Zero stars if I could. Golden Bear was assigned to me through AAA for roadside assistance. Originally I was told it would be an hour wait, but that one hour turned into two. After contacting two different AAA agents that reached out directly to Golden Bear regarding their ETAs, they did not show up for either of them. I called Golden Bear directly after waiting two and a half hours only to find out that they bumped my request for another, did not contact me to let me know, that it would take an additional 45 minutes for them to get to me. So my total wait time was now projected to be 3 hours from my original request. Terrible service, undependable, and inconsiderate of people's time & safety. Why accept a job if you are not going to do it in a timely manner? I reached out to AAA a third time and they were able to contact a DIFFERENT provider who arrived and helped me within five minutes. read more

Very concerning experience with Golden Bear Towing. About 5 years ago, one of their drivers aggressively refused to yield while I was merging onto the 10 freeway, honking, speeding up, and using high beams to intimidate me. It was a scary situation. Today, I saw another of their trucks tailgating a Mustang just inches behind and driving aggressively again. This seems like a pattern of unsafe, reckless behavior. Today I have called AAA for a towing job and AAA assigned the job to their contractor towing company which is this Golden Bear Towing. I was informed by AAA that it will take 20 to 25 minutes for the towing truck to get to where I was. Couple minutes later Golden Bear Towing called me back and told me it would take hour and forty five minutes to get to me. I told the lady that we have an elderly patient just finished Doctor's visit and could not stay under the heat of 95-98 degrees. The lady just flatly refused to accommodate our unique situation and sent truck over sooner. I just wondered how AAA would sign up the contract with such terrible company? Of course AAA, in this case was the main problem to have contracted the Golden Baer Towing under their organization. Do not expect any decent service from this company! read more

I have called their tow truck office several times and keep getting the run around from someone named Melanie. The drrivers name is Billy. I will probably end up taking them to small claims court. Contacted AAA for battery issues. John the guy who answered the call came before the time AAA had given me. I was impressed with the quickness and arrival time. He tested my battery and told me it's dead and that I needed a new one. His quote was $260 plus tax and I told him I had already looked at Autozone, Walmart and Costco for price comparison. He mentioned that even though they had better prices that his battery was far superior. Though this last battery I got from AAA died just two months shy of the full replacement. He wasn't super pushy regarding the battery replacement but he essentially lied to me. He even tried to tell me he could get me a better price by pro rating my battery but still at $160 it was overpriced. Turns out my battery isn't dead at all. It definitely needed a jump and I drove around for 40 minutes and left it overnight to see if it would start up this morning. I took it on 3 short runs around the neighborhood and it starts up fine. I'm sad that I trusted AAA services in the past because they contract with good independent contractors but this company is unscrupulous and would've cheated me out of my hard earned $$$ read more

After installatino, the battery reads more than the 500 full setting, which means the battery is brand new. Jesse also confirmed the battery is newly arrival. Jesse is courteous and his truck is clean too. can't be happier. Also aaa membership can be waived $20 fee if you sign up online. very happy with 3 year aaa warranty too. read more

Called AAA to get a jump for my car. Sent their guy out with a depleted jumper box. He still tried though, causing a lot of sparks when attaching the cables to my battery. He said he can't get the car to start and to call back the next day. Called AAA and they sent this company again! He had juice in his box but wasn't able to get my car started. Called AAA again but this time I needed a tow. This company came out and towed my car to the mechanic. My mechanic said something blew up, I barely drive the car how can that happen? And he said, "Someone probably jumped your car wrong!" Went back to AAA to file a claim as the repairs costed me over $800. This towing company denied my claim and won't take any responsibility and AAA let them. I don't know what they got on AAA that all 3 times this shit company was sent out to me, and I hate them. We called AAA for roadside service. They dispatched our service request to Golden Bear. Operator Liz was friendly and professional. The first driver had to be replaced because he didn't have room for two of to ride back home. The second driver, Kevin, was sent a short wait later. Kevin was friendly, courteous, and professional. He treated our vehicle with respect and displayed experience and knowledge through how he secured the car to his flatbed. The air conditioning was on when we entered the truck. I was misled to tow my car here instead of towing to bodyshop or home. I called AAA my insurance company, I was reminded to pick up asap. Unfortunately when I get there the guy said on Saturday he can't release my car even I was willing to pay $350 high charge. He let me come back next Monday and comfort he will talk to manager to explain my situation and waiver the extra charge. I trusted him. The nightmare was coming on Monday morning when I came back with $500 charge! Otherwise he can't release my car for me. What a difference with grabbing my money!!! However the LADY working in the morning I am currently sitting in a car with my toddler it's is freezing outside in the Winter time she is rude with a bad attitude! I asked her if they could make it urgent bc my daughter is cold she argued with me hung up in my face and forwarded my call 12 times yes I called back 12 maybe more times. That is the worse customer service I have ever received and anyone whose EGO is big enough to disregard a toddler who is freezing cold is dispirited, and disgusting to not care about a child, and since it's my child it's taken very personally! Liberty Towing was dispatched by my insurance company when I locked myself out of my car like an idiot in a parking lot in San Dimas. The driver got into my car but bent the frame of the door slightly in the process, compromising the noise insulation. When I called my insurance company about it, Liberty Towing reached out to me and offered to fix it. Cesar, the owner, and Sam, the dispatcher, are really friendly! They fixed my door quickly, and then threw in a car wash and waxed an unrelated paint stain off of my car for the inconvenience. They seem to really care about the quality of service their company provides, and they hold their drivers accountable for the work they do. There are a few negative reviews about drivers - I'd recommend calling either Cesar or Sam to let them know so they are aware and can address the issue if something happens! read more

I tried getting my car back and he gave me a list of how much all the expenses were. After I told him he was ripping me off. He says he didn't care because he can do whatever he wants with my car and taunted me saying that everyone says they're going to file a claim against him but they never do. I hope this company fails and I wish they would loose their association with AAA. Because after I chose to use it they charged me when my towing should have been free.
