions thoroughly. It really showed how much care and communication goes into their work as a family business. While we were there, I also brought in several pieces of jewelry I was considering selling. Instead of trying to buy them on the spot, Steven gave me honest advice on the best way to sell them in order to get the most value. I really appreciated that -- at no point did either Jorge or Steven try to simply win our business. They genuinely seemed focused on helping us make the best decisions. In the end, the ring turned out exactly how we envisioned it. It's beautiful, meaningful, and something I'll cherish forever. They also told us we could bring the ring back for cleaning, which we really appreciated. The owner was impatient, and treated me like I was wasting his time. While I didn't get to transact monetarily, my experience was similar here to the first few times I went into some of the gun shops that have gone out of business today. I hold the position that it is absolutely reasonable to have a opinion on the business, if the owner isn't willing to spend the time with you to figure out if you're even a qualified customer, and blows you off and hangs up the phone, treating you as unimportant. I'm sure that Vic will see this and have something to say about it, but all I can tell you and response, is that if you want to have a good pipeline of business, you have to treat people as if they are going to be a potential valued customer for you until you learn that they are not. Vic's did not afford me that opportunity, and deserves this review. They responded very quickly to my dm and helped me make an appointment, answered any questions I had, and added me to a text chat where I could send in some ring inspos and what styles I was looking for. We came a bit early, but they were able to accommodate us. We were guided to a table reserved especially for us and were offered champagne or sparkling juices/water and some cookies as snacks. Our jeweler, Lyn, was very easy to talk to and she made us feel very comfortable during the entire appointment. We told her that we didn't have much knowledge about picking out a ring and what to look for, but she was able to help us through the entire process and guide us through all of those steps. We had a ring design in mind already and we showed her the photo and she was able to show me the similar setting, diamond shape, and carat size, against my finger. We tried on different band widths to see which one I liked better, went over the 4 C's (color, clarity, cut, and carat weight), and explained to us what they meant. She showed us different diamonds in different carat sizes and the differences in clarity grade between them. My bf and I really learned a lot during our consultation and are very glad we booked an in person consultation with Hung Phat. The guy over there told me it can be fixed, but first, they need to see it. He also told me it can be fixed either the same day or in 2 or 3 days depending upon the size of the damage. When I went there, the lady at the counter was so kind, she heard me patiently and called the other guy to fix my earring while taking all the precautions. It got fixed during the same visit.
