Gold's Gym on Burnet Road is still as shiny and glistening as it was on day one. This Gold's Gym is always super clean and with many locations to exercise - cardio, and weight training (machines or free weights). This gym is super spacious, modern with state of the art equipment. In addition, the gym has a posing room (yep! posing room!), hydro massage and sauna services. There is something for every discerning gym member. I went for a total body workout early this morning. While the time was early morning, the gym was in high gear with a fully packed gym...not an original idea. It was not long waits for the equipment....so, the selection of equipment is good. My goal was to do 3 set of 15-20 reps. Goal accomplished...in addition, it is centrally located with easy access from Burnet Road. With standard Gold's Gym membership, you can access to this gym with no extra cost. Monthly membership is $29-$49 dependent on access level and premium amenities. read more

They literally raised their founding membership price from 32 to 48. It would've been understandable if there's improvements to the gym; However, it is still too packed and parking is still awful. Don't get me wrong, the gym itself is good, lots of good machines and decent space. It is just not worth 48 anymore. read more

Want to thank Gold's Burnet for screwing us over on the fake founding members rate. Without that I would have never discovered Los Campeones, where serious lifters come to work out. No tripods or toddlers running around leaving their plates on the machine and not even wiping down the equipment. Women dress with dignity and self respect. No members draped over the machines looking at their phone and if they do you are allowed to ask to use or work in on the machine. No tier nonsense. A good gym never identifies itself with tiers. The top trainers in town work out here because it delivers. No review solicitation to pad their 5 star reviews like L.A. Fitness does. They also offer filtered water for your free brand name coffee and free towels. Kitchen has tables and chairs, a microwave and free condiments. Free toiletries in the bathroom. Tons of merch and products to fuel your body and workout. For those wanting longer gym hours, it opens at 4 a.m. and open till midnight, weekends are just as generous. If you pay a year in advance, memberships drop to $65. I also got a free month. Again, thank you so much Gold's for being so greedy!!! read more

This place has so much potential and is almost there. I had a sour taste in my mouth as the Gold's Gym - Highland is severely disappointing. I'm still glad I chose this gym and locked in a founder's rate. Cardio! Finally a place with a plethora of machines that are even hard-wired into the building's internet network. It's great to be able to tap my watch on the treadmill and see it record on my watch. The machines are super up to date! Towels! The towel system is genius and the station is never empty. Locker rooms! What? Come on. This place is nearly the size of a campus and it's nearly impossible during peak hours to fit in this locker room. Plus, most of the lockers have their locking device facing the wrong way and therefore cannot be used. Customer Service! Love those at the front. They are super helpful (like when I discovered my VPN wasn't allowing me to connect to WiFi) and always have a bright energy. Value! I would say this is probably the gym with the most value in this area. They will run specials, so if you're considering -- just wait. Fix the locker room and this Gold's will be 5 stars! read more

Echoing others here: when I signed up for a nationwide Gold's Gym membership ~4 years ago, I reasonably expected that to include all Gold's locations nationwide. Finding out this newly built location -- which is much more convenient for me -- didn't honor that felt like a bait-and-switch. After receiving the "warning" others have mentioned, I begrudgingly switched my home gym to Burnet in the Gold's app because the location itself is great. A few visits later, I found out the app hadn't actually updated my plan and that I instead needed to do it in person at the front desk. By that point, the premium plan price had increased even further in the weeks since I'd attempted to switch. The GM offered no apology or effort to make up for the confusion and the new higher price I'd need to pay -- only that there was "nothing they could do" and they would "follow up with the app team." Really frustrating customer experience for what is otherwise a nice gym, though I still don't quite understand the incremental value over other golds gyms to demand nearly double the pricing read more

