The gluten free menu is extensive and delicious. I have not had any celiac reactions with the food.

Was craving some orange chicken so I ordered online. Online ordering process was easy through Uber Eats. My food was made promptly and pick up went smoothly. Parking easy. Inside is small but worker was nice and quick. I should've read the reviews before because this orange chicken was very different. It was so sweet. The sauce was like congealed at the bottom. The chicken was good but I wish it was crispy and honestly I was kinda off put from how sweet everything was. I would not order this orange chicken again. We stopped into Gold Dumpling due to their extensive gluten free menu and good reviews. I mean, who could pass up a gluten free dumpling?! Their website also confirms that they have separate cooking surfaces for all gluten free offerings. The service is super friendly and the food is delicious. The place is pretty small, and has a few tables if you'd like to dine in. We ordered the chicken dumplings and the orange chicken, along with a milk tea. The dumplings are amazing. Like drive 45 minutes to Groton kind of great. The orange chicken was also really good. My husband enjoyed the milk tea. We will definitely return to Gold Dumpling! read more

We finally made it here to get some gluten free dumplings (which are impossible to find). I was a hole in the wall that was 3/4th kitchen and freezers in the dining area, but just wow! The food was amazing! The pan fried chicken and corn dumplings were juicy and soft and crispy! I stopped in at Gold Dumpling in Groton recently for dinner takeout. The place is geared for takeout and delivery (DoorDash) with very limited seating. I ordered a combo dinner for $9.99 plus tax with pork fried rice, chicken lo mein, 4 steamed pork dumplings and an egg roll too. My food was hot and ready to go in under 10 minutes. The portion of food filled the square box with the egg roll packed on the side. The soft yellow fried rice had small pieces of roast pork & onions. The chicken lo mein had plenty of boneless chicken, carrots, & cabbage tossed with soft noodles. The egg roll was very hot and crispy on the outside. The steamed pork dumplings were the best part which were hot and soft filled with juicy ground pork in a soy dumpling sauce. I would definitely return here to order more dumplings including the red date & red bean dessert dumplings. read more

This place overall was good. There was a little more of a wait than predicted when picking up the order. The food was extremely fresh, served piping hot. The dishes were good, but in my opinion not great. The beef buns had little flavor as they were very dense buns with not a lot of filling. The beef and broccoli was very good with tender meat and fresh broccoli. I think the most disappointing part of the food here was the egg roll and the rice. The pork fried rice was just yellow rice with no vegetables at all (not even the little peas or carrot) and only very small specks of pork. The egg rolls had no meat at all. read more

Don't let the outside scare you. The place looks like a warehouse - only a few small tables inside and looks like it's mainly take out place. We ordered soup dumplings and kung po chicken combo dish. The soup dumpling came a bit slow, but that's expected of soup dumplings - it was pretty good and also kung po chicken was good. Sweet and hint of spice. I think it would do well for American palate. Service was good. the server gave us water and brought food to us and we were happy. I think it's pretty clean, you can see the huge kitchen and people working. My daughter wanted dumplings, we ordered here. Walking in its nondescript, and there were two people in there - I'll assume the son and his mom, mom was making items in the back. We had pork and cabbage Bao buns, multi-colored house lo mein, and beef and cabbage dumplings, each came with either regular or spicy dipping sauce. All of it was clearly freshly made, and really tasty. The containers were pretty cool too, and the reception was very friendly. If you've got a craving for Bao buns or any of the items we had I absolutely recommend this place, we will be back to try more. read more

A great little take out Chinese place with amazing service. There are a few tables inside that you can sit and eat at, but for the most part, it looks like it mostly take out. We got the broccoli and beef, and the sweet and sour chicken. The broccoli and beef sauce was amazing, and but the beef was a little too fatty(next time we will try the chicken). The sweet and sour chicken was the typical fried battered chicken with a small thing of sweet and sour for sipping. The sweet and sour was a bit on the thin side, but it was tasty! Food is sub par at best. Buns are all bread and no filling, total rip off. Worst of all were the rangoons. Simple dish you'd think they would get at least semi-decent, given that they are probably premade anyways. There was no filling of crab let alone cream cheese. 10/10 will NEVER eat here again. read more

Hate to leave a bad review on a new business but this place missed the mark. We got both boiled and fried dumplings. The fried is a very light fry which I like. Let's start with the dumpling wrapper. It's thicker than almost all of the wrappers that I've bought, including the frozen kind. They are machine made and you can tell. The filling is bland and the ratio with the thick wrapper is on the low side. This is a take out spot, I think you can eat in if you want, but seating is scarce. Hardly a knock... It's a Chinese take out joint. That being said, the packaging needs major improvement. The dumplings stuck together and if you are going to be a take out joint, you should figure out how to make the take out packaging correct . The owner/cashier was very pleasant. They seem to be really big on the gluten free dumplings but the menu isn't complete yet when I had it. I'm not gluten free so I don't really care. They also have fake meat dumplings, which I don't care about either, but I wouldn't mind having veggie dumplings (without fake meat). From a convenience side, it's obviously a lot easier than making them yourself and there isn't another dumpling restaurant in the area. I might go back in a pinch but unless they improve, there are better frozen dumpling options at new Asia market. read more

The food was ready quickly at 5:30 pm. I like the pleasant, smiling staff. I was hoping for more authentic Chinese items but the dumplings and noodles with the great vegetables were very good. Was hoping the noodles were more like Thai and maybe more choices. They are very long and must be cut in order to eat gracefully and not make a mess on the table. Nothing seemed overly salty. The egg roll was good and cooked long enough to shatter when cut or bitten and pieces fly around a bit. Wish that Chinese mustard came with it (and also some Chinese cookies). The orange chicken did not have a thick batter or was greasy - was very good. There is not much sitting room (one? table). The place could be difficult for some to find (I know that plaza and guessed right where it is). Want to try more items and maybe try the obscure noodle menu (not seen on website). This might warrant four and a half stars. We'll see. read more

Our first visit, we got the pan-fried pork dumplings and pork buns, both were excellent. We were regular Chen's of Uncasville customers until they closed, have really struggled to find a good replacement, with little success. We will gladly drive over from Uncasville if their other dishes are as good as the dumplings and buns. Looking forward to trying something else. read more
