I'm an adult that doesn't know how to swim... I chose this place because they offer an adult learning program even though it's a bit far from me. I signed up for their free trial class and I loved it! Everyone is very friendly and the swimming coach Alex S is super attentive. The adult class is small so there's plenty of individual attention which it's great because everyone is at different levels and have specific needs. After the free trial, they just asked me if I liked the class, but no one tried to force me to enroll which I appreciate! I absolutely love attending Gold Medal Swim School. I am an Adult Beginner and I was hesitant/nervous about starting. The staff have been nothing short of amazing every step of the way. I receive praise every class as well as constructive criticism (told in the very direct and gentle ways). Every staff member I've encountered has been very nice and encouraging. I'm so thankful for Gold Medal Swim! Day 1 I was very afraid of the water and didn't feel comfortable putting my head in... a few months later and I am starting to freestyle swim. Yay! I can't say enough good things about Gold Medal Swim School, the programs they offer, and their wonderful staff. We started my son in Baby Swim at the beginning of 2020 at 16 months old. By summer, I was amazed at how well he was swimming and by 2 years old he was fearlessly jumping in on his own and could swim clear across our pool. What brings me peace of mind is that their program also stresses the importance of pool safety. My son knows never to go in the pool without a parent or adult who welcomes him in first. Since the beginning of Covid, they have implemented certain protocols to make the students and parents feel more comfortable. They offer an unlimited swim program that we have taken advantage of, that I truly believe has led to the success of my son advancing so quickly. During our time at Gold Medal, the staff has been so warm and welcoming that they aren't just swim instructors to us, but apart of our extended family and the highlight of our weekly routine. We started our 2 year old with Gold Medal last month. Before this, we've used both Swimhaus Gilbert and AquaTots of Chandler. Nothing remotely compared to Gold Medal! Our son has learned more in 4 lessons than he had the entire rest of his life at other schools. We have only had Angela so far and she is seriously amazing. She's clearly experienced in teaching swim. She always makes our son AND us as parents feel welcome and makes sure we understand WHY we're doing what we're doing. The facility is clean and well run. Unlimited swim is a huge perk (if you can get in). We will be staying with Gold Medal for a long time! read more

An absolute goldmine for learning swimmers. Lessons are affordable, flexible and there are numerous time slots available. The staff is super helpful in explaining the process. Make sure to check in with them on your first lesson. As with most swim schools there are levels for kids to advance after they master the main principles for each level they're currently in. So brand new beginners start at the very beginning and work their way into the advanced classes. Instructors are patient and the ratio is small for the early levels (3 swimmers to 1 instructor). Our daughter was petrified of water and we had moved through a few different schools. Other spots were literally pushing her head underwater in the first lesson. Yah, this didn't make her nerves any better (parents too). Gold Medal was different. Our daughter was paired with Emily and she is the most amazing swim instructor ever. She's patient, engaged the kids in conversation, focuses on safety and won't do something the child isn't ready for-- although she'll encourage them to try after a while. Our daughter learned so much from Emily and we are grateful for that. The facility is really nice. The water and room are set to 90 degrees so kids getting too cold shouldn't be an issues. There are showers and changing rooms off to in side and they are plentiful. There's a cool contraption that lets you speed dry swimsuits in like 30 seconds. There are blow dryers too. They thought of most everyone to get your kiddo out the door as dry as possible. If you're looking for a great place for you to bring new or experienced swimmers, look no further. I really love it here. The facility is clean and the instructors are wonderful. We started my son here when he was two. He was THAT kid-- the one that screamed and cried through the entire lesson. I felt horrible and embarrassed by this. I also felt badly that my son was so scared. His instructor, Becky, worked so well with him and really helped to ease his fears. No one there ever made me feel bad that my kid was screaming and crying. They never seemed annoyed or frustrated by it. They just worked calmly with him every week until he finally started to enjoy himself. It's sweet that they celebrate every accomplishment. They make each kid feel special. Now, my son actually enjoys swimming! And he talks about Miss Becky all the time. He pretends to swim at home (on our floor- we don't have a pool at home) and gets excited when I tell him we're going to swim with Miss Becky. It's a relief! Their unlimited swim program is awesome, too. I feel like you really get your money's worth here. We try to come at least twice a week if they have openings. We have had such an awesome experience with GMSS. We enrolled our son when he was only 3.5 months old (now 6.5 months old) because we have a pool and wanted him to get acquainted with the water as soon as possible. SO glad we did. Miss Heather has been a true rockstar and we have been shocked at how much our infant is able to do in the pool and how much his skills have developed here. He LOVES going to swim classes and even loves being dunked under water and floating on his back. We get individualized focus in the baby class and it's a fun activity to do with our baby too. So worth the cost and we will definitely continue to go. The facilities are also very nice and always clean and organized. read more

