David was amazing!! he was honest with me about our system, I have not serviced our HVAC unit in 10 years and I just wanted a tune up and any cleaning it needed. He was surprised how clean our system was and that it was still running in tip top shape. I asked him if it needed any cleaning and he said it was still clean and did not need to be cleaned. He did not try to upsell me on any additional services. He did replace the capacitor at no additional costs to keep the unit running at full capacity. They charged me $130 to do a HVAC tune up and I'm glad I chose Anacapa. He also cleaned the outside fan unit to keep the coils clean. Before Anacapa came out, I had an Air Duct company come out a couple days before to look at my ducts to see if they needed cleaning. But they did not see anything bad that needed cleaning, so I wanted to wait for Anacapa to service my HVAC unit and get their opinion my air ducts at the same time. David looked at the ducts and said they do not need cleaning and a huge part of that is because I change my HVAC air filter every few months to keep dirt and dust out of the system. I made an appointment for a technician. They said the day and between 8 and 12. I waited and finally called to check status. " The lady didn't book you." They apologized and I told them I was 78 years old and the air conditioner was urgent again. Then they said tomorrow afternoon. The technician showed up in the morning. Charging $109.00 said some boards were fried. It was agreed to get pricing. Haven't heard from them in almost 3 weeks. Elderly abuse. At least get back to me. read more

So, we had a tech out. He told us our AC unit needed replacing, but then he had to have another employee come give us a quote for the replacement unit. I had to wait around for the second guy to come. He then quoted me 18k-22k to replace the unit & I had to pay $126 for the assessment. Unfortunately I am not a satisfied customer anymore. I rarely if ever leave poor reviews but this needs to be said. I used Anacapa to service my AC unit for a few years until 2023. I trusted them and for the most part they were reliable. The problem came this past summer when my AC unit wasn't working properly. They came out (charged a $100 dispatch fee) checked it and said it was probably coolant leak and offered to fix it with a liquid sealant. The repair cost was $1100 ..ugh not what I expected to pay but it was hot and we did it. The AC worked for a few days, maybe a week and then the AC was down again! I called and explained to them that the AC broke again and asked if their work had a warranty and they said NO not for this. I told them we are down $1200 at this point and what can they do for me. They offered to come out again for another $100 dispatch fee now we're looking at $1300... Anacapa comes back to my house and tells me that they can conduct a test that could detect the exact location of the leak and this test was about $300. So this would put my costs to about $1600!!! Now I am upset why wasn't the test offered to me in the first place!? Instead I've wasted $1200 on a sealant that did nothing and now they wanted $300 more! I asked why wasn't the test offered to us in the first place and the tech explained it was their "protocol" to do it this way. WOW!!! Talk about shady!! Now I can't trust nor recommend this company. They could have offered to test my unit for the leak before having me waste $1200 and then ask for $300 more!! I could have put that money towards a new unit or another honest company. They could have had a life long customer and business with me but when they pull stuff like this I can't recommend them. read more

Kevin came to my home today, at the recommendation of a friend. I had had another HVAC company come to my home, evaluate my HVAC system, and scare me into believing that I needed a complete replacement, of the entire system. Their estimate was for over $25,000 dollars. I had just purchased my home, and had had an inspector check my HVAC system, which he deemed to be in good working order. So, I was shocked, when the other company informed me that my HVAC system was defective and unsafe. After Kevin checked out my entire HVAC system, his recommendation was for a regular maintenance service. He assured me that my HVAC system was in good working order, and that it should be working well, for the next 5-10 years. For cleaning air ducts out. They were significantly cheaper than two competitors I called. My main issue is how well the job was done. Since we didn't have to leave while they worked, I saw them in action. I just had to leave Anacapa Heating a review. Brian & Roy installed a new heater on Friday. Because our house is very old, it was having some problems drawing cool air in. Brian, Roy & Troy them came back out on Saturday morning to troubleshoot it. They put in another vent & while it was ok it still wasn't right.. They came out this morning & spent most of the day fixing it. It now works awesome. Brian & Roy are awesome workers & I have to commend them on their work.. Very polite & nice. Our air conditioning was due for service. The technician showed up not prepared with the proper filters to do a proper service. He went through the motions to do his job. Replaced one filter improperly. When I asked him to return to fix it because of a loud rattle ( like a lawn mower) he stated he had installed the filter properly and said when he returned he would replace the second filter at a later date. I asked him again to stop by and fix his mistake and he in capital letter states I DID IT CORRECTLY! No time for rude and poorly prepared people! I was only available for certain days of that specific week because of the drive i had to make up to Carp. from LA. When the day finally came around for the set appointment i waited all day. He was extremely thorough and explained all the steps he was taking to try to diagnose the problem with our AC Unit. He answered all our questions and concerns. The problem part was replaced and luckily was still under warranty, so we were only charged for labor. This was such a good experience and I have full confidence in Anacapa Heating and Air, they are honest and provide peace of mind, which is important when your AC goes out and you don't know what to expect. Our unit stopped working and called Anacapa. They sent out Tony and he was fantastic, he kept us informed as to what he was going to do and what he found as the problem. Unfortunately it was late Friday and unable to get parts. He was out Monday morning and repaired the unit and even showed the bad part and explained everything. He went well above what others have in his explanations and he made sure that we understood and not just saying things. I do not know how people are rated this company high on stars! They had been fixed my A/C for more than 2 weeks. Two technicians reported that nothing wrong with the unit but the room temperature never go down below 83F since they left. Their problem was never stay long enough to see if the problem was fixed. We paid a yearly maintenance to service the unit every 4 month, but the last one was 1 month behind and I had to remind them. I think that is why my A/C is not working properly. Time to look for a better A/C service company. read more
