Two bad experiences. #1. Went to sell my bridal set and was offered $45. I declined and sold on Facebook for $250. I had met the buyer there and they appraised at over $700. Seems like they were really trying to rip me off the first time I went in. Bad. Fast forward a year and a half later.... #2. Today I decided to bring in a pair of earrings my ex bought for me there. The lady went in the back, came back and offered me $40, when they were bought there for nearly $400!!! Yes, I was missing a back to one of them but WOW. I said I'd pass, and told her they were bought there for that amount, and she said "not at my store" then stormed away to the other side, when I was trying to check out and possibly buy some rings! I said "ok, I guess you're not going to let me look at anything?" And she said "ok" and never came back. I guess they aren't needing business and since I am shopping for rings I'll go elsewhere! Any business that is as involved with th community as the Gold Exchange is will have me as a happy and loyal customer forever. I will also shout from the rooftops about how good their business is. Jessie (owner) ran a promotion during the holidays that if you brought in a bag of groceries for the local food bank, you got 40% off your entire purchase. I know that they had pickups at least twice a week and every time I went in there, there were bags stacked 3 ft high and about 15 ft wide and 5 feet deep. It made me smile to see so much food going to local food bank to help families in need during the holidays. It doesn't stop there tho! Year round, Jessie has a promotion for 50% off ALL Jewelry for Military members. She told me a story how a while back a couple came into te store to buy rings while the womans' husband was on Leave. Instead of selling them the rings and saying thank you, she gave them 50% off and because Jessie is an ordained minister, she married them right there! In my wierd goofy vision, that is pretty cool. I don't know how much better customer service can get after that. SO, recap so far: bring in a bag of groceries, get 40% off and food goes to local food bank. if you are a servicemember, you get 50% off jewelry. I know Jessie is working on many other projects to help the needy in our area. MAJOR kudos to her and her staff! And then you get to the part about the products they offer in the store. Great experience. Met the lady who owns the shop and her kind words and sincerity were welcomed to hear. I was nervoys, and I never had taken an item to pawn, so her coming up to me and telling me she wanted to have her business welcoming to women and help them out and to give them a safe place to get the help they need. I really appreciated it, and her staff are very nice, pleasant, and thorough! They discovered the paperwork for authenyisity for my ring was incorrect and I called the maker of the piece and got it straightened out. I'll be back to do more business again. read more

The best experience! I was leery of going to a pawn shop because I've heard not very good things. I checked the Yelp reviews and it sounded like the place was perfect for a woman who has never had to pawn anything. The owner came over and told me how it works and listened to my story. She made me feel so welcome! It was wonderful as she made me feel comfortable and her compassion and advice were just what I needed. There are two sides of the store and when I was done in the pawn side of the shop, she recommended that I go check out the other side on my way out. The lady on that side knew exactly what I needed and was just as compassionate and caring as the other side. They have a life long customer! Went into the Gold Exchange today to sell some jewelry I have been wanting to get rid of and had a great experience. I was actually extremely nervous to go just because it was a new experience for me, but I was not looked down on, nor was I given dirty looks for bringing my very young children in with me (which often happens when bringing kids into small retail businesses).
