I thought that seemed excessive so I looked on Yelp and found Fast-Fix Jewelry and Watch Repair. It is located in the Broward Mall, near the main entrance. It was quite busy on a Sunday, but I was approached by an associate after about two or three minutes. I showed him my watches, (nothing high-end,) and was told the batteries for each would be $16.95. I dropped off three watches and was told it would take 45 minutes to an hour and that they will text me when the batteries were replaced. I received a text after about 40 minutes that my watches were ready. When I returned to the shop there were quite a few customers there again. When it was my turn, I presented the associate with my claim check and my watches were returned.. They told me one of the watches had a leaking battery and they were unable to get it working. I was not charged for that repair and I left with 2 working watches, plus a one year warranty. Overall, I was extremely happy with the service I received. Everyone at the store was friendly and knowledgeable, plus pricing seemed better than the first estimate I had from a different store. As soon as I tell him it's a repair he flags down Maurice and he's all eyes on me. Fills me in about the issues that he finds. Let me know that some pieces wouldn't be worth fixing. And shares all the options. Freaking great HONEST service! I pay, given a receipt and return a week later. When I returned the store was a little more busy. I take the time to eye some of the jewelry and bags displayed throughout the store. Cute unique items at a moderate price. Purchased my sister's bday/Christmas gift months early because I couldn't let that deal pass me. Every single piece that I gave him a week ago that was broken, bent, and dirty was returned brand new. After being surprised by Josef's approximately $900 quote to replace the movement of the watch (a standard quartz movement that itself is available for sale online for ~$40) I took the watch to JR Dunn in Pompano--an authorized Tag dealer and repair shop, where Josef's is not--and was quoted less than $300 to have the entire job done, by Tag themselves, with a warranty. Shamelessly quoting 3x a certified dealer for the exact same job is outrageous.
