Golden Buddha hits every culinary metric you could possibly want in a Thai restaurant dining experience. First up is service and hospitality which is as important as good food imo.The young lady who waited on us embodied and exemplified the very best within those two qualities. She was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond to our requests. Our appetizer was scrumptious Thai Spring rolls with a memorable dipping sauce that caught our attention immediately. Our Vegetable Soup broth was delicate but very flavorful the soup had a nice assortment of delectable fresh vegetables. The Penang Curry in this little resto is a complex mastery of rich but subtle coconut curry flavors with a delightful signature spicy taste note, doubt you'll find better any where. The Pad Thai is right up there with the Penang Curry in taste, flavor and certainly rivals, if not exceeds, some of the best we've had. GB is not a large fancy Thai restaurant, it qualifies more as a small mom and pop tiny hidden restaurant gem you definitely do not want to miss when in the area..!!

In comparison to other states & countries, this experience was less than fair. First, spring rolls: Usually, it comes with large green lettuce leaves for wrapping, sliced cucumbers, slivers of carrots & daikon topped with a sweet vinegar peanut chile dip. Normally, it includes 5 chicken, pork or vegetable spring rolls. What we got was only 3 spring rolls with a simple vinegar dip that was lacking in flavors. No vegetables if any kind which was a major disappointment. Second: Green Chicken curry Normally, the sauce is creamy coconut spicy delicious curry blend either eggplant, lots of fresh thai basil, some bamboo shoots. The curry was watery, lacking of spices, barely any coconut creamy spicy flavor at all. Had no eggplant and 1 sliver of thai basil. Lots of bell pepper, zucchini, some bamboo shoots. So disappointing. The pad thai was the only dish that had some semblance to real Thai food. Was a bit on the vinegary side. Granted, I'm not an expert but I traveled the world, Thailand 3 tomes. Food is the number one reason to enjoy their true culture. I've had Excellent Thai food in many countries and states. I truly expected better in NY state, even after living in NYC for several years. What is going?? Tried 2 places and both were seriously lacking.

I travel around the world a lot. And let me tell you, I am a Thai food lover. I don't usually do reviews, but after eating here for the second time I have to. This is the BEST authentic Thai food restaurant I have ever ate at. Don't let this tiny place fool you. It is a HIDDEN GEM. The food was made to order. We did the spring rolls as an appetizer. And they were the freshest most crispy rolls I've ever had. The sauce that came with it was light but complimented the rolls so well. For my entree I got the Thai basil and added chicken. The sauce was salty and packed the most insane flavor. The vegetables in it were cooked to utter perfection. Steamed but still had that nice little crunch to them. My boyfriend got the chicken fried rice and said it was the best he's ever had. The food was made to order, came out quick, everything was insanely HOT AND FRESH. The service was great. 10/10 experience. And whoever is behind the kitchen, is a true chef.

A small hidden nestled in plaza for sure, but worth a trip. Despite being short staffed, our server at our table was quick to take our order, finished plates and refilled our water when low without being asked. Also very friendly and polite, since they struck up a conversation with my party afterwards. Decor here is very pretty and I enjoy they try to add personality to the small space. So chicken satay was best I had, I mean it was a small serving but they cooked it just right so the meat was still tender and juicy. Had others satay and it always been meaty but dried out, and had to relay on the sauce more. Here it's good with or without and the peanut sauce, I did enjoy, but wish it bit more thinner, since had really dig deep to keep the sauce on the chicken. A note too, is the fact you get a small plate, with Sambal sauce, hot chili oil and Thai chili dried flakes, so this place got you covered if you want to add fiery heat. For the Basil (Pad Gra Pow) , the spicy Thai brown sauce was savory and had a flavorful depth, plus added bit Sambal with Thai flakes and wow. Wish they give more meat with dish, since the veggies were great, but could use more meat per bite with the veggies. White rice was great, nothing special. Overall a great trip here to appreciate real Thai.

Small Thai restaurant on Main Street Fishkill, lovely place, pleasant atmosphere and very welcoming staff, they aim to please. Our Thai iced tea was served immediately. For starters we ordered the Dumplings, tasty little morsels of marinated chicken, carrots, water chestnuts in a wonton skin, served with ginger/soya sauce. For the entrées we shared two dishes. Massaman Curry, choice of meat; beef, chicken or pork, in a rich mild curry, vegetables and coconut milk, served with Jasmine rice. Pad Gra POW, my favorite of the two; Stir-fried chicken, garlic, onion, green bean, peppers basil in a delicious spicy dark brown sauce. All dishes are served with Jasmine rice. They offer a very extensive menu, from curry to seafood, To Duck, Noodles, Fish and Soups. Give them a try and Bon Appetit.

