Since they closed the Ione branch, I have to drive to Martell. I have had an account in Ione for over 8 years. My hubby gets a nice bonus every year. The staff at Ione would always deposit the funds without holding it. We have direct deposit from same employer and have been putting this check in every Christmas since the beginning, but the rude lady in Martell would not allow this without holding the majority of it for 10 days! This has now happened two years in a row. Merry Christmas! I have enough in my account already to cover this, but she REFUSED to budge over this STUPID policy. G-1 in Jackson/Martel goes pretty smoothly. Sometimes there's a wait, especially in the morning. I usually avoid going into an actual branch, but when I do I'm never in a huge hurry because there's probably going to be a wait (like any bank). I've seen people in a huge hurry, then they're rude to the teller which doesn't help anything. I'm always taken care of when it's my turn. read more

Poor customer service! One teller open with two other staff in the bank doing whatever they are doing but definitely not helping the one teller behind the counter. Customers always in line waiting for the bank to open. Line of customers to the door when it does open. Why would Golden 1 close the all of the other branches in the county and then understaff the one branch that's left? They encourage you to use the ATM machine that's seems to be always broken. After 30 years of banking with Golden 1 I think they are telling me to take my business elsewhere!!!! Employees doing the best they can while understaffed. But line out to the door as usual. If you come here expect a ten to fifteen minute wait to get to s teller. It has been this way since Golden 1 closed the Ione branch. If you live in Ione you now get your drive 20 minutes one way to get here then stand in line. Golden 1 wants to force you to use the ATM. Ever since the Ione, CA branch closed this bank has turned into a joke. 6th time in a row between 2 atms it has not accepted my cash deposit. Always says not available. Then because there is only one branch in the whole county the like is minimum 12 customers long. I am really considering going back to a bank as this place waste so much of my time now for the most basic of services. Unless you are the type that comes to a bank to stand in line and socialize, you may want to put your money elsewhere. read more

Strongly recommend using a different banking system if you can. If you travel and or If you like short lines this is NOT the bank for you. However, if you enjoy seeing everyone from town in one location then i guess this is the bank for you. Maybe we can at least get a food truck outside the branch or something to pass the time. Simply put there are not enough locations in any given area for the amount of clientele that bank with golden 1 in Jackson. The people that are working there are not the issue its the corporate that is unaware of what a pain in the ass their lack of locations create for the customer. If it was not such a pain in the butt to switch banks i would be doing so currently. When you have 4 teller locations available and only 2 are being used at the bright and early hour of your 10 AM open time there might be a problem. Especially when there is 25 plus people standing in line to access their money at 9:45. I know people who have voiced complaints to corportate golden 1 and basically sent a boiler plate response of sorry not sorry. So obviously this will not be fixed in the near future. Extremely bad customer service for a well known bank. Do I recommend this branch to anyone else? No I won't especially when I witnessed how they treated my girlfriend, they refuse to assist her in setting up her online account, refused to give her bank statements even she agreed to pay the fees for the service. We had to drive to Sacramento to be able get statements and setup online banking. What a shame! read more

The branch manager was courteous and quick helping me with my special transaction. The branch is clean and on Saturdays not as busy.

Worst customer service I've ever had at a bank. Most every time I go to this branch I get an indifferent attitude. Have to make an appointment to do almost anything--to add my husband to my acct. when he was with me. Had paperwork mailed to me (customer service with the toll-free number is excellent) to avoid another 30 minute drive from Pioneer to the branch. When I tried to drop off the signed, completed paperwork to the manager, she told me to wait in line. I insisted she take it b/c I refused to wait in the long line since she didn't have a member in front of her. Acted like she was doing me a favor. Exception: The blond long-haired lady has always been nice and respectful toward me though when I get her as a teller. Hope she can't ntinues to be that way, and becomes manager (if she wants the job). read more

Worse bank ever. They put a hold on my check for 7 days and release date was suppose to be 11/1/2022 guess what they lied now I am being told the back office put a permanent hold until I showed proof that the check cleared at the other parties bank account. I went to the branch and gave such proof and when I call the customer service line asking why the delay and when I should expect the $$$ to be release I am told they never got it. I saw the lady emailed it to them. Now I have to waste another day of my busy life going into the bank to ask why the back office didn't get the proof. Fucking bullshit if you ask me , it's fucking illegal for the bank to put a permanent hold on my check and not even cancel the transaction so I can go elsewhere. They couldn't even tell me how much longer they'll be holding my own damn check/$$$. I did as I was told to get Proof the check cleared at the other bank which is ridiculous that I had to do their own job. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS I WOULD! I come here every single month to pay my rent on the 1st habitually... There's one certain teller named MARY who seems uncertain on how to deposit money into an account number with her name. She insisted I had the wrong account number. So I had to pack up my things(after waiting in a huge line) drive me and my baby home grab my lease and past rent receipts( which have the exact account # I've been saying to her!) I go back inside after waiting in another huge line. I get helped by the other teller and she gets it on the first try. NEEDLESS TO SAY AT THIS POINT IM FRUSTRATED. I told her this MARY lady has done this exact same thing to me three times now. Mary barges in and said I tried the account number six times. Which is one unprofessional but two not my fault she can't do a simple job like depositing money into a checking account. This place sucks ESPECIALLY Mary. If I didn't have to pay my rent here every month I WOULD NEVER RETURN. read more