My daughter has been attending Gold Medal Swim School since February. The instructors are great! They always take the time to say hello outside of class and they are very caring. The class ratio is fantastic - with a max of 3:1 in each beginner (Starfish) class. Currently the price is $72/month, which includes 1 class per week during the Spring and Summer and the ability to schedule unlimited classes per week from October-February. The school also routinely sends emails for a free class when there is same day availability (usually with newer instructors). The only reason I am leaving this at 4 stars is that my daughter has struggled with swim lessons in the indoor pool because some of the sky lights are not covered/filtered. She is very sensitive to light and I am concerned she may not be able to progress with the way the skylights are currently. Only time will tell! The management at Gold Medal is top notch, which is probably why they retain such happy employees! Overall, I am very pleased with Gold Medal. I have been regretting for not having learnt to swim as kid , but realized it's never too late . I have been taking swimming lessons since three months at Gold medal swim school and they are absolutely amazing. The instructors are so talented; they have tried and tested all possible methods to make it easier for the amateurs. My instructor Matt is a down to earth guy and he actually cares for his students. . The other instructors are equally cool too, however the majority of my lessons were taught by Matt Trust me, swimming lessons get me all animated after a day's long work. :) read more

My six-year-old boys have been going to Gold Medal since they were 8 months old. We have a little drive to get there, but we continue to go because we love the staff/teachers, curriculum, and atmosphere. Our boys love swimming and learning new skills. I feel so confident when we are around a pool that our boys can handle themselves appropriately. They know they are not supposed to get in the water without an adult, and once they are in the water, they do a great job getting to the side of the pool when they need to. Having this piece of mind is priceless to me, and we are thankful to Gold Medal for teaching them these skills. I am so impressed with their swimming skills. read more

This is a high quality operation. I've been very happy with the facilities, the people, and the fun I'm having in the pool with our little toddler. The water and air is kept at about 90 degrees, which makes it perfect to stand in while practicing water safety with peanut. Everything is super clean, and the place seems to run like clockwork. I really think it's great for babies and toddlers to take lessons here. I feel much more confident with him in the water now, and he has a blast. Only minus for me is that you have to bring your own towels. Unlike Lifetime Fitness Gym up the street or any hotel ever, they have no towels. But this is a minor gripe. They do have a well-stocked 'did you forget' bucket of diapers/wipes/baby supplies in the changing rooms. Our daughter started swim school here a few years ago and they've always been a great group of people to work with. She still does private lessons with Coach Walker and he's always been a great coach for her. The quality of swimmers coming out of Gold Medal is great and it's not a huge club where your kid may get lost in the mix. They focus on technique and it's a night and day difference comparing Gold Medal kids with other schools that focus on speed. Highly recommended whether you have kids that need to learn how to swim for safety or if you're raising a future Olympian. read more

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Gold Medal! When my kids began attending, there were many tears because they were not sold on the concept of swimming without Mommy. However, after only 5 minutes in the water, there were nothing but smiles! They now beg me everyday to go to "swim school". This is an excellent facility. Both of my kids have flourished since beginning lessons last year, and they enjoy coming to the classes. Obviously, it isn't cheap so be prepared for that hit to your pocketbook each month. However, you can find ways to make the most of the cost, especially during the winter months. Make sure to watch for the emails mentioning open classes and respond quickly. If you have the time, you can get a number of free classes in each week. Our 3 year old son has been taking swim lessons here for about 6 weeks now and we continue to be so impressed. We've seen a ton of growth from him. The unlimited swim is a really cool feature, although it can be tough to get a spot. We make sure to sign up as soon as it opens and that helps. The instructors all seem really nice, although we have little interaction with them. I love that their program encourages independence. It only took one class for our son to learn the ropes and fall in line. They are strict about safety and routine and I can see why--there are A TON of children through this place everyday. The worst part for me is crowding into the showers after to get my kiddo rinsed off. It's a small price to pay for how much fun he's having learning to swim and be safe in the water! I look forward Edited to add: We just returned from a trip to Mexico. His first day in the water he was a bit over confident and went in a little too far but he impressed the heck out of my dad because, although he hasn't yet mastered the flip to his back, he used his little arms and legs to belly glide up to shore. He was quite frightened but took in minimal water and my dad just kept saying "he knew exactly what to do and he did everything right!"
