Had a great visit today for a temporary crown. Dr. Chen was really gentle and the numbing part was almost painless, which made the whole procedure so much easier. Julio, the dental assistant, was great too, easy to talk to and made the appointment feel relaxed. Between the two of them, they turned what's usually a dreaded procedure into a pretty painless (literally) experience. My 20-year-old daughter came in for the Zoom whitening procedure in the Azusa California office. Through misunderstandings and repeat appointments she was finally able to get the procedure done. As far as five stars is concerned Letty did a tremendous job and has a very friendly voice on the phone and very professional. She is the reason why we chose this establishment and the reason for the five-star rating. As far as the procedure it seemed like they had office help who didn't know how to do the procedure work on my daughter. Her lips got burned as well as her gums from the bleach. They did do four treatments, 15 minutes each, so as you can see from the photo they turned out great. It will take a few days of healing from the bleach on the lips and gums but overall she's very very happy with the results. My recommendation would be for the actual Zoom procedure to have an actual dentist do it. read more

Stay away!!! Me and my family have been coming to Dr. Reyes for years and never had any complaints. Gold Coast dental took over and it all went to hell. I took my teenage daughter for a cleaning last Saturday and from the start, the hygienist kept leaving during her cleaning and her x-rays. He went over to another patient with his gloves on and touched her mouth to show where she needed work then he came back to my daughter and did not change his gloves and went back to work on her. In all, he spent a total of 15 minutes, cleaning her teeth super fast and rough and she was in pain for the rest of the day. To top it all off, they claimed she had three cavities and started giving out pricing. She hasn't had cavities since we have been coming here and all of a sudden. What a joke this place is and very unsanitary. This is not a dentist office any more, it's a money grab! read more

I have been coming to this office since Dr. Reyes was there and only saw Dr. Reyes for about 18 years. Ever since Dr. Reyes retired this new company Goldcoast Dental took over all they have been doing is taking advantage of the patients so beware!! They "the office Manager!" will manipulate you to make you think you need something done when you know you don't need it done! I had my two right wisdom teeth taken out and they made me pay for bone graft when it wasn't necessary for the wisdom teeth. My insurance is really good and usually covers most work and this is where I was taken advantage of. Talk to other dentists or do research before they manipulate you to make you think you need something when you really don't. They just want to make money off you. You just lost two patients Gold Coast Dental!!! I will never be coming back here again!!! You don't deserve any stars!! - negative stars if its possible!!! read more

BEWARE OF OVERPRICED AND DECEPTIVE BILLING I recently went to the office to get orthodontic treatments. Everyone in the office is lovely and I can't say anything bad about them. I went in for ONE appointment to get an imprint of my teeth and then was waiting for my follow up appointment for my trays. While waiting for the trays, a family emergency occurred. I called the office 2 weeks after the impressions were taken to advise them I needed to cancel my treatment as I was about to taken on additional financial obligations and would no longer be able to move forward with my planned treatment. The lady of the phone was very nice and told me she would get it handled. Well a month later I get a phone call because the finance company was still expecting payment from me. I told them that I had told the orthodontist that I was canceling my treatment a month prior; the advised they had not heard a peep from the clinic. The clinic then called me the next day to try and negotiate with me to not cancel my treatment and told me that I would be charged 40% of the cost of the entire treatment plan if I did cancel. This is when I knew I was being overcharged. They offered me $900 off to continue the treatment. I kept telling them that I just could not financially do it at this time. They then said that they would charge me the 40%. I asked again why so much (my treatment plan was supposed to last 3 years and again I went to one appointment and only had the trays made) and I was told that was for the services that were already rendered. When I asked if I could get a breakdown of my services, the gentleman over the phone refused and said he could not provide me that. I asked if I could have the trays I'm being charged for and he said no. Mind you, the refusal to provide me a breakdown of my services is a direct violation of the HIPAA Privacy Rule which includes my right to bill and payment records. They have something to hide and it's obviously that most people don't understand their rights and even fewer understand what the cost of orthodontic services should be. They don't want me to see that there is no justification to have been charged 40% of anything because they haven't provided that dollar amount in services. I will be escalating this matter and I hope that this post helps someone ask more questions up front and possibly avoid this place altogether. read more
