The people were great, and I like the setting. Hope they stay there for a good while. The food was good.

I wasn't even in the mood for beer, but came here anyways and was shocked…read more I went with a friend for dinner here as the options are super limited in Lexington VA. I was already not in the mood for anymore drinking after spending a weekend in a major tournament in Lynchburg. Anyways, for a Saturday evening, this place was pretty packed both inside and outside. We both ended up getting a flight of beers each and every one was great. The food surprised me as my fish tacos was super fresh. The chips and queso was also great. Overall, a must see - especially for the view of the mountains if you decided to eat outdoors.

Brewery # 445…read more Devil's Backbone is a very large operation it seems. They make beer, the make bourbon, and they make food. They just do them all very slowly or at least they did when I was there. We came here on a Monday evening, and it was somewhat busy but there were visible empty tables and a couple spots at the bar. We went to the bar and waited awhile before the bartender asked what we wanted. I didn't ask for a flight because he seemed too busy. Whatever I wanted they were out of, but I ended up with an Imperial 16-point IPA which was quite tasty. I also got some chicken nachos, but I had to go stand in line to order them. They were adequate but not worth the wait. The place was very disorganized. They had workers always standing by the hostess desk, but the bartender was overwhelmed. Seemed like they should have had more than one, after all it is a brewery. Would have loved to try more beer but we just left and went back into Lexington for another round at another place. I don't know maybe it was just a bad night.

How I ended up here: I happened to be in Waynesboro on Wednesday and had free time in the evening…read more I ended up at planet fitness but decided to skip the gym and ride my Segway F3 to Sunset Park. Little did I know, I was about to have a Beer and Music.! I saw HAPP Coffee, (my favorite local craft coffee) But they were closed. Shortly after was Basic City Beer. I rode down the curvy driveway and parked in the Premium Scooter Spacing reserved for the big boys on music nights. The Experience: As soon as I walked in, one of the bartenders came around the bar and showed me his tattoo of The Used, coincidentally the same band t shirt I was wearing. We exchanged names and Trystan poured me up a Basic Ought Dark(yet light). He told me BuckCherry was playing at The Foundry (connected to the brewery). Me being an event videographer, I asked the ticketing booth at the Foundry if they needed anyone to shoot. Due to Artist Contracts I was not allowed. I headed back to the bar and this time, Cayla served me up The Lady (6th Lord Variant). Service so far had been great! I'm drinking on my Beer and one of the Foundry management comes and tells me there was a free ticket someone left at the counter that couldn't make it. I could have it but couldn't use any fancy equipment. I shoot on my IPhone and I was absolutely wowed with such genuity from this place. Thank you all for such a memorable time in Waynesboro.

We were in the foundry area, which seems like it would be a fun spot when there is live music. There's a stage and lights and a bar. However, the layout is extremely confusing, there's several areas with different names and different stuff? There's a taproom, showroom, the foundry, an arcade style area.
