When we arrived, she noticed the birthday song playing on the overhead but thought nothing of it as she handed over her ring to Eason for cleaning and inspection. When Eason returned a few minutes later my wife took a second glance at her stone and noticed it was significantly bigger than it used to be. This double take was a fun and memorable way to mark her milestone birthday and the whole team came out to congratulate her and wish her well. My wife is a hardworking, humble woman. I have an opal ring that has sentimental value to me. Last year I took it in to Rogers Jewelers to see what it would take to fix it, as it has an opal in the middle and little (I mean LITTLE) diamonds around it and a couple of the diamonds were missing. They not only fixed with it (with the BEST customer service ever), but when it was sent back to them "fixed" they sent it back as they were not happy with the results. My husband recently purchased a new diamond for my wedding ring as an anniversary gift. Our local jeweler said there was no way he could accommodate the new diamond in my existing wedding ring. My husband took the ring to Rogers and spoke with Tim. He had the jeweler look at it. He said he could reconstruct the ring to replace the existing halo with the new larger diamond. We started in Visalia and with that store closing moved to the Bakersfield store because the staff that we worked with went there. Tim Rico has been a major help, as has ALL the Bakersfield staff with us shifting our business down this way. I mean down because we now drive south. The Bakersfield Rogers Jewlery is where my husband bought a Seiko watch he had seen in an ad that the store was able to find and hold for us until we could make our way down to pick it up. Just received the most AMAZING service from Tim. My 90 year old father bought a watch from a big box store and they do not adjust the watch band there. Stopped by here to see if I could get a few of the links removed but left my dad in the car because he is quite frail and I did not want to expose him to the heat, especially if they were unable to help me. Tim came out to the parking lot himself, allowing my dad to remain in the air conditioned car, and sized my dad's watch for him. He then took it inside and adjusted the band himself!! UPDATE: took the ring to Rocos on Rosedale and they are repairing for $65 Rogers is a rip off. I've bought several pieces from ROGERS over the years and have usually had good service with them. Recently I brought an opal ring and it was missing a prong and one tiny diamond. In my experience with repairs ROGERS has always repaired my stuff for free or a very small charge. This time they want nearly $200 and the staff was completely dry. The prices are exorbitantly high anyway and there's no reason for me to ever go back. read more

Where to begin? Rogers Jewelry is impersonal, over priced, and will damage your personal property. We brought in three items to Rogers. First, my wedding ring to be looked at because it's been 10 years since we bought it and I wanted to make sure the prongs weren't loose and everything holding the diamonds in were in good shape. Second, my late mother's ring that is incredibly sentimental to me. The middle stone had fallen out and I wanted it put back in. I was aware that it was misshapen due it being sterling silver and because she wore it every single day but I didn't want that altered because I wear it on a chain and the whole sentimental thing. And third, my husband's very nice watch to be resized and put on a brand new metal band we provided. Let's start with their customer service. The woman who helped us, Ryan was disrespectful. She took my late mother's ring and kept widening her eyes at the bent band and practically rolled her eyes when I said it was sterling silver. I explained that it was sentimental to me and that I wear it on a chain so the band didn't need to be fixed, I just wanted the stone put back in. She sighed heavily and explained that because it's sterling silver there's a chance that they can't do anything for me. She asked me several times if I was sure I didn't want it fixed because "it's like REALLY bent". She put both of my rings in the back because their jewelry repair person wasn't in yet. She told my they would call by 5pm with a quote (they closed at 6pm). She moved onto my husbands watch. She was in the back for no exaggeration forty-five minutes to an hour working on this dang band. In the process she managed to scratch up the screws and gouge the watch and the band. We had two small kids with us and after spending all morning in the store we just wanted out and didn't look it over closely because we really really wanted to leave. We didn't notice the damage until that night. At that point, we felt it would be worthless to bring it up but still weeks later it still bothers my husband and I'm kicking myself for not speaking up right when we noticed. When a store employee damages an item they're working on they should be honest and forthcoming but she was not. So, 5pm comes and goes. It's getting closer to closing time so I decide to give them a call. Someone hands Ryan the phone and she says "Oh yeah I was just