I bought a Citizen EcoDrive titanium watch from them (it charges with solar). they had to know the battery wouldn't charge because the watch only ran under the bright lights of the display, but they sold it as a good, working watch. Once i got it home, it was dead. i had to send it off to Citizen to get the battery replaced, which was not cheap. read more

worst place ever!!! they "lost" my $3,500 rare wedding ring. im pretty sure they were trying to steal it....it gave me anxiety bad!! i cried for days..they finally "found" it after severl attempts that lead into the next day. they gave ne a refund for the inconvenience then told me i had to pay again!! wtf!!! also was told they only care about their reputation but nit the customer and it showed. i started making a police report. they were extremely rude to me, tried to guilt trip and mind f..k me!!! im completely against taking my jewelry to a pawn shop in the first place but i needed gas and came back for it 3 days later!!!! this place is crooked!!! read more

I walked in this morning like any other person looking to get some cash for a Laptop/tablet I had.. after waiting a few minutes a lady came out from the behind the counter asked very rudely what I wanted.. not a "Good Morning" or a "'How can I help you" basically if I had to interpret the look on her face when she saw me it was a F*** off.. when I told her I wanted to see how much I could get for my laptop.. all she said was " we aren't taking any at this time " .. and that's fine but at least she shouldn't of been a b**** about it.. she was a down to the bone racist.. you could tell just by the way she acted toward me. I've been dealing with them since I first moved to Bakersfield in 2012 & not once have I been disappointing with doing business with rosedale pawn. Their 3x better than the pawn shops in downtown, never tried to rip me off, always gave me what I asked for with no complaint & even stayed open a couple extra minutes for me one time because I came around closing time & since they recognized me as usual customer & seen I was really in a money needing situation they let me come in still knowing it was already closing time. I literally drive from fairfax and niles to do my business with these guys because I know their that good. As I walked in and saw all the tools to my left, drills and gadgets I thought of my father. He would have loved this place and would have been in heaven to tinker around all the odds and ends. This is a great place to go browse and find some treasures, new and old. I was looking for something specific and found it at a reasonable price. Day to day, things change as far as stock here and people come from the east side to shop at this particular pawn shop for whatever reason. Staff were personable but also left you alone to browse. Tons of bar stuff, sports stuff, Hot Wheels cars, costume jewelry, saddles, knives in the glass cases. Nothing dirty or too junky. It felt like a big garage sale with that flea market feel. I will return one day just out of curiosity. Pawn shops get a bad rap and I understand in part why. However in modern times, I feel they are monitored better and have to play by the strict rules and guidelines set out for them. read more

A few years ago I came to this shop to determine their ethics. I was wearing a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust I had purchased New from a store in Orange County in 1983. I overheard one woman say that the watch was a fake. She tried to pry the case open not knowing that Rolex serial numbers can only be read by removing the band. Evidently she thought it was a battery powered fake with no knowledge of the genuine item. read more

They will negotiate on prices when purchasing and don't have items marked considerably higher than what you can buy it for new. I went to this store to purchase a set of power tools that I saw in their ad online. I really like those tools. So for me to get it, I went there first thing in the morning before they even open the store. When I got there, there was already a car parked in front of the store ahead of me. The moment they open up the store I got out from my car and went inside and at the same time the person from the other car went in also with me. The other person went straight to the left and I went to the right. I found the tools that I want right away and went straight to the cashier to pay but the other person that went in with me saw the tools that I was holding and he immediately told me, hey, that's mine I came here first and I should be the right one to buy it. I said what is your problem I found it and got it first. There's no rules that who ever get here first should be the one to pick what ever they wanted. But the cashier person sided to him and told me he will check the cctv footage who came there first. I admitted that the other person arrived at the store ahead of me but the store was still close then. But the cashier insisted that since the other person arrived first so he should be the right one to buy the tools. But I refused to let it go because it's wrong and unfair. But there was an old white lady that work there also present that time and yelled at me, telling me to give it to the other person. And she said if I won't give it to the other person I can't buy it anyway because they won't sell it to me. There were 4 people inside the store, me, the other buyer(a white guy), the cashier a white guy, and the old lady that also work there is also white. So, sad to say I didn't get the tools but when i was about to leave the store I told them you're all racist. And the other person/customer and the old lady both yelled back at me that to go away and leave. I will never go back to that store again. Racism will not go away forever. read more

I bought a "NEW" Garmin Oregon 600 from this pawnshop on eBay for $321. Maps could not be downloaded to the device, rendering it useless. After several days of troubleshooting by Garmin, the device was found to be defective & had to be returned to Garmin Int'l. I contacted the pawn shop, they refused to refund or replace the device. Their website states "Customer Satisfaction Is Our Top Priority". Their only priority is stealing your money & selling you defective merchandise. read more