Anyone to order onions for the main dish?

Way too many onions in the fried rice. And way too many bell peppers in the curry? So gross and restaurant is obviously being cheap with over loading the dishes with cheap fillers. Shame shame!!!

He will fill you with his wealth of knowledge of Sri Lankan food as well as how his food is pure and wholesome. Food was very good. I had Sri Lankan rice entree specialty dish. Except for the the shrimp tasting like dried shrimp - which I hate with a passion the rest of the dish was pretty good. No complaints from my other guests who enjoyed their meals. The dessert was great. They have both vegetarian (including goat, beef, pork, shrimp, squid, and chicken) and non-vegetarian options. It fell short of five stars for two reasons: 1. the dried shrimp or dried fish taste in the dish (shimp, calamari, and chicken); and 2. the moderately high prices (I can only compare to prices at Indian restaurants in the city, and what people are typically paying for the same portion size at casual sit down restaurants) Since we don't frequent this location often it is a treat to stop by every once in awhile and introduce my friends to it. If you are on a budget and consume large volumes of food to be full, this is most likely a one off or a place you may want to skip. Otherwise, enjoy it. On premise parking lot and seems ADA compliant. It looks like it is in a house, but inside it is comfortable and casual. It appears there is allot more local customers than visitors from out of town. The interior plays tourist information on Sri Lanka while the interior is also decorated in culturally appropriate ascents. We were there on a Saturday for dinner and the space was fairly empty - perhaps two other tables occupied. It is in sort of a remote area outside the main drag of Beacon most are familiar with (not within reasonable walking distance). It's worth a try, especially if you are interested in healthier forms of food (ingredients).

The ambiance is very modern and colorful, with brightly colored walls and murals and really nice family photos and thai decorations up making it authentically thai-american. My favorite dishes here are the guay chai appetizers-- which are fried, deeply savory and chewy-- and their pad see ew which has a umami, wok hei flavor and a silky texture on the rice noodles. My only note is that sometimes the rice noodles come pretty broken up in pieces from the stir fry. Their red curry and pad Thai are also great, very flavorful with a fair portion. I appreciate how now they give you a spice rack to self-customize your spice level instead of relying on the kitchen. I only recently realized how GOOD their drinks are too. By far the best matcha lattes in Putnam county, as a matcha lover I like how you can really taste the matcha rather than just the milk. Their cocktails during golden hour are also amazing, and extremely creative. They also host events like trivia nights and open mics that I would love to attend one day. I am pleased to report that on a recent Saturday night we had a sublime dining experience. The staff couldn't have been more gracious as they had the luxury of only a half filled dining room. We wanted to take our time and ordered an excellent bottle of wine, a Hugel Pinot Blanc from Alsace, one of the wines by the glass. It's always a winner and was priced at the astonishingly low price of $34/bottle. I've paid as much as $65/btl for this same wine in Manhattan. Our server gave us time to savor a glass of wine before we placed an order for appetizers. Summer Rolls were like having a salad rolled up in an impossibly thin rice wrapper. When dipped in the savory peanut sauce, they became a thoroughly satisfying vegetarian bite. We also ordered the fried dumplings, which put the usual, pasty Chinese restaurant staple to shame. These were light and crisp with a well seasoned, generous pork and chicken filling. Our main courses were, once again, amazing. The Pad Siew was richly satisfying with tender, succulent chunks of pork and wide rice noodles in a savory sauce. The roasted duck in red curry was a marvel of crispy skin and moist meat - half a crispy roasted duck in a Thai red curry sauce with onions, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, pineapple and Thai basil. Normally, I am not a fan of fruit in my main course, but here it perfectly complemented the spicy curry and the rich duck. The longevity of this restaurant (it was here when we moved to Beacon 19 years ago) is clearly a function of the professional and friendly staff and a kitchen that continues to turn out precisely prepared Thai cuisine. Looking back, I have to say that Sukhothai has gotten better over the years - not something that happens very often.
