Ordered 2 piece roasted chicken combo with no drink, which should be a breast and wing. I didn't notice the error until later. 2 piece combo is $9.99. 3 piece combo is 11.99. They brought out wing, drumstick and thigh. They were all old and cold. I complained that I had ordered 2 piece and should have gotten a breast. They gave me a fresh semi warm beast. The sides, okra and mashed potatoes were not even warm. ugh. The dinner roll was hard on the bottom, cold and generally stale. My second combo was 3 piece tenders which were cold and not even slightly crispy. However the packaged barbecue sauce was sweet but stellar. Overall a lousy meal. read more

I love the food and I recommended this place to many people especially the ones that love chicken and shrimp. But they have become unresponsive to complaints. They have an app with rewards. The only thing is I can never scan the receipt myself even though there's a option to do that. And they scanned my receipt and the restaurant last week and I still haven't gotten the points. I reported the problem and someone promised to get back with me but they have not done so and I don't think they even care. I'm not going to spend my money in a restaurant that ignores me when there's a problem. You don't have to offer a rewards program but if you're going to make sure it works properly. The only thing I want now is a phone call from manager with a promise to put my points for my last two receipts on my account. I don't want a promise of a phone call; I want a phone call. He called and said he needed assistance. I told him to leave the store and I'd come to the store to see if I could resolve it. I entered, smiled, said evening, I'd like to order a small Lemonade. The employee said, "Just a drink? Are you just going to sit in here and drink?" Mind you, there is a customer behind me, so there is no cause to shame any customer over the size of an order. I said yes, just the drink for here. I paid, and she placed an empty cup on the counter. Um. Yes, you offer self-serve, but I asked no one in the store to help me get the money, I am not an employee. Please fill my cup with the beverage. I get employees deserve a working wage, but customers also deserve what we worked hard to pay for from a business, basic, minimal service. I did this to give her the benefit of the doubt, that what my son said he may have taken out of context. Nope. My sons order was wrong two nights in a row. This was night two, so he drove back to get it corrected. Both nights, Silvia. She refused to correct the order or refund. I finally informed her that my leaving without paying would be theft. In the same way, their refusing to either replace the order correctly or issuing a refund is also theft. She then said she'd offer a partial refund. Rather than see it escalate, call popo. No chance she would bully the cop, and there was no need me allowing her to just have such a flippant attitude as to tell me "get out of her store" for asking for her district mangers info. Cops arrive, and she stated she called them as well. Long story short, she finally issued my son a partial refund and refunded my meager order. This was a matter for corporate office, not police. But in this day of customers and employees going viral for these issues turning violent, no need my allowing her escalations and bullying to go unchecked. You either refund, or replace. Stealing from a customer is never good for business. Had I taken the drink without paying, they'd call the police, and I'd be in cuffs, no questions asked. Theft is wrong either way. She could have issued the refunds just because it was the legal and right thing to do. And if a customer just needs a drink, and pays, no need shaming them. It could have been my last money for a cool drink. Be okay that I spent it there. Every bit helps them pay you, not the customers. The customer is not always right. But if the money is correctly paid in advance, the order can be wrong, mistakes happen, no biggie, but the order needs to be fixed without mistreating a customer. Having a bad day is understandable, but this was not that. This was simply a manager that thinks a title equals power. Over your employees, yes, but that does not extend to the customers. We don't work there. Following up with corp. Hope they can sit with this manager and see if her emoloyees are being treated as poorly. This review is for the emergency exit and not the food. 11 months ago I took a picture and posted it on their Yelp page showing that the emergency exit was blocked. I mentioned it to the manager on duty and they said they'd take care of it. Customer service even responded to my review !!! Today I stopped by and it's still blocked. This carries a hefty fine. Darn those commercials on TV! Golden Chick has been advertising their fried shrimp and fish platters. They've looked so good, I HAD to try one. Yep, it was a good as it was shown on TV. The shrimps were nice and large and fried to perfection as well as the fish. My platter also included a roll, fries and cole slaw. Major yummy. Service through the drive-thru was brisk. Another fast food place, so as always you know I have to treat fast food a slight bit differently than I do restaurants. The expectation level for the food is different, but occasionally they may surprise. Golden Chick has always had a special place in my heart ever since college, when I first tried their rolls. Their rolls are to die for! I mean they are among the best tasting bread rolls, and I'm picky when it comes to rolls. If I'm eating at home, I won't do anything other than King Hawaiian rolls; and if I'm eating out, I'll usually ignore the rolls unless they are actually good, tasty, and hot. Golden Chick is one of the few places where I will have multiple rolls, and the only place that I will actually order multiple. As for the rest of their food? I have no real complaints about this location. I see a review that mentions their chicken being thin, and I wonder if this was a fluke visit, because I've never had that problem here. I've come to this location multiple times because they are close to my work. Their chicken is not greasy, like KFC's seems to be, and their chicken seems large and fluffy. Every time I've been here, I've had nothing but positive experiences with the taste, the size, and the feel of the chicken in my hands. Here, I don't have to wipe my fingers off nearly as much as I do other places; and by that I mean, I can continue eating without having to stop between each bite and wipe. I will say on one and only one visit, I ordered the mashed potatoes and tasted something odd, but deduced that part of the breading had fallen into the potatoes. I wish the mashed potatoes were a bit creamier, but I don't expect creamy mashed potatoes from a fast food place. The staff is extremely receptive and friendly, and they pay attention. I've had instances where I'll walk in the door and immediately they'll know what I'm going for. With fast food, I am extremely critical about the friendliness and attentive ability of the staff, and this location does it right. They pay attention, they bring out the food quick and make eye contact, they smile