The 9 Leg & Thigh.Combo meal (limited time offer) is a really good way to get tasty ROASTED & FRIED chicken in the same box. Unfortunately, the box is hard to eat out of, because all of the fried chicken is piled on top of the roasted pieces. But the FLAVOR is good. Very good! The Fried Okra is excellent; dry & crispy! The Mashed Potatoes needed salt, but they were also good - and the gravy was good! No napkins or plasticware were provided, so this would not be good food to take on a picnic. (Lesson learned.) The food is worth 4.5 stars, but the details snd staff at this location drop the rating to 3 stars. 'Nuff said about that; maybe we encountered the worst crew. read more

The place being always empty should've been a sign, this was my first and last meal of the day before I ended up at the ER with food posing.

I am tired of getting mashed potato soup. They don't care and it's apparent. This is the 3 rd time in the last 2 months my mash potatoes have been that way. My wife believes it's the company trying to save cost by watering them down. Either way I have had enough. Congratulations you have got me to drive an extra 7 miles to Chicken Express in Rockwall. Barely fill the condiment cup up half way and then charge 39 cents per extra condiment. Kids meal gets double the fries as an adult meal which costs $4 more than the kids meal. Half the time you don't get your roll. 100% of the time no plastic ware. Always seems the employees hate their life also. read more

While ordering he kept messing up my order and i couldn't hear him. simple noise issue right? wrong. get to the window and he hands me my food after paying, i had asked for zing sauce and gravy as dipping sauces, and i added a side of rice at the window. i open the box before driving away to be sure and i see only the gravy. water. pure water. milky water. no zing sauce. i asked for some zing with my 6 pice chicken and he hands me one tiny container so i ask for another. when i open the rice , it's black. horrible. do not go here. read more

My daughter talked me into going here, I knew I should not have listened. Golden Chick as whole has the worst tasting chicken of all the chicken chains and this location just makes bad chicken worse. I ordered a 16 piece tender, it's obvious by the taste & texture of the tenders that they gave me a few fresh pieces mixed with old pieces. BY FAR THE WORST LOCATION! I don't know who they hire, how they select staff, or what's going on in the kitchen but my goodness! Second try and it's still disgusting. The rice is like smashed vomit, where's the rice? The rolls aren't even cooked! It's raw dough! The chicken is never fresh and doesn't look like chicken. We typically have the worst luck ordering through any deliver service at this location due to various issues In the past. We've learned that it's better quality when you go up there yourself and order. Last night we bit the bullet one last time and ordered through door dash. Everything seemed correct this time until we started passing out drinks, and to our surprise we found a piece of someone's chewed gum attached to the bottom of the drink tray. Never going back here. A few weeks ago we went here at 9:50pm on a Friday to go through the drive through. 5 minutes goes by - No one answered the speaker. I pull up to the drive through window and after seeing someone trying to ignore me, he says "oh we're closed - we just threw everything out ". First of all, their hours state ON THE BUILDING that they're open to 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights, so the dude was lying. Second of all, they were closing up shop even before 10pm to have thrown all that out that quickly. THIRD of all, I waited in the parking lot 10 minutes just to search for a new place open at that hour, and I watched all 4 workers walk out at 10:05pm and go home. That's ridiculous, even if you claim the place closed at 10pm, which it doesn't on Friday. Utterly ridiculous. read more

Forgot the rolls this time, didn't believe me asked to look in my bag!! She realized no rolls. Then preceded To throw smashed rolls in bag! If I could put negative stars I would. Friday we got a family 8 piece chicken meal from this location. Soon after eating, I started having severe cramps, and was sitting on the toilet with a trash can in my lap. It continued throughout the night, I was thinking about going to the ER. Late Friday night, my wife was sick, and it lasted until today. We are not the only ones who have gotten sick, maybe this place needs to be checked by the health department. Poor customer service from the beginning. Then was told our order would be ready in 15 minutes. Took over 30 minutes. No apology. The girl working the window seems to want to be anywhere but at work. Update: I posted this review while waiting. They had us pull forward and told us it would be another 8 minutes. After waiting another 15 minutes, total of 45 minutes my husband goes inside and asks what's going on. They said "oh we haven't even dropped the wings yet" What?!! So friend chicken spots, they are a everywhere. What makes it a special place to me however is how fresh the food is when served. Although it's difficult to mess up fried chicken tenders it can be done. Too hard, too dry. Over or undercooked. This place consistently serves fresh and quality chicken. Hot and flavorful. IMO, Golden Chick trumps Raising Canes. Came to this location 2x, drive thru and dine in. I suck at ordering at the drive thru so I had to pull up where they hand you the food to order. Lady was nice and I almost drove off without paying. Idek what was going on in my head that day. Service was nice and I did notice that their cups didn't have the logo tho. Just plain white large styrofoam cups. 2nd time was dine in during lunch and man, the location is so busy. I didn't realize it shared the same store with Fuzzys AND a gas station. Plenty of seating but it gets filled. I saw Fuzzys having some discount with teacher ID so that attracts lots of folks. I like their food though! The employees do seem preoccupied tho. I definitely suggest the drive thru over picking it up even though you can get a free ice cream after. Very convenient! read more

Horrible!!!!! I was told to try this place for its roasted chicken. I tried them twice and they are horrible. Both times I went they were limited on the types of pieces of meat they had, and the meat was suspect. Also, when I ordered my food I was greeted by someone saying "What do you want". I also tired the jalapeno poppers, and they were empty on the inside. I will not try this place again, and will make sure others in my community know how horrible it is. read more

The quality of their chicken is hit or miss. If you catch them when they first open up, the chicken is fresh... usually. But, just about any other time, not so much. Their prices are reasonable, especially compared to KFC, and service is usually pretty good. But, the major drawback is consistently poor quality chicken. read more

The strips are so tiny and thin. Their prices are getting higher. Their sales and coupons are getting worse. They give us less and less potatos and gravy everytime. I have to make extra potatoes at home cuz they are getting so cheap. This place is becoming a joke. I would rather make the drive to Rockwall to Chicken Express and get double the food for less. We were ordering food at the Fuzzys Taco and one of the Golden Chick employees came over and interrupted our ordering to yell at the girl taking our order to quit sending people over to their drink fountain. What? In front of a customer?? First of all the drink machines are out in the open. I highly doubt that Fuzzys is sending people to sneak drinks from Golden Chick. Pa-lease. Golden Chick recently opened next to the EXXON - I made a stop at it today through the drive-thru. There were three cars ahead and five behind. It took for ever as I thought it was not worth the wait and just go elsewhere. I should always know to follow my gut on things! It was SO overpriced, and certainly not worth the effort. I will not make that mistake a second time. A shame really. Overpriced, poor service, food quality and amount of food is as well. read more
