I don't know what they do to their burgers to be so good but it was delicious and juicy. I asked for well done which sometimes can be a little dried out. Not here. I highly recommend any of their burgers and the fries are so good you will want a basket of them. Trust me on this one. The seasoning they use is incredibly tasty. Not too spicy. Not too salty. Just right. This was our first time here. Greg was so nice and patient with our reading everything on the menu. We also played pool. The tables are clean. The entire business to include bathrooms are clean. The music was classic rock. The other customers were also nice and not scary. BEWARE!!!! Daughter visited here on Friday 18 April around 6pm. She charged $7. They said card was declined, so she paid another way. A charge of $20 showed up on the credit card. She checked, they said there was a hold. How can there be a hold if it was declined? My take? Someone there is ripping off college students!! Will be reporting ASAP and declining all charges. If you do nothing else, go shoot some pool there! But above all else, order food! Greg is an amazing and caring cook and very aware and knowledgeable of food allergies. I can't have any gluten and he took time out of his day to clean the grill and let me know he had just cleaned the fryers . Even went as far to let me know the pulled pork has a little bit of worsteshire in it (which has gluten). He didn't have to do that. Pool from 12pm to 3pm is $5.25 per hour unless you buy lunch then pool is free until 3pm. This place is great! Don't pass this up! read more

I visited Gold Crown with some buddies and it was not the best experience. I love all pool halls but this was on the lower end. Great tables and great environment with live music on the Friday I went. However, our main problem was our waitress, from start to finish we were nothing but respectful with please and thank you for everything, she would ignore us when we spoke, when we asked for drinks she would walk right by like we weren't there then we'd get the drink 15 minutes later, part of the experience is the person helping you and that's the main reason the rating is bad, she reflects the restaurant badly, only other problem was the food was room temperature when we got it and all out of a frozen bag. Will go back for the environment but not with her or for the food. read more

I've never been treated so rudely by staff in my life. The bartender that typically wears a mask and has blondish hair ignored me standing at the bar for 15 minutes while over 20 people who got there far after me were getting served-- on both sides of me, so it wasn't like I was standing in the wrong place. After waiting for over 15 minutes (I checked the clock), I put my ID and cash in the middle of the bar, hoping she would see it. A couple minutes later she sees it, shoves my money and ID at me, and yells at me to wait my turn even though I haven't said anything at all. I came with my friends and they had already finished their second round of drinks before I even got yelled at despite me being the first of my friends to the bar. Also, a week later two women got in a knife fight and stabbed each other in here while yelling racial slurs and a SWAT team raided the place--classy. I'm pretty sure the one lady died right in the center of where all the pool tables are. There's still a large bloodstain in the concrete that they didn't bother to fully clean up. read more

Wow. I've been known to dive into dive bars for some local flavor, but their burger smelled like fish! Fish! (There's no fish on the menu, discounting any forgivable flavor cross-contamination on the grill.) Many pool tables, ladies nights, and karaoke are a plus for those Friday nights when you get that "i'm too sexy for this bourgeouis microbrew" itch. If you haven't been to GCB in a while (or never) you should definitely check it out. The interior has been updated with a clean and inviting atmosphere. There are eight 9' Gold Crown pool tables and one coin-operated bar table, a Golden Tee machine, a pinball machine, and plenty of TVs to watch your favorite sports on. The food is always fresh, made to order, and delicious (I especially recommend the quesadillas, cheesesteak, and burgers!). The service is super friendly! If you like beer they have a great selection of taps and bottles: if shots and mixed drinks are more your thing, they also recently upgraded to a full service bar. As for activities, there is a Monday night pool league, 8-ball tournaments Sunday afternoons, 9-ball tournaments Wednesday evenings, and several poker tournaments during the week. They do have several per hour pool tables and a single coin op machine as well as Big Buck Hunter and Golden Tee video game options. They offer beer and wine options only and appeared to have a small pub menu of food options. They offer live entertainment a few nights a week as well with things from DJs to live musicians. I am by no means a "regular" at Gold Crown- I go maybe once every month or so- but I really like the establishment. The service is quick, the waitstaff friendly, and the pricing is fair. The atmosphere is quite pleasant, especially on nights with live music (I recommend going Wednesday night and catching the Open Mic).
