7/27/25 My husband and I along with another couple, stopped by Golden Buffet on Sunday. Even though it was a little busy, we were greeted and seated right away, which I appreciated. The food itself was delicious with a huge variety of options to choose from, definitely something for everyone. It did leave me feeling a little sleepy afterward, so I'm guessing there's plenty of MSG in the mix. At $22 per person, it's not a bad deal at all, especially if you go for special occasions like big birthdays. Personally, I don't usually eat at buffets since I'm in my "healthier era," but this was a fun impulse choice for the day. I believe you can eat healthier if you stick to the hibachi grill option, and watch the oils. Overall, it was pretty inside and I'd come back in the future, preferably for a celebration so I feel better about over eating. read more

This is an enormous buffet with a lot of everything. Not just Chinese dishes but items like twice baked potatoes and other American items. They also have a huge sushi buffet. The interior is modern and clean and brightly lit up. I really like this place for a quick lunch. read more

It's a Chinese buffet you get what you get. They do have a good selection of food, sushi, and desserts. I read a review and the review said some of the items were warm even thought it was over a hot plate. This was correct. Some of the items I got were not hot just warm. Which was odd. Overall the place was clean and they did fill everything up one it was empty. Price wise it's reasonable. I will say the pepper chicken was my favorite. And the waiter was great and kept my drink filled up. Overall it's an okay place - nothing spectacular. read more

Food is rarely replenished. Crab legs are only brought out every 20 minutes. We were at 6 pm in the middle of the dinner rush and the chicken and broccoli stayed empty the entire time. In the 45 minutes we were there they only brought out crab legs 2xs. Too expensive to have empty pans. read more

My friends and I went for mother's day. We got there pretty early and there was already a fair amount of people there with more coming in as we were seated . I will say they have an amazing selection of food and seafood as well. They have a hibachi grill if that's more of your jam. After reading the reviews I do have to agree the food could have been hotter since they have steam wells but it wasn't . The potstickers were really good as well as the crab rangoon. The bok choy was good as well. As for the rest of the food it was average . I will say though the dessert bar was pretty good with the exception of the Napoleon. I like going here, they have good food. But they seem to nickel and dime you. I went in to get the to go buffet-advertised at $8.99 per pound. I got some rice an egg roll, and some spring rolls and crab racoon. Also some cheesy something. They charged me way extra because they said they charge $3 for egg roll and spring rolls. What? Like advertise that, please. Don't say it's $8.99 per pound then charge individually for everything. Be careful about that. And check your receipts. Had I know it would have been more than the buffet price, I would have eaten the buffet. read more

Apparently this restaurant just did some recent really nice renovations.It shined as you walked in.This is my husband's favorite place,whether it's sit down or a to go for Sunday afternoon.There's much for every taste.Mine is much different than my husband's so we're both happy!We took family and everyone's plate looked a little different...with conversations mm..you should try this!!Even happy little ones. I think this is one of the better buffets in Lexington for Chinese food. They had a good verity of sushi which was nice to try. They had the usual stir fried dishes and general tso chicken. The lunch buffet is 11.99 for all you can eat. We noticed a lot of people getting to go boxes instead of eating in the restaurant. read more

Not as good as King Buffet in Richmond, Ky. Food was decent. Soup was okay. Fancy though, ceilings remind me of vans that I had in middle school. Scratch that, I was too poor to own vans, but it did remind me of other kids shoes in middle school. In a pinch, I'd come again but not for the soup. read more

I went with my family on a busy Friday night. I walk in and the first thing I see? No crab legs. Okay that's fine there still other things. I went over and grabbed some sushi and my god what I ate was rancid. I'm a big sushi lover so I know pretty well what sushi is supposed to taste like. The server was not nice at all I asked if they served Pepsi or coke products and she got angry I asked. I just decided screw it I'll take coke or Pepsi and got 1 small can of Pepsi that you get in a 12 pack at Walmart and got charged like 2.89$ for it. I would understand if it came with refills but I never got one. Everyone who ate the sushi got sick. Woman got mad that we left a 5$ tip of a 47$ check. I'm a server myself so I understand but when your mean and nasty and have bad service I'm not tipping well. 5$ is more than enough in my opinion. read more

Went in at about 8:45pm; door says they close at 10:30 pm. I had called ahead of time and was told they closed at 10pm. At about 9:00, they began taking down the bars of food. Would NOT put out more crab legs (which I specially ask for), no other foods were being re-stocked either. I had a small plate of crab legs, 1 egg roll, a scoop of rice, 2 fried dumplings, and a scoop of lychee nuts. I left an all you can eat buffet hungry because they shut it down before closing, and I was charged $20 per person. When I paid the bill, I did not leave a tip as I normally tip with cash. The server came to pick up the ticket, saw no tip and jerked the ticket off the table, stomped off and began talking in Chinese. I would NOT recommend anyone going here, was highly disappointed all the way around. read more