There's a lot to like about this Gold's Gym location. It's spacious and generally not so busy that you can't get on an elliptical trainer or weight training machine. It's clean and modern with a decent locker room (love that I can get clean towels here-a must!) and showers and grooming area. There's a sauna in the locker room as well. **Great Workout Floor, Frustrating Locker Room** I've been working out at the new Gold's Gym on Burnet Road in Austin for a while now, so here's the real deal: the workout floor is excellent. It's spacious, clean, and stocked with brand-new equipment -- plenty of machines, free weights, and lots of room for functional training. They've added some nice extras too, like massage chairs, which are a great perk if you want to unwind after a tough session. If you like to show up ready to sweat and then head straight home, you'll probably love it. They even have a posing room, which I know some members really appreciate -- personally, it's not for me, but I get the appeal for people who compete or want to check their form. That said, there are still a few drawbacks. First, the music is *loud* -- so loud you'll still hear it through your AirPods. That gets old fast if you prefer your own playlist or just want to focus. They also don't have enough bikes for how busy it gets. And while there *is* some functional core and ab equipment, it's tucked away from the cable machines and plyo boxes -- it would make a lot more sense grouped closer together. Not terrible, just an odd layout choice. The real frustration, though, is the locker room -- especially considering this is Austin's only Level 3 Gold's Gym. A Level 3 gym should feel premium all around, not just on the workout floor. That means more than fancy faucets and towel service. It should offer a comfortable, spa-like locker room experience with generously sized lockers that can actually fit a duffel bag, coat, shoes, and a hanging work outfit -- not just small, same-size lockers that leave you cramming everything inside. Worse, you may show up and find that *every* locker is already taken, which is beyond frustrating when you need to change or stash your stuff. It's not just the locker room that feels lacking for a club branded as "Level 3." There's no group studio for fitness classes, no indoor track, no pool, no hot tub, and no steam room -- all things you'd reasonably expect at a higher-tier gym with a higher price tag. The sauna here is tiny and doesn't make up for the missing extras that usually help justify premium membership. Other Level 3 touches you'd expect? Quality toiletries -- separate shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (not just a single all-in-one soap dispenser). Full-length mirrors, hair dryers, things like mouthwash and lotion. A sauna large enough to be inviting. Some gyms offer the option to rent a dedicated locker monthly -- I'd gladly pay extra for that peace of mind, but that's not an option here. To top it off, the locker room benches are so narrow that just opening your gym bag can feel like a balancing act. If someone's sitting next to you, you're elbow-to-elbow trying to change or put on your shoes. I'd love to see wider benches that make it easy to sit down, spread out, and get organized without feeling rushed. Meanwhile, the other Gold's locations in Austin are Level 1 clubs -- but honestly, their locker rooms often have better layouts, bigger lockers, and more breathing room, all at a lower membership cost (around $35/month vs. $50 here). The Burnet Road location does have brand-new equipment, massage chairs, and a fresh vibe -- but for most people, that may not be enough to justify the extra cost if the locker room can't keep up. Members paying for a Level 3 or "signature" club generally expect at least more space, more comfort, more privacy, and a few 'nice-to-have' extras that make getting ready before work or unwinding after feel worth the upcharge. The crowd here is young and energetic, so the vibe on the workout floor is great if that's what you're after. Bottom line: The gym floor delivers. The extras like massage chairs are nice. But the locker room falls short of what a Level 3 club should be -- and that makes the premium price feel harder to justify. read more

Current Golds Member: Pros: Deluxe gym with a lot of cool amenities. The sheer amount of machines offering different modalities to train your body is definitely awesome! A ton of racks and turf space for crossfit or curated circuit training is a total win. The machines aren't your cookie cutter basic fare nonsense so I commend this Golds for spending the extra money for newer brand/innovative machines (except the matrix full racks...) Also, they have up to 200lb dumbbells and I love that! Cons: The plates and bars are a bit oily but that's because it's new. Not a big deal. A good amount of the upper body (push) machines are a bit wonky and oddly don't have the adjustment you'd expect from very pricy third party machines. I didn't test the pull or leg machines yet so I can't comment on those. They do use a newer version of the matrix squat racks which are not the best but definitely doable. The bumper plates however are not the best as they should have gotten the thinner steel olympic bumber plates and the polyurethane ones are just excessively thick. Deal Breaker: They currently don't accept your military veteren membership. I was told "we see you have a veteran agreement but we don't recognize it yet". It's fine if you want to make more money with a deluxe gym but not recognizing veteran's yet? Did the burnet (Crestview) Golds gym just forget veterans exist? Lol. Why yet? I would have been fine with paying more (as the gym is truly nice and worth it) but to not have a supported membership upgrade to reflect military service (at a Golds no less!) is really odd and not commendable. read more

Closing at 9 PM on weekends is really inconvenient for a gym. I wish the weekend hours were later.

It's fine. No classes. Locker rooms are minimal, at best. Always crowded and they charge $60 a month. I'm not sure it's worth it when you get the same, albeit dirtier, from other lower-end gyms. read more

Not sure why this place has so many five star reviews. I get why Golds Gym is overall a great place to work out and normally I am 100% on board with that but in more ways than one, this new location did not understand the assignment They have very VERY few perks from what I noticed. They DO however have personal training and brand new equipment and fancy showers sure -- whatever works for you is great and if that's all you need. I do appreciate all the free weights and resistance equipment (with some drawbacks - more to come on that later ) however I am personally very annoyed they do not and will not plan to have bootcamp /strength training classes here on the turf (the "Mecca"). You don't need a designated workout room or cycle studio for that. People sometimes want structure for some of their daily workouts during the week. That class in particular really helps/helped inspire my workouts the rest of the week!!!! I guess I could just YouTube everything but there are SO many fake gym influencers on that platform who have noooo clue what they're talking about. What's worse, many social media fitness YouTubers do a good job making it **look** like they know what they're talking about and doing. The golds bootcamp class at least helps reinforce the proper way to strength train without fear of putting yourself in the hospital, esp if that person working out doesn't have the money to spare for personal training on site Resistance equipment does not come with instructions on the machinery so again, opens up the chances for injury particularly to new members who are new to strength training, unless someone's been familiar with that exact brand or type of machinery for a very long time... PS allegedly this place has a recovery unit or massage chairs or something? I combed the entire place and found no sign of that room whatsoever but that's probably due exclusively to my own blindness even with wearing glasses or contacts. Alright alright so you're telling me you want $54 a month from someone who's already been a member for almost four years at other locations ....for....(checks notes) personal training, really loud music, a shiny brand new shower, an alleged massage chair(s), and NO group strength training at all???? None of this is the front desk workers' or trainers' fault so I am not mad at them...but corporate? Come on. PLEASE at least for one day try to see things through the eyes of regular human beings that aren't all as well off as you are and don't all think like you think. You might get a few extra customers that way, who knows? read more
