What happened to my favorite favorite Thai place? The review I gave five months ago was exceptional and 5 star. this has been my favorite thai restaurant for years. Maybe this was an off night, but it went from amazing to horrible to say the least. I'm a lover of green curry with shrimp and this one was extremely watered down and the shrimp were hard and fishy. (pretty dish though) The chicken satay did not have that yummy flavor (bland) , and the pork pad thai was dried out. We always love to have plum wine and they do not have their liquor license at the moment. On this visit, I give the food a 2, the ambience a 4, and the service a 5. It is worth mentioning that I haven't seen the husband and wife couple that used to run it so maybe their absence has contributed to their downfall (maybe a chef change also) anyone else experienced this change? read more

We ordered Pad Thai noodle's and basil fried rice, spice level 3.5 on 1-5 ( 5 being spicy) Good portion size but very average taste when it comes to basil fried rice - it is white rice tossed with vegetables absolutely no flavor at all. Whereas Pad Thai noodles was good, flavorful. We are not New York, we felt $39 for our food was expensive. This is generic comment about how I felt with other stores in the area as well read more

We visited Golden Buddha for a dinner date night and really enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant was small but was not very crowded. The servers assisted us as soon as we walked in, seated us and took our orders. We ordered a couple appetizers: Tom Yum soup & Dumplings which were tasty. For dinner, we ordered Basil Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles. I really liked that you could request a spice level from 1-5, we choose 5 (Thai Spicy) and the food was very good. The Thai Iced tea was refreshing and they also had a couple wines to choose from. We will definitely be back to try more! read more

Best Thai food in the area (granted, there aren't a lot of choices, but go here before Sukothai in Beacon). Staff and owners are very nice - great place for takeout or dining in. read more

Dined here with another couple for the 1st time. We shared the Thai Flat Bread app which was a bit greasy, but the dipping sauce which was delicious more than made up for it. I ordered the Drunken Duck which was delicious and enough for me to have for lunch the next day. My husband had a shrimp dish which he positively raved about. This is a man who isn't fond of Thai food, but wants to return, LOL. I can't remember what our friends ordered, but they also loved their meals. Prices reasonable; service wonderful. A little gem of a restaurant in Fishkill. Service was friendly, unfortunately there was only one waitress working on a Friday night so maybe she was a little overwhelmed. Papaya Salad - I've had the real deal in Thailand and unfortunately this wasn't nearly as good. The salad did pack a little punch though which was nice. Red curry w/tofu - this was a great curry and I love when restaurants add pineapple to red curry! The portion size was very generous. Drunken Noodles - tasted a little different from what I've had in other Thai restaurants (maybe a different sauce?) but not bad at all. My husband ate most of this and seemed to like it. Our waitress also notified us when dishes used fish sauce and told us they could substitute it for a veg alternative...really appreciated that. I'll be back! read more

This place used to be amazing. In the last 2 weeks we had a bad experience.. once with take out and then with dine - in. The food quality has gone down. Taste was blah! Green curry was watery. Spring rolls were super oily but the cabbage inside was uncooked. Service was not good either. They were filling take out orders while keeping dine in guests waiting. read more

Nice, authentic family run restaurant. It doesn't strive to be haut cuisine but serves regular comfort thai dishes like red curry, red curry, pad thai etc. One thins is really surprised me was healthy rolls that we got for appetizer (wish we took a photo before we ate it). Food was delicious, spicy (not american spicy) but not overwhelmingly so. My son ordered chicken satay which is the first time I'v seen it served with a burning pot, for him it was a hit! Overall I think this place is worth a stop whenever you look for a place to eat around Fishkill. read more

Doesn't look like much of anything and I've driven right by a bunch of times. But! Great interiors, solid service, and really delicious thai food. The healthy spring rolls are classic, the dumplings are so tasty, and I can't recommend the drunken duck highly enough - perfectly cooked, melt in your mouth duck, spicy noodles, crisp veggies! You can pick and chose the level of spice you desire. I come here whenever I'm upstate New York, and it's 1000% worth the drive. I got take out yesterday. They were so nice and helpful on the phone. The place was very clean. I tried this place years ago and hated it. I vowed then, not to go back because it was yucky but after all of the new reviews, I thought I'd try it again. I'm sorry to say that I'm sorry I did. Most of it got tossed. Too bad because the service was top notch and friendly and fast. Note to the kitchen: Pad Thai includes peanuts and is served at least warm. I made a note in my phone so that I'll never make that mistake again. If I had to characterize the food I'd say it's like a sad lion asleep on a puddle in a zoo. I'm sorry I ate any of it. WOW! I think this is the best Thai I've ever had! Golden Buddha might be small inside, but the service and quality of food makes this restaurant a huge success! Our group of 10 called about an hour in advance on a Saturday evening to see if we could all be seated, and they were able to accommodate! The restaurant is super clean, and gives off all of the Thai vibes. Everyone was obsessed with their food. I had the chicken pad Thai (level 3/5) spicy, and it was seriously the best I've ever had. "Level 3" is VERY spicy, so if you don't like spice, make sure you order a "level 1 spicy!!" The portions were also HUGE, so the price is worth it and guaranteed you will have leftovers. There's also an extensive drink menu. Their house Chardonnay is amazing! It's not bitter the way I usually find most Chardonnays. I wasn't a huge fan of the Lychee-Tini because it's super sweet, but everyone else seemed to enjoy it! read more

Great restaurant with great service. All of their dishes have been great. I love their vegetable pad se ew and the tofu fried rice. Be careful. I think number 2 is plenty hot. I love spicy food and I find number 3 to be way too hot. I have never had to wait for a seat and it's always a great place to get take out. Parking has never been an issue. Enjoy!