SELF SERVICE IS BACK!!! They are open and you can serve yourself if you're wearing your mask and use the PROVIDED GLOVES. They have eliminated a few selections in order to keep people distanced better but NO worries folks. They are a larger buffet to begin with so there are still plenty of selections. True Sushi and Sashimi are also available. As always with buffets, go around lunch and/or dinner time and the food will be freshest. This buffet has crab legs during the dinner hours. Way overpriced! $18.99 because they had sea food including crab legs? Clams were good, shrimp was typical chinese, frog legs were not bad, egg rolls were inedible. Sushi was better than expected. every other dish was not terrible but had no flavor. Saw crab legs once in the 50 min we were there. 4 people took all of them and no more were ever brought out. read more

I have to say that this is probably the best Asian buffet in Lexington. It used to be The Supreme Buffet off of New Circle, but now that one has went downhill and I think that this one holds that title. Although there aren't a lot of options or sauces for the hibachi line, I do like the option of it. So, if you're dieting and trying to eat healthy, that's your best bet. What's the hibachi line? It's precooked items that you load on a plate and then you leave at the end of the line, for the chef to cook it all up for you as you wait. Like BDs Mongolian Grill... but not near the options or quality. The featured sushi is above par for a buffet. They only had four pieces of California roll left, I snatched those up and waited for them to make more. That never happened though, they never replenished the CA roll sushi. Maybe I should've asked? The hot bar and the cold bar options were plentiful. However, several of the hot bar options that I tried were way under temperature. I tried a few crap legs but they were completely flavorless... not sure how that happened. The place was popping on a Sunday at lunch, so it's not one of those sketchy buffets where you pull into the parking lot and it's empty, so you feel risqué going in to try it. read more

First time trying them out. Not a typical buffet in that it had so much to choose from and should satisfy whatever a person is looking for. Nice interior, clean dining area, food bars were clean and well kept. We were there for lunch. $13.99 but you won't leave hungry. Servers were very attentive. We will return. read more

Came in on a Saturday for lunch with my sister and niece(10 y.o.) and nephew(6y.o.). Everything was fine until the check came where we were charged for 3 adults and 1 child buffet. NOT once did the server ask how old my niece was PRIOR to us being seated. We have been to this restaurant several times, almost "regulars". We decided to address the price while checking out at the front. The MEAN, always having an attitude older lady that some times seat people and a cashier is who we encountered. The lady was informed that my niece was 10 years old and we were disrespected by the lady questioning us and NOT believing us. Another employee that speaks a lil more English came over to speak with the lady where a calculator was used to perform subtraction of my niece's birth year to prove her age and that wasn't done correctly since it's the beginning of the year. Thankfully my sister had my niece's birth certificate saved on her phone to PROVE my niece was in fact 10 years old. We will NOT return to this establishment again! The workers need to work on being personable, customer service and believing customers because we had NO reason to lie about a child's age. read more

they're always ugly with people. always roll their eyes when asked for anything & expect a tip. first starting out gave big tips. then now i dont even want to tip or go anymore. they just got progressively worse with time. i even came in one time & there was absolutely nothing in the hot plates. why are you letting in customers if you dont want to cook anymore for the night? its not my problem you dont want to cook. dont make me pay for a full buffet if theres only half. i guess they dont like regulars?? which is strange for a restaurant. & fail to think of the safety of children. they gave me a booster seat for my infant.. they have high chairs with broken seatbelts. read more

Egg roll smelt like it was rotten (not to mention it was hard as a rock), rolls were dried up, cheese sticks felt like glue (and look like they've sat out for a week, and it was too expensive for what it was. This use to be my favorite Chinese buffet in Lexington. They open at 11:00am; my son and I arrived at 11:30. I thanked the young hostess twice for seating us and taking our order. No reply. We both chose 3 items with some fried rice. I had 2 seafood and 1 jalapeno chicken while he had a combination beef and chicken. I won't say that everything was cold, but it wasn't extremely warm and it certainly wasn't hot. Again, 30 minutes after opening. We both had a few pieces of sushi, which were over 1/3 celery. I thanked our server a total of 3 times for bringing our drinks and asking for refills. No reply. I asked for our bill. She placed it on our table and said "thank you" as she walked away. The bill was close to $33.00. I gave her 2 twenties and left a little over $7.00 for a tip. That was my final parting gift. For $20.00, I'm sure you can find many places that will fill you up, even on Saturday. And, you won't have to worry about the food being fresh or being disappointed with the staff for failing to provide the least bit of common courtesy. Cashier didn't like that I asked for clarification of the charges. She mumbled to a co-worker and shook her head. Very rude. I do believe I was overcharged, but paid it anyway. $125 on a Sunday for four adults, a 7-year-old and 2-year-old. Only one of the adults ordered a soft drink instead of water.
