These guys are great! I highly recommend them to anyone who has a fireplace. Very knowledgeable, friendly and honest service. My house was getting smokey the last few times I had fires, I thought it was because the chimney was full of soot. Steve came over and checked it out-said it was clean-gave me some tips on how to avoid the smoke and made some safety upgrades. Steve came to me through my homeowner's association as I was having a problem with birds coming into my chimney. I was more than pleasantly surprised by him! He called me first to set up a time to come to the house (versus waiting for me to contact him). He had already looked at my chimney on Google maps to see the accessiblilty. The day before our appointment he called to confirm. When he came to our complex, he found guest parking on his own (I know this seems silly, but most service trucks park in the closest spots which are reserved for tenents). He was also 10 minutes early, for an 8am appointment! This never seems to happen. When he came in, he laid down a tarp to keep my house clean. He did his work quickly and efficiently, returned my furniture to it's original location, and left the area cleaner than when he came. He also cleaned out the fire glass which had a lot of soot in it from when the birds came down. The things I had done were putting a screen over the top of my chimney to keep the birds out as well as sweep the chimney. I'm not sure if I just get unprofessional service people all the time, but Steve exceeded my expectations in every way. Great response from Steve after my call. We had to reschedule due to predicted rain; Steve called back 2 days later and reported that he had a cancellation so we were able to proceed with my chimney cleaning before the rain came. Mathew did an excellent job of cleaning my wood burning stove chimney making sure to drape off everything and leaving a thoroughly clean area. The price was very reasonable and Mathew even replaced the spark arrestor from my brick chimney that had been dislodged by some wind earlier in the season. The job I needed was to have a Spark Arrestor installed and it was a special size, so the metal cap needed to be custom made. Matthew, the owner of Gold Coast Chimney could not have been nicer. He arrived on time, wearing a mask and he was able to take care of my rusting chimney cap right away. He had a stainless steel chimney cap with him since I had explained my issue on the phone prior and when he noticed that part of the stack or whatever that part coming out of the mobile home is was rusted around the top which connects to the cap, he took it upon himself to come down off the roof and tell me he was going cut back the rusted part; that it was plenty tall enough to lose a few inches or so and then put the new cap on. He then checked my gas fireplace and told me it was good. My neighbor had an issue with her dryer vent and he went over and checked it out, and her fireplace, and did not charge her at all. He was honest, helpful, courteous and told me his business is a family business, from brothers to brothers. I really like Matthew and he was very reasonable. I will recommend to everyone! read more

Gold Coast Chimney Sweep ROCKS! From the minute they walked into the house they were polite and helpful. They made sure everything was either covered or moved so they wouldn't get it dirty and when they looked at our chimney and realized it didn't really need a cleaning...just a couple minor things. They checked it out completely and added the chimney hood and made some recommendations for the future...no hard selling! They explained everything BEFORE they worked on it. They were very quick and quite reasonable in price. They could have charged me a lot more, because I wouldn't know the difference, but they didn't. Just what they actually worked on. I'm so glad to have found Stephen and Matt for our chimney work. They are excellent; prompt, very thorough, and reasonably priced. They also replaced the gas line in our fireplace, for 75% less than we were quoted by another service, and they did a great job. While cleaning our dryer vent, Stephen detected a crack in the dryer gas line and advised me on what to do to get it fixed (he shut it off in the meantime).