and make conversation. They appear genuine and welcoming, and that is important because far too often you see fast food restaurants have either high school kids that only care about a paycheck or older workers that have become discouraged and disgruntled; but this location, the staff doesn't have it. I've try to come here twice to try this place. I will never be back I have still yet to eat food here. The first time they said when I got to the window they could not take credit cards and left me sitting there for 10 minutes. I didn't offer me the food for free they wanted me to go to an ATM and come back. So I wrote the company and they sent me a FreeMail I thought you know I'll give them another try. So if you weeks later I go back and I'm told that it's gonna take 7-8 minutes for chicken tenders and I say no thank you I'm in a hurry. I guess the people in front of me or not so I was stuck in the drive-thru for 10 minutes. I should know that I've been to another location and had a similar experience where I ended up driving off because the staff is incompetent. i'm convinced this is a larger problem with the company and the training of the staff how they run their processes in the business. I will never be back I googled really fast and ran over to chicken express with the staff was amazing, the food was amazing and I've been back three times to chicken express and it's just awesome! Golden Chick is where to be if you want good deals on delicious fried chicken and sides! Tried GC for the first time the other day and loved everything! Have been here a few times now and so far, service and food have been consistent. They do fried chicken, tenders and original, as well as fried catfish. The man at the counter last time was very peppy and nice. My daughter said hello and he responded with a big smile and "Oh, why hello there! How are you?" It really makes me happy when cashiers/staff say hello to my daughter or make her feel included somehow, I feel like that boosts her confidence and helps her not be so scared to talk to adults. Plus, it just really helped that whole "Family-Friendly" feel. So big thumbs up there. As far as food, I usually go for the 3 or 4 pc tenders combo, which includes a side, a drink, gravy and a yeast roll as well as free soft serve vanilla cone if you dine in. The tenders themselves are pretty nicely sized portions, well battered and golden fried. I love how crunchy each bite is! The gravy is decent, but if you ask for a packet of their Lotta Zing seasoning and mix some in, wheeeeewwww-weeee that's good! Corn nuggets are my preferred side, cause who doesn't like corn nuggets?! The ones here have a nice creaminess to them, with the whole kernels still present. Another good side is the chicken salad. If you get that, you can rip your yeast roll in half and put it in the middle, BOOM! Instant chicken salad sandwich! And I've saved the best, or at least the most surprising to me, for last. The yeast roll! Normally, I prefer a biscuit. I was a little disappointed that they didn't offer biscuits here during my first visit. Then I tried the yeast roll. It is soooo soft, buttery, slightly sweet and puffy, omgg! It was so much better than any other roll I've gotten at similar establishments. Legit made me not even miss my biscuit, that is some powerful sh*t! Good job on those rolls, Golden Chick! Plus, getting free ice cream for dining in works every time for me! Perfect treat to end your meal, and is great for families, my daughter loves it! Hoping that I continue to only have positive experiences here. I've read a couple of negative reviews and am surprised at some of the bad experiences people have had. This review is based on several times that I been here. I always order the same thing at Golden Chick (6 PC Tenders combo) with maybe one or 2 things additional to it depending how hungry I am that day. Lets start with the food. The food here for fried chicken tenders is really good in my books. I like how it is lightly battered, not too salty, and its always hot/fresh when I ordered it. My issue with this place is the service itself. Whether I go through the drive-thru or eat inside, they always seem to either forget an item or 2 of my order. I had one incident where my order was skipped, people that ordered after I did received their food. I also had to wait 20-30+ minutes before I could get my order. I thought this is a fast food, not a restaurant. I have NEVER waited longer than 15 mins for an order at a fast food place even on its busiest days. This place just seems disorganized and mismanaged. It is just sad and disappointing that a place that serves amazing fried tenders just have no order checking and poor management. read more

First off I can't comment on the food as the wait was SO long I left. I got in line at the drive-through behind about 8 other cars. I waited at least 15 minutes and hardly moved. 3 cars behind me bailed. One car sat at the speaker to place their order so long I decided I wanted In-N-Out which is in the same parking lot and left. Total of 5 minutes to drive into In-N-Out place my order and drive out and the car that was at the speaker at Golden Chick WAS STILL WAITING FOR THEIR FOOD! Wow! For a first timer at Golden Chick, I was very impressed! The order came out quickly and the food tasted great. The spicy tenders are not too bad and taste even better dipped in the gravy. I think we went on a little bit of an off night because everyone seemed a little off their game. We had a similar experience with ordering as the previous poster where we had to kind of keep just going a long with which button they we're having to push next, and asking if we needed anything else after each order item, even after just one item & we had 5 people with us. The kids meal comes with a cookie and with the free ice cream we made her a cookie Sunday of sorts which was neat. They have big red on tap! They also had this little chicken thing that laid an egg with a little prize in it when you put a quarter in. There were a couple golden egg in there, I assume gives you free food or something of the sort. The food was decent enough ... I would say it would be comparable to Chicken Express. And so aren't honoring the replacement. Not coming back again. Like why would I just lie about this? They should just replace it- it isn't my fault the manager either didn't write it down and they lost it. First couple times I came here it was really good. For a fast food place, it hit the spot and was good!. Been craving chicken tenders and decided to try here. Went with the tenders combo--mix of spicy and regular--Zing sauce, fries, and slaw. Pretty dang good! I preferred the spicy tenders but both were fresh, crunchy battered, and moist inside and were great when dipped in the mildly spicy Zing sauce. . The fries are mildly seasoned and were ok--I prefer regular fries. The slaw was not too mayonnaise-y or too sweet and was good. I went through the drive through and was asked about my military service when the very pleasant lady saw my USAA card. Not only did she give me a military discount, but she also thanked me for my service. WOW! Ty for supporting veterans, Golden Chick.