going to call you!" (sure). She then quotes me $800 to fix my wedding ring because apparently every single diamond was on the verge of falling out and they needed to replace every tip and prong. She also said "Oh and we can't fix your grandma's ring because it's just sterling silver." ...it was my mother's ring not my grandmother's ring which I stated several times in the hours we were there that day. As if I needed more proof that she didn't pay any attention to what I was telling her, and honestly after the work they did on the watch I didn't want them touching my rings so we picked them up that night. I took both rings to American Jewelry Co and they WERE able to fix my mothers sterling silver ring. They didn't sigh or roll their eyes at the bent band, and they fixed the loose prong on my wedding band for $60. For obvious reasons, we will not be back. I only wish I would have learned the lesson without sacrificing my husband's watch and two hours of my life in the process. I'm uploading photos of the hack job Ryan did to the watch and the band. I brought a new high end watch elsewhere and didn't have the tools needed to resize the watch band. I took it in rodgers to get it resized and was quote $10 for the service and I was okay with that. A lady helped me out and she took to their watch station and began working on it. Moments later she brings back the watch and I notice she damaged the screws that are holding the watch band together. I told her the screw are damages and her response was "would you like to to replace it with screw that are in the extra link?" She did do that and left the 4 damaged screw with the link that was removed from resizing. Never did she bother to apologize and zero remorse for damaging my watch band. She had another guy associate come out to me and finish the transaction. WOW! a free adjustment, isn't that so DUCKING thoughtful. Avoid this store and go elsewhere! read more

I came in to change the batteries on my Tissot watches since they had been purchased here and then I saw something that shook my nerdy and geek watch world... the amount of Seiko watches that they had here! You're probably thinking, they're just Seikos, but no... these are the higher end Presage and Prospex watches. I absolutely freaked out because I am a HUGE Seiko nerd and THESE are the watches that enthusiasts actually seek! I couldn't believe that they had a huge variety of pieces that are nearly impossible to find anywhere at a regular jewelry shop... and in Bakersfield! The assistant manager, Josh Stone was also so friendly and super knowledgeable about the watches they had in stock. He also informed me that there are only 5 Authorized Seiko Prospex dealers in the entire country, so I was fortunate to be at one! I almost purchased a Prospex, but ultimately decided to buy it later for my birthday in a few months. Josh even offered me a discount and made it even more enticing! He definitely was good company while my watch batteries were being fixed. He ended up not even charging me because we had such a good rapport and knew that I was there for the watches and knew how under appreciated Seikos are, but knew that their inventory was beyond amazing! I definitely will be coming back here and buying my next Seiko Prospex or Presage watch! If you are a Seikoholic like me, you will go crazy here! Greedy and rude As one of the few fortunate enough to not be financially impacted by the pandemic, I try to funnel any of my purchases through our local businesses to help support the community. I know that it will cost me slightly more than I could easily find online or outside of Bakersfield, and I can live with that, especially in times like these. However, this store has been a rip-off before the pandemic and continues to be so during. As an authorized dealer of particular brands, they get substantial discounts on products and funnel none of those savings to their customers. Instead, they charge more than what you can purchase the item from the manufacturer directly. When working with authorized dealers other than this store, I can easily get ~22% discount from MSRP on this brand. I was not expecting Roger's to do this, but I know I can get this deal. The item I was looking to purchase was a few hundred, not few thousand, so I was willing to pay MSRP but was hoping for below. However, this store offered me a price higher than MSRP even after I had already told them I called the manufacturer before coming in, so I know what I would pay if ordering directly. I responded by thanking them for their time, but I would be purchasing direct. Before I could even finish my sentence, the sales representative had already turned around and walked off. The store was empty, so there was no other person that they needed to rush to assist. This was my second attempt at trying to offer my business to them. Last year when interested in an item of much higher value, I asked Roger's to match a deal another Authorized dealer has presented to keep my business local. They weren't willing to do so. So, I bought the item at the discounted 22% mentioned earlier from another store and went on my way. Anyone shopping here is clearly getting ripped off. read more
