They went above and beyond to take care of the problem. I've heard nightmare stories about other companies in the area that will install something and if there is a problem, you are on your own. I see a 1-star review from someone who was frustrated with lack of customer service. I was frustrated with this too. The AI phone interface can be frustrating, but there are good people working there who are trying to do the right thing. It just might take a little bit of patience to get the right person on the other end of the phone. I do know that they are addressing this problem. Julian is my plumber and Sam is my HVAC guy and when they come to the house it's like having old friends visit. At the end of the day, that's what keeps me coming back to them. On the day of the appointment, I received a call from the technician to let me know when he would be arriving. Upon arrival he provided me with a quote and I gave approval to go ahead with the work. This is when I learned that he was not from Christopher's Air Duct & Dryer Vent cleaing but from a company called Genie Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning LLC. I had checked reviews for Christopher's Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning but there was no mention that they farmed the work out to other companies nor did they tell me this when I booked my appointment. At this point I really had not choice but to let him proceed; otherwise, I would pay $49.99 for him coming out to just provide the quote. He proceeded to only clean out the vent from the outside. He never checked the ducting from the dryer to the connection in the celing to ensure it was not blocked. When he completed his work, he informed me that I could only pay either by cash, venmo or check. I could not use my debit card. After he had left I discovered that he had not resecured the vent covering outside and that he had not cleaned up any the the lint he had removed from the vent line. Two weeks ago our former service company inspected our system, noted it was old, gave it the all clear and suggested we replace the capacitor before next summer. Well, our a/c stopped cooling this morning. Our preferred vendor told me the earliest they could come out would be 9/9 (yes, with a service contract). I told them we have guests coming this weekend (some elderly) and we needed working a/c in 100 degree heat. Nothing. I told them I was calling every HVAC company in the Conejo Valley and nine days was too long. The third call I made was to Aladdin Air Conditioning & Heating. I described the issue. There was a sense of urgency here. I was on hold for a minute and then told a 2-5pm slot is available today. Nathan, the service tech arrived, diagnosed the issue, and found there were two capacitors and one was not needed according to spec. He replaced the capacitor, had our a/c functioning, and left our home two hours and forty-five minutes after my first call. From now on I will call Aladdin for any HVAC service needs. The woman handling the phones was professional, courteous, perceptive, and expressed feeling for our situation. The service tech, Nathan, was polite, perceptive, professional, communicative, and confident. He was here for approximately 35 minutes, a/c working. I appreciate this level of service. This was my FIRST call to them. They treated me like I had been a client for many years and fixed the issue. No upselling, no games, just straight to business.

$700.00 AN HOUR Yep, a friendly serviceman came, did a basic…read moreair conditioning repair and he did a good job. But, I timed the visit, and it was a few minutes under an hour, and that included everything; the estimate and repair labor. The bill was $ 758.00 for that hour. I talked to the repairman about the cost of parts versus labor and he said they were not separated out. I talked to the business owner later on. He said that of the $758, the parts were about $80....although I found Amazon is cheaper. He did go through his costs with me, stating they were part of the job, but most had nothing to do with the repair but rather, costs of running a large corporation ......costs such as .....employee benefits ......travel time to and from the job ......office management ......payments on his fleet of trucks, my guess ......profit for the owner that the worker never receives. On the other hand, the costs of a self-employed serviceman would be parts and labor only, in his bill, usually $50-$100 an hour plus parts. So, bottom line, it was a simple job with cheap parts which I accepted ....trusting that it would require more time and cost than it actually did. My bad, I should have gotten another estimate, which means a second cost for a second estimate, but in this case I should have paid it. SINCE I KNEW THE REPAIR THAT WAS NEEDED, I SHOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO BARGAIN A BIT LOWER WITH SUBSEQUENT CONTRACTORS... SOMETHING I WILL REMEMBER IN MY FUTURE CONTRACTED JOBS. My view, everything was legal, but the service of a large air conditioning company should be noticeably cheaper or else it offers no benefit to offset the cost. I saw no such benefit. Finally, I would encourage you to talk to the owner, he's pleasant and well spoken. He will have a lot to say.
